the decision making for the future of this great organization and the residents it serves”
Nancy is an asset to the CHISPA board as she brings over 11 years of experience in reaching
out to diverse and underserved communities with programs and services in the Central Coast.

The VNA at CHISPA
During the past two years, the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) and Gabilan Hill Townhomes residents have collaborated to
implement Salud Para Todos, a three-year program that educates residents about preventive health care, early identification of
health issues and health maintenance.
CHISPA Resident Manager Rosaura and VNA identified three resident leaders “Lideres de Salud” who have played an invaluable
role in planning and implementing program. VNA’s registered Nurses Rosie Trapp and Bonnie Tucker also have been key in this
project.
Spotlight on
The program’s short term goal is raise awareness of health risks and to link participants to local health services. The long term
goals are to encourage behavioral changes and to facilitate a clear understanding of the link between lifestyle choices and chronic
health conditions.
Salud Para Todos focuses on parents with young children. These parents can establish lifelong habits and choices which will
benefit the entire family and the community.
This initiative was made possible through funding from The Community Foundation for Monterey County.
