VPAM BRV 2009 VR7 CERTIFICATION
Streit Group, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of armored vehicles, is proud to announce that
it has been approved for the internationally recognized VPAM BRV 2009 VR7 certification.
The certification is based upon rigorous and extensive testing by the independent and world renowned
ballistic laboratory in Germany, Beschussamt Munich.
A Streit manufactured Toyota Land Cruiser passed a series of ballistic tests designed to test the vehicle
to the extremities of its capacity to withstand any penetration of its armoring. A pre-requisite for
successful completion of the testing was that the vehicle was able to defeat both ballistic and blast
testing with no deformation or breach of its armoring, thereby ensuring that all passengers in the
vehicle would survive such an attack with no fatalities.

In addition, the vehicle was subjected to a number of blast scenarios during the testing process,
including the detonation of x2 DM-51 German ordnance hand grenades and x1 Swiss HG-85 round
fragmentation hand grenade on both the floor and the roof as well as the discharge of x1 DM-31 anti
personnel fragmentation land mine underneath the vehicle. 12.5kg of PETN military grade explosive,
a blast equivalent to 17kg of TNT explosive charge, was also detonated 4m away from the side of the
vehicle.
The results of the testing confirmed that the Streit test vehicle passed the test with no penetrations in
the passenger cabin. This officially verifies the vehicle as a VR7 certified armored vehicle, with highly
advanced ballistic and blast protection and offering greater protection for its occupants than those
armored vehicles that do not have the same certification.
The Streit manufactured VR7 certified Land Cruiser 200 Series will be able to safeguard all occupants,
from security personnel to high-ranking politicians, corporate executives and VIPs against terrorist
attack with high-calibre ammunition and explosives by meeting the strict VPAM BRV 2009 VR7 standard.
The VR7 certification requires the entire surface
area of the armored vehicle to be subjected to
a comprehensive destructive testing process.
Multiple shots and blasts impact upon the
vehicle to ensure that the armoring will
withstand the appropriate type of ammunition
that it is rated for.
The certification process started with a
painstaking inspection of the Streit vehicle
design and a comprehensive understanding of
the manufacturing process. Potential weak areas
were identified and thereafter a comprehensive
series of live fire tests was conducted during the
course of five days by the testing engineers from
Beschussamt Munich. These tests addressed all
aspects of the vehicle - the doors and windows,
the firewall, windshield, side panels, pillars, door
seams, roof and rear hatch, and all apertures
of the vehicle to test for any weakness in the
armoring. In all, the vehicle was subjected to
more than 340 shots, taken from any angle at all
aspects of the vehicle, using both 7.62x51mm
and 5.56x45mm SS109 ammunition.

Thank you from all of us here at Streit, for your interest in our company. Streit Manufacturing Inc.
was started over a decade ago with nothing more than a handful of tools, a rented garage and some
overextended credit. The vision was to create the most innovative and cost effective protection vehicles
the market had ever seen. Our first contract was to build three armored vans; we worked non-stop to
complete the project and delivered the vehicles ahead of schedule. Those first vans, hand made by
Streit, are still in service as back-up vehicles to this day. Much has changed since those early days; Streit
now employs a workforce of over 300 highly skilled craftsmen in four production facilities across North
America and the Middle East. Our combined capacity is over 160 completed vehicles per month. Even
as the company has continued to grow, my commitment to the original vision has not wavered. I still
spend many hours on the production floor each week maintaining a hands on approach to the running
of each company within the group. In this way I ensure that each one of our vehicles meets the level of
quality our clients have come to expect; the same quality I put into those first three vans. I invite you

