ATTACH ONE SIDE OF THE CROSS ARM CLAMP TO THE BOLT ON ONE OF THE RAMPS THEN USING THE WASHER AND NUT ALREADY REMOVED, TIGHTEN THE CROSS ARM CLAMP TO THE BOTTOM OF THE RAMP. REPEAT THIS PROCESS ON THE END OF THE OTHER RAMP BEING ATTACHED, AND ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE 2 RAMPS (SHOWN IN PICTURE) CROSS ARM CLAMPS (LOOSEN BOLTS ON CLAMPS SO THEY ROTATE FREELY) -SLIDE LEGS INTO LEG CLAMPS AND POSITION RAMP TO THE CORRECT HEIGHT AND TIGHTEN DOWN LEG CLAMPS *NOTE: ADA REQUIRES RAMP SLOPE 1:12 APPROX. 4.7~ 5/16" x 2" BOLT (ALREADY INSTALLED AT THE END OF RAMPS, RAMPS ARE SYMMETRICAL BOTH ENDS ARE THE SAME) **NOTE: TORQUE ALL BOLTS BETWEEN 200inlb - 250inlb 02/27/2012 9 of 24 -ATTACHING THE RAMP TO THE TURN BACK PLATFORM IS SIMILAR TO ATTACHING IT TO THE FIRST PLATFORM IN STEP 3. THE ONLY THING THAT IS DIFFERENT IS THE STEEL BRACKET NEEDS TO BE TURNED UPSIDE DOWN -SET THE FIRST PART OF THE TURN BACK PLATFORM UP THE SAME AS STEPS 1 AND 2 1st PLATFORM FOR TURN BACK 3 1 1/2" GAP WILL BE ON THIS SIDE OF PLATFORM -THIS PLATFORM SHOULD BE 12" LOWER THAN THE PLATFORM AT THE DOOR OR 18" LOWER DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH RAMP IS BETWEEN THESE 2 PLATFORMS 2 PLATFORM AT DOOR **NOTE: TORQUE ALL BOLTS BETWEEN 200inlb - 250inlb 02/27/2012 1 10 of 24 PROGRESS 1. LEG AND FOOTPAD ASSEMBLY 2. ATTACHING RAMPS TO PLATFORMS (TOP AND BOTTOM) 3. CONNECTING 2 RAMPS TOGETHER USING THE CROSS ARM ASSEMBLY 5. BOLTING 2 PLATFORMS TOGETHER -POSITION THE 2nd PLATFORM OF THE TURN BACK SO THAT THE STRINGERS THAT ARE UPSIDE DOWN MATCH UP (SHOWN IN PICTURE) -USING A 3/8" x 1-1/2" BOLT CONNECT THE 2 PLATFORMS TOGETHER AND TIGHTEN DOWN (THE PRE DRILLED HOLES IN THE STRINGERS SHOULD LINE UP) STRINGERS TURNED DOWN (MATCH PLATFORMS UP AS SHOWN) 3/8" x 1-1/2" BOLT (BOTTOM OF PLATFORM) **NOTE: TORQUE ALL BOLTS BETWEEN 200inlb - 250inlb 02/27/2012 11 of 24 -ONCE THE TURN BACK PLATFORMS ARE IN PLACE, ATTACH THE NEXT 6' RAMP SECTION BY FOLLOWING THE SAME DIRECTIONS DESCRIBED IN STEP 3. (THE SAME WAY THE FIRST 6' RAMP WAS ATTACHED TO THE TOP PLATFORM.) -CONTINUE ATTACHING THE LAST 2 SECTIONS OF RAMP USING THE METHOD DESCRIBED IN STEP 4. **NOTE: TORQUE ALL BOLTS BETWEEN 200inlb - 250inlb 02/27/2012 12 of 24 6. ATTACH BEVEL TO END OF RAMP STEP # 1 STEP # 2 ROTATE UP L COMPLETED DETAIL L 02/27/2012 13 of 24 LEFT SIDE (WALKING UP THE RAMP) 7. INSTALLING RAILS ON RAMPS -LOCATE THE 6' RAILING PANELS. THERE WILL BE 2 SEPARATE TYPES ANGLED DIFFERENTLY FOR EACH SIDE OF THE RAMP -EACH PANEL HAS 4 MOUNTING HOLES THAT MATCH THE PRE DRILLED HOLES ON THE RAMP. USING THE 5/16" X 2" BOLTS (WASHERS AND NUTS) ATTACH THE RAILING TO THE RAMP SECTIONS RIGHT SIDE (WALKING UP THE RAMP) -REPEAT THIS STEP FOR ALL RAIL PANELS ON THE RAMPS **NOTE: TORQUE ALL BOLTS BETWEEN 200inlb - 250inlb 02/27/2012 5/16" x 2" BOLT (x4 FOR EACH PANEL) 14 of 24 5/16" x 3-1/2" BOLT P -BOLT THE RAIL PANELS TO EACH OTHER USING THE 5/16" x 3-1/2" BOLT, NUT, AND WASHER. (SHOWN IN PICTURE) -USING THE 1/4" SELF TAPPING SCREW ATTACH THE BRACKET TO THE RAMP RAIL. **NOTE: MAY NEED TO CUT OFF OVERHANG IF ANY -USE THE SAME PROCEDURE TO ATTACH THE RAMP RAIL PANEL TO THE PLATFORM RAIL PANEL (3 PLACES TOTAL) 1/4" x 1" SELF TAPPING SCREW (x2) -THERE WILL ALSO BE A GAP WHERE THE 2 PLATFORM RAILS MEET TOGETHER IN THE CORNERS -ATTACH THE ANGLE BRACKET USING THE 5/16" x 2" BOLT IN THE PRE DRILLED HOLES ON THE PLATFORM RAIL -USE THE SAME PROCEDURE TO ATTACH ALL THE PLATFORM RAILS (3 PLACES TOTAL) **NOTE: TORQUE ALL BOLTS BETWEEN 200inlb - 250inlb 02/27/2012 20 of 24 5/16" x 2" BOLT (x4) 10. INSTALLING INNER RAILING -LOCATE THE 1-1/2" TUBING AND THE HANDRAIL SUPPORT MOUNTS SHOWN IN THE PICTURE -FIND THE CORRECT LENGTH OF PIECES TO FIT THE LENGTH OF RAMP THE RAILING WILL BE INSTALLED ON -USE 1/8" SELF TAPPING SCREW TO ATTACH THE HANDRAIL TUBE TO THE SUPPORT MOUNTS NOTE: PLACE SCREW ON THE BOTTOM SIDE OF HANDRAIL AS SHOWN HANDRAIL MOUNT SUPPORT 1/8" SELF TAPPING SCREW 1-1/2" HANDRAIL TUBING (NOT SHOWN WITH CORRECT LENGTH) 02/27/2012 21 of 24 -ONCE THE INNER RAIL IS ASSEMBLED ATTACH IT TO THE RAMP USING THE 5/16" x 2-1/2" BOLT (THESE BOLTS WILL SCREW INTO THE INSERTS PRE INSTALLED IN THE HANDRAIL MOUNTS) -THE HOLES WILL NEED TO BE DRILLED IN THE RAIL PANELS USING A 3/8" DRILL BIT. THE TOP OF THE INNER RAILING MUST BE BETWEEN 34" AND 36" ABOVE THE RAMP SURFACE **NOTE: ENTIRE ASSEMBLY NOT SHOWN FOR CLARITY 5/16" x 2-1/2" BOLT INNER RAIL ASSEMBLY **NOTE: 02/27/2012 TORQUE ALL BOLTS BETWEEN 200inlb - 250inlb 22 of 24 10. INSTALLING ANSI LOOPS -INSTALL AN ADDITIONAL HANDRAIL SUPPORT MOUNT AT THE TOP AND BOTTOM OF THE RAMPS (SHOWN IN PICTURE) THIS EXTRA MOUNT WILL BE 12-1/4" BELOW THE TOP MOUNT. -ATTACH THE ANSI LOOP TO THE TWO SUPPORT MOUNTS USING THE 1/8" SELF TAPPING SCREW SIMILAR TO PUTTING THE INNER RAIL TOGETHER -PLACE A BLACK PLASTIC CAP ON THE BOTTOM SUPPORT MOUNT TO COVER THE EXPOSED HOLE -NOTE: THE ANSI LOOP AT THE BOTTOM OF THE RAMPS NEED TO BE POSITIONED SO THEY ANGLE UP AND AT THE TOP THEY NEED TO BE ANGLED DOWN (SHOWN IN PICTURE) ANSI LOOP 1-1/2" PLASTIC CAP (COVERS EXPOSED HOLE) 5/16" x 2-1/2" BOLT **NOTE: TORQUE ALL BOLTS BETWEEN 200inlb - 250inlb 02/27/2012 EXTRA HANDRAIL SUPPORT MOUNT 23 of 24 11.
