President’s Message
Dear Friends and Supporters,
We are so grateful to you, our friends, volunteers, faith and local
communities, business partners, and charitable organizations, for your
insight and support during this past year.
What a year it has been! We experienced some emotional highs and a few
lows as we pursued the purchase of a new day center for our families. We
have been asked many times about the status of the proposed new day
center location at 27 Hampton Road in Exeter. The Board of Directors has
chosen to stay the course at this location. We have done our due diligence;
reexamined the house and looked at other possible options and locations.
In the end, the site is in a perfect location, listed at a fair price and feels and
looks like a "real home.” It will welcome the families to focus, play and
relax in a more suitable space with a large backyard as they do the hard work
of rebuilding their lives.
We thank our council, Sharon Cuddy Somers of Donahue, Tucker and
Ciandella, PLLC, for her passionate commitment to our day center vision
and we are so grateful to all of our campaign donors for your generosity and
encouragement. Your partnership is invaluable and we will keep you posted
as we go through this process of finalizing our new home.
We thank you all for being part of our growing family and for helping bring
Seacoast Family Promise and its guest families into a bright new future.
With heartfelt thanks,

Director’s Welcome
Our Seacoast Family Promise Family,
We know that homelessness can happen to anyone when a catastrophic
circumstance or even a series of ill-timed events occur. In our daily
encounters, it may be difficult to identify that a family is in distress, or that
their kids’ resilience is being chipped away by the lack of a stable home and
routine. Unfortunately, it’s all too common here in New Hampshire, and we
meet with so many Seacoast neighbors who desperately need our help
during difficult times.
In 2015, Seacoast Family Promise continued to focus on our core mission
of helping our families achieve sustainable independence, and we are elated
to report that 100% of families exiting the program secured long-term
employment and stable housing! Our measurable statistics show that 87% of
the 204 families served have remained stable for over 12 years and that our
volunteer pool has now grown to well over 1,000 caring community
members.
With love, thanks and good thoughts for all that you have done to make our
program a success!
John Decker,
2015 Volunteer of the Year

JACKI’S STORY
Life does not always go as planned, and we often find ourselves in situations
that are less than ideal. Jacki, a single mother of two young boys, found
herself in just such a situation in 2012. Unemployed and without stable
housing, Jacki and her boys entered the Seacoast Family Promise program.
Uncertainty, drastic change and the fear of being in shelter are difficult on
families, but Jacki knew what she had to do to get her life on track and ensure
that her boys had a safe family environment. Jacki’s determination enabled
her to embrace the program and all that it has to offer. She spent her days
providing loving care to her boys, searching for long-term employment,
continuing with her education and searching for affordable housing options.
Jacki, Gianni and Antonio
with Governor Hassan
Jacki was able to enroll Antonio and Gianni in a wonderful preschool
program, which allowed her to work full time. After six months of hard work
and dedication, Jacki and her boys left Seacoast Family Promise for stable
housing. Once on their own and under their own roof, the family continued
to flourish.
Stable now for four years, Jacki and her boys not only keep in touch, but
also share their time volunteering at the Day Center and at special events.
Jacki often talks to current guest families, encouraging them and sharing
her success.
Jacki was recently presented with the Unsung Hero award by Governor
Maggie Hassan for her ability and courage to change her family’s life.
Bravo, Jacki—you are an inspiration to families everywhere and a shining
example of why the work of Seacoast Family Promise is so vital to the
well-being of our community!
Gianni and Antonio
Our Programs – How We Serve
Seacoast Family Promise is a community-based
response to family homelessness.
Families
spend their evenings in one of 10 local
congregations that provide three meals a day, a
safe place to sleep, hospitality and mentoring.
“Volunteering at SFP is a privilege for me. I always
look forward to stopping in, seeing how the garden is
doing, but especially to the enthusiasm of the
children, and the participation of the moms and
dads.”
Carol Chambers,
2015 Day Center Volunteer of the Year
Families in the program
also receive
comprehensive, individualized case management
at our Day Center in Stratham, New Hampshire.
This includes but is not limited to job and financial
counseling services, resume writing, welfare
advocacy, budgeting classes, and counseling
services.
With the assistance of comprehensive care,
families typically return to full independence
within 3-4 months.

QUOTE
Priscilla Fanning,
2015 Coordinator of the Year
When you think about it, volunteers are the
people who founded and launched Seacoast
Family Promise (originally the Greater Hampton
Interfaith Hospitality Network) in 2003.
The work we do helping children and families
cannot happen without the support of the
hundreds of volunteers who contribute their
time, energy, heart and skills to Seacoast Family
Promise. As we reflect on 2015, we’d like to take
our hats off to all of those volunteers who make a
difference every day in the lives of our families.
We are grateful to have individuals and groups
from
local
faith
communities,
schools,
businesses, municipalities, and community
organizations who share their time, their counsel,
and their resources with us.
Volunteers of Community
Congregational Church of Greenland
In any organization, especially a grassroots one,
volunteers are a key component of success.
Seacoast Family Promise cherishes our
volunteers and the support they offer our
families. We would like to humbly and sincerely
thank you for the love and passion you show
each and every day. Our kids, families, staff,
board and community could not function without
your help.