Streit Group is one of the world’s largest armored
vehicle manufacturing companies. With offices in the
Middle East, Canada, the United States and Russia
we conduct business in over 100 countries. We are
engaged in all aspects of the industry including
research and development, production, marketing
and logistics and our production capabilities are
more than 160 armored vehicles per month. Our hard
work and dedication to produce high quality armored
vehicles has saved countless lives since our formation
in 1996.
Streit Group entered the market of armored cars in
1996 by producing vehicles for the cash-in-transit
industry. By the late 1990’s our client base had
expanded to include government agencies and
organizations (civil, law enforcement, military),
private security companies and protection for
individuals. All of these markets expressed a growing
need for specialized armored vehicles. To answer the
growing demand for armored vehicles Streit Group
increased its manufacturing capability by increasing
the production floor area from 2,000 sq ft to 35,000 sq
ft allowing us to produce 40 vehicles a month.
In 2005 two production facilities were opened in the
Middle East. The production facilities in Dubai and
Ras Al Khaimah are strategically located and allow the
quick deployment of armored vehicles to countries
that are in high demand for these products. Sales and
Support offices have been opened in Afghanistan,
Iraq and Lebanon and allow us to focus on a quick and
uninterrupted flow of products and materials. With
the addition of these 2 facilities, we increased our
production area to over 100,000 sq ft and production
capacity to 160 vehicles per month. In July 2008 Streit
Group opened a manufacturing facility in Charleston,
South Carolina (USA) to provide additional resources
to meet an ever-growing demand.
In August 2009 Streit Group started production in
Russia. We are producing various multi-purpose
armored vehicles using the latest manufacturing,
machinery and advanced technologies.
As we look to the future and further expansion
we stand proud of our accomplishments. We have
the capability to customize and adapt to the everchanging need for multi-purpose armored vehicles
by our clients. We remain highly focused on the
needs of our clients and our goal is to always exceed
their expectations, by producing the highest quality
armored vehicles from luxury cars to heavy-duty
trucks.

Streit’s history of manufacturing in the Middle East goes back to 2005 and now we are the leading
independent provider to the Middle East vehicle market. Streit has two manufacturing facilities in the
Middle East, both of which are located in UAE. Streit Security Vehicles is operated in Ras Al Khaimah Free
Zone and Streit Middle East in Jebel Ali Free Zone.
Streit Security Vehicle in Ras Al Khaimah focuses on the production of Toyota models, while Streit Middle
East, Jebel Ali specializes on commercial, cash transit and special project vehicles. Both facilities are able to
design and produce custom order vehicles. Streit has recently invested in a new design/engineering facility
located in UAE complete with advanced CNC equipment, such as the Trumpf laser cutter, CNC press brake,
plasma cutter and 3D scanners. Launched in 2008 this latest addition to Streit’s infrastructure has expanded
the company’s manufacturing capabilities in the region.
Streit’s greatest advantage in the Middle East is our large selection of armored vehicle inventory. Streit
maintains a complete inventory from the finest luxury cars to tactical security vehicles. Streit is therefore able
to offer a wide vehicle selection from stock which can be in active service as quickly as required, anywhere
in the world. Streit’s capacity in the Middle East has already made Streit Group the primary supplier to many
government agencies and other top ranked global companies. Streit Group offers the greatest coverage in
the region with dealer and service locations throughout the Middle East. Our dealer and service network
handle new sales and after-sale parts and service support. The service center network covers Afghanistan,
Iraq, Jordan, United Arab Emirates and Lebanon. (Streit further extends its reach with service centers in
Nigeria, Russia, Canada, and USA).

