SGV Postal CU and CU SoCal have worked together to combine the best of
our products and make your account transition as easy as possible for you.
What Will Not Change
Account Access
Loans
Your SGV Postal CU branch will remain open for at least
six months with the same service hours you enjoy today.
Plus, you will gain access to a CU SoCal branch less than
three miles away in Covina, and 5,000 shared branches
and 2,000 self-service locations throughout the United
States, Puerto Rico, Guam, and military bases around
the globe.
There will be no changes to your loan terms or rates.
Your ability to take advances and make automatic
loan payments should continue uninterrupted. Should
a change become necessary at a later date, we will
personally notify those affected.
Great Service
CU SoCal is committed to providing Members with WorldClass Service. You will continue to receive the same
dedicated and friendly Member service from CU SoCal
that you received from SGV Postal CU.
Internal Account-to-Account and
Account-to-Loan Transfers
Your scheduled SGV Postal CU internal account-toaccount and/or account-to-loan transfers should continue
uninterrupted. Should a change become necessary at a
later date, we will personally notify those affected.
Protection Plans
The accidental death and dismemberment protection
plans you purchased through SGV Postal CU will continue
without changes. Should a change become necessary at a
later date, we will personally notify those affected.
Share Insurance
Your shares will continue to be protected by federal
deposit insurance provided through the National Credit
Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), a division of the
National Credit Union Administration and backed by the
full faith and credit of the United States Government.
What May Change
What Will Change
Overdraft Protection
Account Access
Your current overdraft protection, which is “linked” to
your SGV Postal CU Shares will continue in the order
you designated. In addition to this “linked” overdraft
protection, you may be eligible to receive additional
coverage on your checking account which would allow
the payment, rather than return, of non-sufficient fund
transactions. We call this type of non-linked overdraft
protection CU SoCal Courtesy Pay. (See page 28 for
more information.)
Members will have account access through more than
7,000 shared branches/self-service kiosks.
Change In Terms and Fee Schedule
Starting May 1, 2016, your credit union Membership
account terms and schedule of fees will change. Earlier
this month, you were mailed a packet of information
including a new Schedule of Fees and About Your Credit
Union Accounts brochure. We encourage you to review
these pieces and retain them for your records.
Membership Number
Your Membership number will change effective May 1, 2016.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Scheduled Electronic Payments
Please note: After 1 p.m. PDT on Saturday, April 30,
2016 funds available with your SGV Postal CU cards will
be limited to a total of $100 for POS and signature-based
transactions combined, and $110 for ATM withdrawals.
You may begin using your new CU SoCal cards, with
standard limits, after 6 a.m. PDT on Sunday, May 1,
2016. Please plan accordingly.
Electronic payments you have scheduled through SGV
Postal CU Bill Pay will not be made after April 22, 2016.
You will not have access to your SGV Postal CU Bill Pay
payees or bill payment history through CU SoCal’s Online
Banking platform. If you think you will need access to
your payees or history, consider printing them from SGV
Postal CU’s Online Banking before April 22, 2016.

CU SoCal Helping Hands
Member Relations
The credit union philosophy of “People Helping People”
inspired CU SoCal employees in 1997 to form CU SoCal
Helping Hands. CU SoCal Helping Hands is a charitable
non-profit 501(3) (C) corporation that is driven by the
vision of treating Southern California’s needy families with
dignity and respect while providing the basic necessities
of life. The charity provides food, clothing, and financial
assistance to those in need and supports other worthy
charitable organizations.
Comprised of CU SoCal employees, our Member Relations
Committee meets each month to support a number of
charitable organizations and community events including
homeless and domestic abuse shelters, community
outreach programs for health and education, local
museums, music programs, and elderly assistance.

Keeping our Members’ funds safe is a top priority.
CU SoCal’s net worth is well above the National Credit
Union Administration’s (NCUA’s) well-capitalized
requirement. Our strong net worth provides a substantial
cushion to protect Members’ deposits in addition to
NCUA’s federal insurance guarantee.
Members’ shares will be protected by federal deposit
insurance provided through the National Credit Union
Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), a division of the
National Credit Union Administration, and backed by the
full faith and credit of the United States Government.
Your deposits will be federally insured by the NCUSIF to
at least $250,000.
It’s important to know that your funds can be insured to
a much higher level than $250,000 based on how your
accounts are structured. Depending on the type and
ownership of your accounts, you could have more than
$1 million in share insurance coverage.

Courtesy Pay Information
Important to Know About Overdrafts and Overdraft Fees
An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough available
funds in your account to cover a transaction, but we pay it
anyway. We can cover overdrafts in two different ways:
• We have standard overdraft practices that come with your
account. Credit Union of Southern California (CU SoCal)
refers to this as CU SoCal Courtesy Pay.
• We also offer overdraft protection plans, such as a link to a
Savings Account or a Line of Credit—which is less expensive
than our standard overdraft practices. (Please refer to the
Schedule of Fees available online at CUSoCal.org.)
To learn more, ask us about these plans.
This notice explains our standard overdraft practices that we
call CU SoCal Courtesy Pay. The below language does not
apply to overdrafts that are linked to Savings Accounts or
Lines of Credit.
What are the standard overdraft practices that come with my
account?
We do authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of
transactions, unless you opt out:
• Checks and other transactions made using your Checking or
Money Market Account number.
• Automatic bill payments, including those from your Savings
or Checking Accounts.
562.698.8326 • Toll-free 866 CU SoCal (866.287.6225)
We do not authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types
of transactions unless you ask us to do so:
• ATM transactions.
• Everyday debit card transactions.
We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not
guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of
transaction.
If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction
will be declined.
What fees will I be charged if CU SoCal pays my overdraft?
Under our standard overdraft practices:
• We will charge you a fee of $29 each time we pay an
overdraft.
• There is no limit on the total fees we can charge you for
overdrawing your account.
What if I want CU SoCal to authorize and pay overdrafts on my
ATM and everyday debit card transactions?
If you also want us to authorize and pay overdrafts on ATM and
everyday debit card transactions, you may opt in by logging
into CU SoCal Online Banking and clicking on “Check Services”
