Outline
ƒ What is the Air Pollutant Watch List (APWL)?
ƒ What are Areas of Concern?
ƒ What are Pollutants of Interest?
ƒ What is the Purpose of the APWL?
ƒ How Additions and Removals are handled?
ƒ How We use the APWL?
Texas Clean Air Act
ƒ Section 382.002 of the Texas Health and Safety
Code empowers the TCEQ to regulate ambient
air conditions to protect human health, general
welfare, and physical property from impacts of
air pollution in the ambient air.
ƒ General welfare is defined as “the esthetic
enjoyment of property and the surrounding
environment, which includes animals, vegetation
and manmade property.”
