Port Sunlight Museum & Garden Village

Port Sunlight is a uniquely beautiful garden village
created by 'Soap King' William Hesketh Lever in
1888 for his Sunlight Soap factory workers.
Designated a Conservation Area, the village consists of over
900 Grade II listed buildings including a boutique hotel and
world-class art gallery. The village is home to the second
largest war memorial in the country, and was the venue for
Ringo Starr's first gig with The Beatles in 1962.
Port Sunlight Museum lies at the heart of the experience and
gives visitors an insight into life as a 'Sunlighter' through
