General Business 8.1 Alcohol Accord – Skipper Program Cr Cook distributed a list of local venues and requested members put their name down to speak to the manager/owner of each venue. Jason advised that the Development Services Team (Compliance), were looking at the installation of a parking bay to be used as a temporary holding point due to the following issues: Page 3 ______________________________________________________________________________ o o Vehicles lining up on Sandridge Road to enter the Full of Beanz entry point; Lack of visibility when leaving the site due to situation of poles, advertising and vehicles waiting to enter the site. Jason is to speak to Development Services to find out what is proposed to address the issues at the site and report back to the Bunbury Region RoadWise Committee. 8.3 #121 King Road – Request for comment on proposed “electronic graphic display signage”. Comments: High volume traffic area; Identified by Bunbury Police as a “hotspot” qualifying for a red light camera; Community based advertising was to be located in this location. Motion: The Bunbury Region RoadWise Committee strongly objects to the “Electronic Graphic Display Screen” proposed for #121 King Road, East Bunbury, as well as any other static signage that may contribute to driver distraction at this important intersection. Furthermore, the Bunbury Region RoadWise Committee requests that the Development Application be referred to Main Roads WA for comment. Committee Decision: Moved: Sgt Craig Clarke Seconded: Brad Brooksby CARRIED 8.4 Mobile Phone Promo - Dardanup and Bunbury Initiative Cr McCleary advised that the mobile phone campaign “M8 it can W8” was very successful. Rachel to invite the Dardanup RoadWise Committee to the Bunbury Region RoadWise Committee Meeting on the 3 December 2014. 8.5 SAFEPL8 anti-theft screws for Licence Plates Cr McCleary requested that this item be added to the Action Plan. Cr McCleary will speak with Stephanie Smith from the Bunbury Police about a joint initiative to take place, possibly at Bunnings, highlighting the beneficial use of the SAFEPL8 system. 8.6 Child Car Restraint Fitting Course 52546WA Course in Type 1 Child Car Restraint Fitting to take place in Bunbury in June 2015 – Regional Trip Expression of Interest Form distributed. Rachel to investigate whether RoadWise Committee Members would be covered by City of Bunbury insurance ($10M Public Liability coverage). 8.7 Bunbury Region RoadWise Christmas Message Rachel to produce a Christmas Message. Actions Required after Meeting Cr McCleary Cr McCleary to liaise with Stephanie Smith (Bunbury Police) to set up an information day bringing the SAFEP8 anti-theft campaign to the public’s attention; Cr McCleary to discuss the “Click to Save” initiative with the Hon John Castrilli MLA; Cr Cook to speak to Lee-Maree Gallo (COB Media Officer) regarding the Skipper Program and the businesses that have agreed to take part. Gavan Hayllar Gavan to request a progress report from the Youth Driver Development Program regarding any issues they have faced; Gavan to provide the Bunbury Region RoadWise Committee with a copy of the ANCAP leaflets to be distributed to Year 10 and Year 11 students; Gavan to supply Cr McCleary with 10 x Skipper Program “Introduction Packages” to give to each establishment before the next meeting in December; Gavan to produce a statement of success to be provided to WALGA re the M8 it can W8 campaign; Gavan to investigate the purchase of 1 x pull up banner, 1 tablecloth and some tshirts/polo shirts.
