One of the best characteristics of the IB Diploma Programme (DP) is the balance it makes between the academic learning and the social and general awareness that is developed within the student. Academically, the Programme is designed to prepare students well for the various challenges they will face at University and beyond that. From its six groups, each student must choose one subject from each group (1 to 5) ensuring breadth of knowledge and understanding in their first or best language, second language(s), the social sciences, the experimental sciences, and mathematics. Students may choose either an arts subject from group 6, or a second subject from groups 1 to 5. In addition to the six subjects that can be taught at two levels (high or standard), the strength of the Diploma Programme is in its Core consisting of an Extended Essay (self based research paper), Theory of Knowledge course and Creativity, Action, Service Programme, enhancing student’s personal and interpersonal development. As the Diploma Programme Framework, the Preparatory Year Curriculum aims to provide the students with a balance between their Academic and Social lives. Academically, the Programme has two English Courses, Mathematics, Sciences, Computer Sciences, and French. Socially, we teach our students to play an important role and to have responsibilities towards the community, regional and global issues. PREPARATORY YEAR : INTAKE COURSE A Programme designed to students who wish to improve their English and Mathematics skills and competence. In addition to this, this course aims to create awareness among students with regards to global issues through the Community and Service Programme. The Intake Course can be delivered over two sixmonth periods. The first starting in September and ending in December while the second starting in January and ending in June. During the course of the programme, students will be constantly counseled and advised regarding their academic plans as well their career orientations. The IB diploma is a passport to higher education. The IB Recognition Team strategically partner with universities and governments to help develop IB recognition policies.
