The British Are Coming!
A Celebration of the British Lifestyle
and all Great British Motorcars and Motorcycles.
September of 2012 marks 22 years of the British Invasion Weekend in Stowe,
Vermont. What started as conversation over a pint of British Ale has grown into the
largest All-British Motorcar and Lifestyle event in the USA, annually attracting over
600 British Motorcars. The drive to Stowe from the North, South, East, and West
is only the beginning of a Jolly Good Time. The back roads of rural Vermont with
their assents and descents, twists and turns, and the sound of British Horsepower
on the loose is certain to get the juices flowing. Add to that, a village that has been
truly invaded by British Motoring Enthusiasts from the Eastern United States and
Canada and yes, even Europe and the West Coast all drawn by the lure of British
Motoring at its best.
This year, we are hoping to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with the
Introduction of the “Queen’s Court.” The “Queen’s Court” is a massive tent that
will host the Queen in a special setting, while providing seating for all to enjoy. The
“Queen’s Court” will also feature a variety of vendors whose focus is to pamper the
ladies of the British Invasion. The Queen will hold court and in her honor we will
introduce a Ladies Hat Competition. We have expanded our food offering this
year and will introduce a second Mobil Kitchen presented by Captain Marden’s
Seafood. We are moving the Registration Reception to start at 5:00 PM and
end at 7:00 PM so that more Registrants and Guests can attend. We are also
planning to have music and cars on display at the Reception. The Stowe Village
Vibrancy Association will host their Main Street Party on Friday evening
starting at 6:30 PM and will feature a live band that is scheduled to play till
9:30PM.
The British Invasion will feature a British Marketplace offering a wide variety
of vendors with automobilia, fashion items, books, food and picnic products.
The Singer Club, a featured marque for 2012, is hard at work and promises
to assemble the largest collection of Singer Motorcars ever assembled in North
America, so please do come and cheer them on. Our second featured marque for
2012 is MINI and we anticipate a strong showing.
Plan your accommodations early and come and join with fellow British
Enthusiasts. We wish you many miles of happy and trouble free motoring in your
British Classic.
