Repair Estimates Policy
We charge $50 for a repair estimate. If we complete the repair, the full $50
estimate fee is waived. If you choose to not complete the repair you will be
charged the $50 estimate fee plus the inbound and return FedEx shipping
charges for the tool. The tool will be reassembled using the existing parts with
no guarantee or warranty of functionality or performance.
SUPERCEDED PARTS Policy
As part of our continuous product improvement, certain parts are sometimes
superseded by an improved or updated part. In these cases, the actual
model numbers of the parts we replace may differ from those listed in this
literature but we guarantee that all the parts listed for each repair package
will be replaced in regards to placement and function within the tool.
WARRANTY Policy
We warranty all repairs will be free from defects in parts and workmanship
for a period of 1 year from the date of the repair. This applies only to the
specific parts that were replaced as part of the repair. Common wear and
consumable parts are excluded.

Get the Repairs You Want - FAST!
Repair Packages - the easiest and quickest way to bring your tools back
to life. Each Package has been specifically designed to replace all the parts
that typically work together in an area of the tool. In most instances, simply
replacing the one part that failed does not result in the optimal operation of the
tool. This is because the part that failed is probably surrounded by other parts
with significant wear on them. It’s necessary to replace these other parts at the
same time to keep the tool in top condition.
A la carte Repairs - Our technicians will analyze your tool and provide an
itemized quote for approval. This option is recommended if you want to replace
just a few parts or if you want to add a few parts to one of our packages.
Note: A la carte repairs can add time to the overall repair cycle as it requires a quote and your written
approval prior to starting the repairs.
With all ProService Repair Packages or A la Carte repairs, TapeTech sends back
all the parts that we replaced on your tool along with the repaired tool. This is
further piece of mind that all the identified parts for your repair were replaced.

Taper Tune Up with Brake Upgrade
Description of Services
Keep your automatic taper operating smoothly with a standard Taper Tune
Up. We will professionally clean your taper then replace all common wear
parts with genuine TapeTech parts. Then we’ll lubricate all the moving parts
on the taper and adjust the tool to factory settings.
Add to your taper’s performance with a standard Tune Up plus an upgrade
to our new adjustable wheel brake. We will thoroughly clean your taper
then replace all common wear parts with genuine TapeTech parts. We’ll
upgrade the brake on your taper to the new adjustable brake then give it a
professional cleaning, lubricate all the moving parts on the taper and adjust
the tool to factory settings.

The Taper Head is like the chassis of your truck or van; if it’s not solid, all the
moving parts attached to it won’t function properly. If your taper has miles
and miles of experience it may be time to replace the head. Included with
the Taper Head Package is a FREE Taper Tune Up where we replace all the
common wear parts with genuine TapeTech parts. After we’ve changed the
head and tuned up your taper we’ll give it a professional cleaning, lubricate

Taper Control Components Package
The Control Components of the Taper are the Control Tube and the spool
and keeper assembly and bands that hold the roll of paper tape. You actuate
your control tube hundreds of time every day and key parts become worn
over time. To keep this area of the taper in top condition, we can replace
the control components. Included with the Control Components Package is
a FREE Taper Tune Up where we replace all the common wear parts with
genuine TapeTech parts. After we’ve changed the control components and
tuned up your taper we’ll give it a professional cleaning, lubricate all the

Taper Subassembly Package
If the Taper Head is the chassis of your tool, the Subassemblies are the
transmission, clutch and engine. These are the parts that advance the tape,
cut the tape, allow the taper to be filled, turn the taper on and off, pull the
compound through the tube and roll the taper along the wall or ceiling.
Essentially, all the moving parts at the business end of the Taper. After time,
these parts need to be repaired and since they work together to make the
tool run smoothly they should be repaired together. Included with the Taper
Subassembly Package is a FREE Taper Tune Up where we replace all the
common wear parts with genuine TapeTech parts. After we’ve repaired the
subassemblies and tuned up your taper we’ll give it a professional cleaning,
lubricate all the moving parts on the tool and adjust the tool to factory settings.

Corner Finisher Tune Up
Keep your Corner Finishers in top condition and calibrated to produce perfect
internal corners every time. The Tune Up replaces the upper and lower
center clips to restore frame and blade alignment, the tension springs to
restore factory calibration and action and the skids to reduce edging and
sanding of joint compound. New “O” Rings on the wheels of the 48TT or
48XTT eliminate wheel marks and provide smooth performance. After we’ve
changed these parts we’ll give the Corner Finisher a professional cleaning,
lubricate all the moving parts and calibrate the tool to factory settings.

Corner Applicator Tune Up
Corner Roller Tune Up
Keep your Corner Applicator in top condition. We’ll professionally clean the
tool then change the pressure plate wiper and the seal at the hinge to ensure
leak-free performance. Finally, we’ll lubricate all the moving parts and adjust

Corner Roller Upgrade
Nail Spotter Tune Up
If you have an older corner roller with the external c-clips securing the
rollers, consider upgrading to the newer style studs with standard nuts. This
style is easier to be maintained in the field if you decide to maintain the tool
yourself. In this package we’ll replace the inner and outer rollers along with
the studs, washers and nuts. After we’ve changed these parts we’ll give
the Corner Roller a professional cleaning, lubricate all the moving parts and
adjust the tool to factory settings.
Keep your Nail Spotters in top condition. This Tune Up includes
replacement and calibration of the blade, replacement of the special rivet
behind skid to ensure proper functioning of skid on wall and replacement
of the friction washers at the handle connection for secure fastening of
handle to the tool. After we’ve changed these parts we’ll give the Nail
Spotter a professional cleaning, lubricate all the moving parts and adjust

XTender™ Box Handle Tune Up
Keep your Finishing Box handles tuned up and in control of your finishing
boxes. This Tune Up replaces the key components necessary to restore the
proper tension and adjustability to the quadrant brake. After we’ve changed
these parts we’ll give the handle a professional cleaning, lubricate all the
moving parts and adjust the tool to factory settings.
Keep your XTender™ Box Handle in top condition by periodically replacing
the key parts at the brake adjuster to ensure optimal performance. The
XTender™ Box Handle Tune Up also replaces the conical spring between the
handle bracket and actuator to provide peak performance. After these parts

CLEAN TOOLS PROMPTLY
Don’t allow joint compound to dry in the tools as the natural ingredients of
some joint compounds can be corrosive to some metals, gaskets and
bushings. Clean the tools regularly, using water and brushes to remove
the joint compound.
lubricate tools REGULARLY
Your tools should be lubricated before each use. Yes, every day! Lubricating
the tools helps them run smoothly, reducing unnecessary friction and wear.
Be sure to use a lubricant like Ames Bazooka Oil. Other lubricants can
erode gaskets, bushings and u-cups.
