Tournament Format
In every flight, in all events, the tournament format will be Round Robin Play
progressing to Knockout Tournaments.
Round Robin divisions will consist of six teams from which three will progress.
In addition, there will be an announced number of Wildcard teams progressing in
every flight, from Round Robin Play, to the respective Knockout Tournaments.
The Wildcard teams are determined by weighted, random computer draws. The
term “weighted” means that each game won equals one chance in the draw pool.
If a team walks out during Round Robin Play, the remaining opponents will
be awarded wins (rounded up) based on their win percentage at the time of
the match against the walk out team.
Players on a team that walks out will be expelled from the tournament. No refunds.
Based on participation, Round Robin match formats, two or three games per match,
will be announced prior to the kick-off of each event.
Knockout matches will be 3 Out Of 5 games.
NO WAITING IN ROUND ROBIN PLAY OR IN THE KNOCKOUT TOURNAMENTS!
Game Requirements
And Ratings
The World Championships Dart Tournament game requirements are:
A minimum of 150 games between February 7, 2010 and May 21, 2010
Or
A minimum of 60 games between October 4, 2009 and December 21, 2009
And
A minimum of 90 games between February 7, 2010 and May 21, 2010
Byes, forfeits, postponements, Dummy Scores and/or voided stat games do not create
exceptions to the game requirements.
Player ratings as of June 4, 2010 are the Entry Ratings for the World Championships
Dart Tournament.
Match Conflicts
If a player is involved in two events (regardless of type), the player must prepare, IN
ADVANCE, for the potential conflict by having a NRP verified and recorded on either or
both teams, the player’s choice.
IF A NRP IS NOT VERIFIED, RECORDED, AND READY TO PLAY WHEN A MATCH IS
CALLED, A DUMMY SCORE MUST BE USED!
NO CONFLICTS, NO DELAYS, NO PLAYING MULTIPLE MATCHES!
Corking
In the “A” and “AA” Flights, if the roster rating of the two highest rated opposing
players are within two rating points, the cork will replace the coin flip. If not, the coin
flip remains. In the Super Flight, the cork will replace the coin flip.

A Pride Cup Team consists of three players with the makeup of each team defined by
the program directors of the respective countries.*
America Pride Cup
The United States will be allocated three regional teams –
Mid-America – East of the Mississippi River
Southwest – Hawaii, California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado and Utah
Northwest – balance of the states
Japan will be allocated two regional teams – East and West
All other participating countries will be invited to enter a team. Teams do not pay
entry fees.
Individual Pride Cup Trophies will be awarded to First and Second Place
Teams, and the First Place Team will be recognized on the America Pride Cup
– a 36” perpetual trophy; and will be featured, worldwide, in the attract
mode on the Medalist Dart Boards.
* U.S. – based on ratings from the 2010 Spring League
PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE RATING VERIFICATION SECTION IN THIS
BOOK – IF IN DOUBT, RERATE YOURSELF!
Ratings And Parity
At the World Championships Dart Tournament, stats will be recorded in all games and
computed per Medalist’s judgment.
At the conclusion of each day (not window) all players will be rerated to their
cumulative Event (Rolling) Ratings. After having rolled up, players may roll down on
subsequent days but may not roll below their Entry Ratings.
There are no upward limits on Event (Rolling) Ratings. However, players may not be
rated above a 17.
Bust Rule: If, with 15 or more Stat Games* computed, a player’s Event Rating exceeds
their Entry Rating or most immediate Event Rating (whichever is greater) by three or
more points, the player’s team is BUSTED.
A Busted team may not finish higher than fourth place in an event. If a Busted team
progresses to the final four, said team will be eliminated and recognized as finishing in
fourth place.
A Bust rerate becomes permanent following a review between Medalist and the
respective operator after the World Championships Dart Tournament.
* May be adjusted by Medalist based on team count
All events, except Super Singles and Super Doubles, are handicapped. The handicap per
rating points differential is:
Doubles
1501
15
1701
21
901
Cricket
Trios

One mark – must be applied as follows:
two marks on the 16 and the balance on 15 (may score)

Handicaps
Non-Rostered
Replacement Players
Non-rostered Replacement Players (NRPs) may be used (one per team per event)
provided that:
 The NRP is Registered for the Medalist World Championships Dart Tournament
 The NRP meets the game requirement
 For each event, the NRP’s Entry or Event Rating, whichever is greater,
must be equal to or less than the Event Rating of the player being replaced
When a NRP is registered, the NRP must be defined as “Temporary” or
“Permanent”
Temporary – team rating points remain the same, and one reversal is
allowed
Permanent – team rating points are changed to the combined rating points
of the original player(s) and the NRP, and there are no
reversals allowed
There is only one reversal (return of the original player) allowed per event and said
reversal must be at the start of a match – prior to the first dart being thrown and
may not return in mid-match. A reversal may only occur when the NRP was
registered as “Temporary”.
Entry Caps
The Medalist World Championship Dart Tournament is capped at 700 U.S. Players
and 120 International Players.
Picture Rights
Medalist has the right to utilize event pictures for advertising and commercial
purposes. I (we), by entering a Medalist league and/or tournament, agree to said
rights without confirmation or compensation by Medalist.
Age Requirement
In response to the international growth of Medalist World Darts, the World
Championships Dart Tournament Participation Rule has been modified to:
To enter the Medalist World Championships Dart Tournament, players must be
18 years old or of legal age (whichever is older), as defined by the laws
pertaining to the purchase of alcoholic beverages in the country in which they
established their Medalist World Championships Dart Tournament eligibility.
Due to this modification the Spectator Rule is changed to:
To enter the tournament area, spectators must be 18 years old or older.
Players and spectators must possess an acceptable form of identification to enter the
tournament or the tournament area.
This modification does not impact game requirements, ratings, handicaps and/or
parity at the Medalist World Championships Dart Tournament.