CANADIAN PRODUCTION PLANT
Streit Manufacturing Inc. is the original production facility of the Streit Group of Companies. The plant houses
a fully certified engineering team, state of the art machine shop, and over 35,000 square feet of manufacturing
space complete with paint line. The full range of capabilities at Streit Manufacturing Inc. means that almost
any type of vehicle can be designed and armored at this location. Whether manufacturing a tactical security
vehicle from scratch or up armoring the latest model of luxury vehicle Streit Manufacturing Inc. is capable of
engineering and building the vehicle to a ballistic protection level appropriate for your needs.
Technical advantages at Streit Manufacturing Inc. include a Trumpf CNC Laser cutter capable of machining
through an inch of hardened steel and a state of the art Trumpf CNC 320,000 press brake. The laser cutter
ensures the pinpoint accuracy and precision fit critical for quality vehicle armoring. Our machine shop has
the capacity to create 6 precision ballistic protection kits per day for any of our vehicles. Streit Manufacturing
Inc. is the main production facility for all of our commercial and high-end luxury vehicles. Our company
manufactures a wide variety of commercial units; the most common chassis’ modified include Ford, General
Motors, Toyota, International and Freightliner.
Streit Manufacturing Inc. produces a wide variety of luxury vehicles including: Mercedes Benz S-Series & G
Series Wagons, BMW 5, 7 & X Series, Nissan Armada, Range Rover, Cadillac DTS, Lexus LX570 & LS 470 as
well as Maybach 57S and Bentley Arnage T for the truly demanding client. All Streit’s armored vehicles fully
resemble the original OEM vehicle - down to the minute details of the decorative trim. Special projects at Streit
Manufacturing Inc. include police or paramilitary vehicles. Streit Manufacturing is currently designing some of
the most aggressive performing SWAT, RRT, ERT, and Riot control vehicles in the industry. Customers in these
industries typically require customization and can work directly with Streit engineers to design and modify a

USA PRODUCTION PLANT
Streit USA Armoring is the newest member of the Streit Group of Companies. This manufacturing and
sales center is dedicated to the design, manufacture and distribution of armored sport utility vehicles for
government, commercial and civilian use in the United States and around the world. The 30,000 square foot
facility is strategically located in North Charleston, SC. Streit selected South Carolina as the location for its US
operations because of the area’s manufacturing infrastructure, skilled workforce, and proximity to the world
class shipping port of Charleston. Streit’s domestic presence ensures that US customers will get the attention
and support required to make critical decisions when buying armored vehicles in the United States.
Streit USA builds vehicles to industry leading standards and is a showcase of production efficiency.
Implementing the principles of Lean Sigma Six, the company produces its ballistic and blast resistant vehicles
in an assembly line process. Quality is built into every step as vehicles pass from operation to operation until
completed. Focusing on the quick and uninterrupted flow of products and materials enables Streit USA to
provide the right product at the right time for a competitive price - even for custom armoring requirements.

with our customers. Many of the vehicles that we produce are
subjected to the ultimate testing, that is they come under actual
ballistic or blast attack situations. Our vehicles have exhibited
superior resistance to attack and have saved many lives over the

refurbishment after such situations and Streit has organized a
group of service centers worldwide who are equipped to handle
replacement of key components quickly from stock. This ensures
that all customers in all countries receive the necessary support
in order to keep their vehicles operational and in service.”

Our Sales offices have been centralized in 2 locations, Streit Manufacturing Inc. in Canada and Streit Group
in Middle East. Due to time zone restrictions around the world and for the benefit of our Western customers,
the Canadian office has continued to provide sales assistance from our offices in Ontario, Canada. Streit
Manufacturing Inc. is dedicated to ensure that our clients are able to speak with an experienced sales
representative directly anytime that they require assistance.
Our Middle East sales office, Streit Group FZE, is located at the company headquarters, in Jebel Ali in the UAE.
This office will handle all sales enquires from clients around the world. Our dedicated and knowledgeable
staff are ready to assist all clients with technical advice, vehicle pricing, delivery and specific information to
determine the right vehicle for every situation.
Our warranty department has been established at our head
office to handle all warranty claims around the world. In this way
we ensure that all warranty claims are handled quickly, efficiently
and fairly to all customers regardless of their location in the world.
Centralizing the warranty department also ensures consistent
quality of service for every situation that occurs.
Our warranty is comprehensive and covers repairs to all armor
related components for up to 2 years and 40,000 km. This warranty
is among the best in the business considering the testing
conditions in which many of our vehicles are being operated.
Although we have built 1000s of vehicles to date, our warranty
claims remain extremely low due to the quality of manufacturing
from all production facilities within Streit Group.

