The SG3000 capilary tube refrigeration super analyzer operation
The Stargate SG3000 Patent Peding Refrigeration Superheat Analyzer and Service Tool Connecting the SG3000 to an air conditioning system to read sub cooling values. IMPORTANT – Prior to using the SG3000, make sure that the air conditioning system is operating in accordance with manufacturers specifications. In addition, make sure all coils are clean and free flowing. The SG3000 will not operate properly if these parameters are not met. 1. Turn the thermostat down to make sure the system will operate in the cooling mode so the subcooling service procedure can be performed. 2. Turn on the transmitter unit by depressing the power button in. (Diagram 3/1). 3. Turn on the receiver unit to check the batteries and perform a Data link test (start up test) Displayed Test results Data Link Test = OK (Transmitter has linked with the receiver) TXBATT = xx.xx V OK RXBATT = xx.xx V OK If the batteries are low and need to be replaced or charged, the display will indicate this. SG3000 Receiver Unit 4. Connect the transmitter pipe clamp temperature sensor TXT1 (Table 1) to the smaller high pressure line entering the indoor evaporator coil. SG3000 Remote Transmitter 5. Connect the RXP1 (Table 1) pressure input port to the low side return line service port. Connect the RXP2 (Table 1) pressure input port to the High side line service port. 6. Now press the (# 2) on the receiver (“This will display the show all sensors screen” (Table 2) and verify that you have valid readings from all the sensors and that the sensors are connected to the correct inputs on the receiver unit. Make sure the readings are within the range limits of the sub cooling charts for the refrigerants you are testing or the system will not be able to calculate the sub cooling values. 7. Press “CLEAR” to return to the main menu. 8. Press (# 1) on the receiver keypad to start the superheat-sub cool program. Enter your refrigerant and system type to calculate the sub cooling values of the refrigeration system. Go outside to the refrigeration condensing unit and mount the RXT1 sensor (Table 1) on the inlet side of the coil on the condensing unit, out of direct sunlight, if possible. Make sure you are reading the air entering the condenser coil and not the air leaving the coil or the receiver will not give you the correct superheat readings. 6. Connect the pipe clamp temperature sensor RXT2 (Table 1) to the Low side return line, as close to the low side access valve as possible. 7. Connect the RXP1 (Table 1) pressure input port to the Low side return line. Connect the RXP2 (Table 1) pressure input port to the High side line service port. 8. Now press the (# 2) on the receiver (“This will display the show all sensors screen” (Table 2) and verify that you have valid readings from all the sensors and that the sensors are connected to the correct inputs on the receiver unit. Press “CLEAR” to return to the main menu. 10. Press (# 1) on the receiver keypad to start the superheat-subcool program. Enter your refrigerant and system type to calculate the total superheat values of the refrigeration system.
