Mobile Technology Cab Suspension FDE2-... 1. DESCRIPTION E 10.116.6.0/07.11 1.1. APPLICATIONS zz Agricultural machinery zz Construction machinery zz Special vehicles 1.2. GENERAL FDE2 is an intelligent suspension strut for cab suspension on virtually all vehicles. The strut reduces the vibrations which cause driver strain, without affecting the ride and operability. The distinctive feature of this unit lies in the integration of two components, the suspension and the damper, into the strut. The suspension accumulator must be sized according to the requirements of the vehicle in order to achieve the best system overall. 1.2. Advantages zz Greatly reduced acceleration in the vertical direction zz Reduced roll and pitch zz Reduction in movement of the driver relative to the instruments zz Improved comfort zz Contributes to Health & Safety at Work compliance 2. 2.1. Characteristics The innovative feature of this unit lies in the integration of two components, the suspension and the damper, into the strut. 2.5.1 Passive model With its low-friction suspension cylinder specially developed for the application, the suspension is able to react extremely quickly. Thanks to the integrated linear measurement system and the level control, the full spring travel is always available. Co-ordination of the spring curve and the damping produces a suspension system which is adapted to the vehicle. 2.5.2 Semi-active cab suspension Up to now, vehicle builders had to define a setting for spring and damper at the factory which usually resulted in a compromise. The FDE from HYDAC does away with the necessity to compromise. The low frequency spring design provides the highest level of ride comfort, whilst the damping rate can simultaneously be adjusted to the load condition of the vehicle. 2.6 Mechanical load capacity and safety information Important: Bump-stop impacts must not be absorbed by the suspension unit. For on-board ROPS and FOPS approvals, mechanical bump-stop buffers must be provided. The suspension units must be installed such that they are not subject to transverse forces. 2.5.2.1Damping characteristic diagram for semi-active version 2.5.2.2 Pin connections for semi-active model (Deutsch connection DTM6P-BT) E 10.116.6.0/07.11 Not used 3 3.