QUALITY ASSURANCE
QUALITY ASSURANCE
Streit Group of Companies has developed quality assurance policies and procedures that are common
and practiced between all four of our manufacturing facilities.
Inspection
All vehicles are subjected to four categories of documented inspections from the time of chassis delivery
to the finished product being shipped. These include receiving inspection, in-process inspection, post
production inspection and pre-delivery inspection.
1. Receiving Inspection
As the new chassis arrives at our facility the vehicle is inspected for any damage before it can proceed
to production.
2. In-Process Inspection
Each vehicle is visually inspected daily by qualified quality control inspectors. The inspectors document
each process throughout production of each vehicle.
3. Post Production
Once the armoring process is complete, our quality inspectors will subject the vehicle to a post
production inspection. This inspection consists of a complete vehicle interior inspection to ensure
correct fit and finish, exterior inspection to ensure there are no flaws or damage and a road test to
ensure the vehicle is operating at optimal performance.
4. Pre-Delivery Inspection
Before the vehicle is loaded for shipping, our quality control inspectors will thoroughly inspect the
vehicle one last time to confirm the accuracy of the previous inspections.
Documentation
Extensive documentation is maintained for each vehicle throughout the manufacturing process. We
retain all vehicle inspections, glass, steel certifications and all documentation pertaining to the vehicle
for future reference and traceability.
Streit is ISO 9001 : 2008 certified and adheres to the ISO policies and procedures in order to maintain
high quality control standards and promote continuous improvement.

Ballistics specifications describe the required threat that a material must be able to defeat. These
requirements apply to any material, whether steel, composite or even concrete.
Ballistics specifications are internationally recognized standards used when deciding on the level of
protection required. Once the protection level is determined, then the appropriate materials will be
selected.

Standards vary depending on the region where vehicles are in use, the most common standards are:

The Nissan brand is well respected worldwide and extremely reliable, the PKB ‘s versatile platform
and 10 ton payload can be used for cargo or an armored 25 passenger low profile troop transport
(disguised as a cargo truck). The 6.9L turbo charged diesel engine provides impressive low end torque

Streit Group vehicles have survived countless attacks and saved many lives.
Sniper attack - 8 vehicle convoy. Aggressors’ intentions were to disable the first vehicle, block the
remaining convoy and continue attacking. Vehicle armoring successfully obstructed attack and all 25
persons escaped unharmed.
VIP in rear seat of vehicle was the target in this attack. Gunmen planned to assassinate target at
intersection and were unaware of vehicle armoring. Attempted assassination of the VIP was repelled
by Streit armored vehicle. The occupants escaped without harm. Gunmen continued to shoot as vehicle
sped away with slots hitting wheel well, bumper and gas tank. Streit armoring is continuous box section
inside vehicle to prevent all penetration into passenger compartment from any angle or position.
Sniper attack - convoy at intersection. Attack came from upper floor of building. Sniper must have
suspected vehicle to be armored as attack was focused on door seams. Two extremely accurate shots
within 1 inch of each other; both shots were repelled by armored door overlap.
A common practice is to attack tires and disable the vehicle. Streit Group uses run-flat inserts in all tires
as standard protection from this type of attack.
IED’s (Improvised Explosive Devices) have become a common method of attack. It is not possible to
protect against all IED’s since the power and shrapnel used varies dramatically.
Streit Group overlaps at each door to block attacks on door seams. Vehicle successfully blocked attack
and convoy avoided capture.
Streit vehicles have demonstrated the ability to protect against IED’s in many attacks. Often the vehicle
is destroyed but the occupants have survived due to our armored ‘box within a box’ design. This method
of construction creates an extremely strong internal protection compartment which has proven to
resist IED attacks.
