New Opera Singapore refreshed traditional opera,
making the art form enjoyable and accessible.
These included an energetic fusion of comedy and bel canto music, a
contemporary dance that took the audience on a mesmerising journey of
self-exploration, and a refreshing operatic showcase centred on the
universal theme of love.
Fans of fashion from Korea and Japan can now find a trendy outfit at S.H.E.
MOS Burger offers delicious Japanese hamburgers, prepared only upon order.
Fans of premium Japanese hamburger chain MOS Burger can now pick up a
quick and delicious bite at MBFC Tower 3 (#01-03). Besides popular menu
favourites, try the new Tobiriki Wagyu Burger – a symphony of flavour, texture
and quality in one heavenly burger, layered with teriyaki sauce and a pan-fried
egg – available exclusively at the MBFC outlet. Also exclusive to the MBFC
outlet is a set of MOS coffee and tea coupons worth $14.50 for just $12!
Les Grisettes entertained the audience with a
lively blend of comedy and bel canto music.
Symphony in the City
Every Thursday and Friday between 2 to 17 October,
shoppers at Marina Bay Link Mall (MBLM) were treated to
classical music by MediaCorp’s Symphony 92.4FM. This
was part of the radio station’s Symphony in the City
initiative to bring classical music to the masses and
increase appreciation for music and the arts.
UBS Unveils New Skyline Signage
As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, UBS unveiled its
new signage at One Raffles Quay on 22 September,
accompanied with a thrilling display of fireworks. In an event
officiated by Chairman Axel Weber, Group CEO Sergio P.
Ermotti, and the bank's Group Executive Board, UBS marked
the start of its year-long series of celebrations across Asia.
The Silver Arts exhibition featured paintings, ceramics, photography,
sound art and even recycled art, showcasing the creativity of seniors.
As a Global Partner for Formula One and in conjunction with the Singapore Grand
Prix, UBS held the much anticipated UBS Simulator Challenge in the lobby of One
Raffles Quay from 15 to 21 September. Over 1,000 participants had a taste of
Formula One racing and all proceeds raised went towards the Singapore
Children’s Society. Winners of the challenge also had the chance to meet UBS
Diversity Ambassador and team Williams development driver, Susie Wolff.

ABN AMRO Rises Again
ABN AMRO’s new external signage was unveiled again on
8 September on the façade of One Raffles Quay, marking
the bank’s resurgent rise to prominence in Singapore. The
Dutch bank has 520 employees in Singapore, of which
330 work for the private bank. Founded on 1 May 1858
as a branch of the Netherlands Trading Society, ABN
AMRO is the oldest foreign bank here.
ABN AMRO has two key business lines in Singapore - private banking and
corporate banking, which covers Commercial Clients, International Clients
and Capital Markets Solutions (including ABN AMRO Clearing). The bank
has earned a good reputation, with its private banking clients’ assets
under management in Asia and the Middle East seeing strong growth over
the last three years. Its International Clients business which includes the
energy, commodities and transportation (ECT) businesses, has also done
well, serving globally active mid-sized to large corporates.
“Singapore is very important to the bank’s global growth, as well as to its
core private banking business. Despite the upheaval of the past several
years, the bank remains committed to this region and likewise we see our
long-standing clients have remained confident that the bank is a long-term
player,” said Hans Hanegraaf, Country Executive, ABN AMRO Bank NV
Singapore and CEO, ABN AMRO Private Banking Asia and Middle East.

You’re never too old to express yourself, as the Silver Arts
Exhibition has proved. The event, held from 17 to 24
October, was organised by the National Arts Council (NAC)
as part of its Silver Arts Programme which advocates
meaningful and creative lives that seniors can have
through engaging in the arts.
Visitors were treated to stellar lunchtime performances by some of
Singapore’s most promising musicians ranging from young prodigies to
professional groups. They included live performances by
producer-presenters Selwyn Koh on the piano and Gerald Wong singing;
winners of Symphony 92.4FM’s Young Talents Project; and pianist Jarell
Tang’s rendition of Kabalevsky’s Sonata in F, Opus 46 No. 3. Local string
pop quartet VOX and music duo Cadence Music made special
appearances, delighting the audience with pop, jazz and classical hits.
Audiences were also treated to free cups of Starbucks coffee and Fruit
Frolic fruit teas, as a tie-up with these MBLM tenants.
Themed ‘Life Souvenirs’, the exhibition showcased artworks produced by
seniors who, through attending workshops by artists, were encouraged to
explore their sense of self through ceramics, photography, sound art and
painting – demonstrating how the arts can play a significant role in ageing well.
Symphony 92.4FM presenters Gerald Wong and
Gaiatri Sinnathamby telling the audience more
about the station’s offerings.
“Marina Bay Link Mall is delighted to
support this initiative, which not only
aligns with our support of the arts
but adds vibrancy to the mall
environment and enhances the
experience for shoppers and
visitors,” remarked Jaclyn Chan,
Senior Asset Manager, Raffles Quay
Asset Management.

They included live performances by
producer-presenters Selwyn Koh on the piano and Gerald Wong singing;
winners of Symphony 92.4FM’s Young Talents Project; and pianist Jarell
Symphony 92.4FM presenters Gerald Wong and

accompanied with a thrilling display of fireworks. In an event
officiated by Chairman Axel Weber, Group CEO Sergio P.
Ermotti, and the bank's Group Executive Board, UBS marked
the start of its year-long series of celebrations across Asia.
The Silver Arts exhibition featured paintings, ceramics, photography,
sound art and even recycled art, showcasing the creativity of seniors.

They included live performances by
producer-presenters Selwyn Koh on the piano and Gerald Wong singing;
winners of Symphony 92.4FM’s Young Talents Project; and pianist Jarell
