CHAMBER DIRECTORS will meet MONDAY, APRIL 11, 2016
at Noon. Directors, please be present. Important decisions will
be made.

CHAMBER LUNCHEON TUESDAY, APRIL 12, 2016 AT NOON.
Reservations for the $7 catered lunch are encouraged, but not
required. Your presence is required for a successful luncheon.
A Citizen of the Month will be honored.

Recycle will be Saturday, April 9, 2016 at City Hall from 8 am
to noon. This is also the City Wide Spring Clean Up Day. Roll
offs will be along the track on East Commerce for unwanted
items, debris, and clutter. A hot dog lunch will be sponsored
by the Chamber and GEDCO at noon for all the workers. The
lunch this year will be at Ken Bennett Pavilion.


Days Barbeque Luncheon on Friday, April 15 from 11 am to 1
pm.

The 85th Chamber Banquet was AWESOME! All in attendance was
in awe of Richard Hight’s artistic ability. It was great seeing all trying to figure out just what he was drawing. (Bear and Eagle) A
huge thanks goes to Colt Edwards and Gladewater National Bank
for being our speaker sponsor. A huge thanks goes to Austin Bank,
GEDCO, Texas Bank & Trust, John Linder Operating Co., LLC, Shipp’s
Marine, Gladewater Former Students’ Association, Heartland Park
& Recreations, LLC, McKaig Chevrolet Buick, and Rockett Realty for
also sponsoring the Banquet. Banquet Committee consisted of
Christin Allen, Marsha Byrd, Todd Clifton, Robert Johnson, Lana
Niemann, Lois Reed, JD Shipp, John Ussery and Decorating Committee Betty Jean Stegall, Chuck and Lois Reed, Christian and Kathlene Allen. Great job everyone! Thanks to GHS National Honor
Society for being our servers. Darren Richardson did an outstanding job as Master of Ceremonies. Then there’s our award winners:
Business of the Year—Austin Bank; Educator of the Year-Stephaney
Wallace; Youth of the Year—Taylor Radford; Main Streeter of the
Year—Winn King; Marilyn Godfrey Volunteer Service Award—Linda
Dougan; Bradley Awards—Lois Reed and Lana Niemann; Woman of
the Year—Melba Haralson and Man of the Year—Christian Allen.
Special awards went to The Heartland Group, Gladewater Police
Department, Christian Allen, and James Moore from the Main
Street Program. Chamber recognized Citizens of the Month Marilyn Johnston, Rickey Wallace, Amy Davis, Tom Perryman, Rocky
Hawkins, Rhonda Wright, Melissa Holcomb, and Melville Murphy.
Economic Growth members were Tommy Ellis Trucking, TICO,
Coffee-ology, Gladewater School of Massage, McKaig Chevrolet
Buick, Shipp’s Marine, JO Williams, and Gym 101. Economic Partners Gregg County, GEDCO, City of Gladewater. Supporting Partners were Gladewater Mirror, Fire Department, Police Department
And Public Works. Individual members recognized were Beverly
and John Paul Tallent and Sheila Faggans. Sponsoring Members
were Texas Bank & Trust, Gladewater National Bank and Austin
Bank. CONGRATULATIONS to all. On a side note I want to thank
the Chamber for recognizing my 26 years as Chamber Manager.
Be sure and come out Saturday , April 9 from 9 am to 10:30 am
and check out the cars that will be starting in Gladewater on the
Highway 271 Car Cruise. Cars will leave Gladewater and make
stops in Gilmer, Pittsburg, and Mt. Pleasant.
East Texas Gusher Days will be starting Thursday, April 14 with
Hip Hop Amusements, Kick Off Luncheon will be Friday, April 15
from 11 am to 1 pm and Karaoke, then Saturday will be Arts &
Crafts, Food, Entertainment, Chili Cook Off, Car Show, Parade and
Health Fair. Gym 101 will be sponsoring the Gusher Gallop.
The Lee Library will be hosting a book sale and the Museum will
host a quilt show. Plenty of fun and things to do and see for the
whole family. See you Saturday.
