EXERCISE INTRODUCTION
This exercise has been organized between Mediterranean Oil Industry Group (MOIG), MARETAP S.A
Exploration, ECUMED Petroleum, International Environmental Marine and Services (IEMS), Merchant Marine,
Ports Office (OMMP), National Office of Civil Protection (ONPC), PA Resources and Company of Storage and
Transport of fuel (SSTC)
The MOIG Director and the Exercise Director visited ZARZIS Terminal in Tunisia at 17-18/03/2015 to outline
the exercise and prepare an Exercise Working Document.
ZARZIS (1) Oil Spill Exercise based on a Tier 2 scenario, which conducted at ZARZIS terminal located on ZARZIS
City on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea , South-Eastern Tunisia. The exercise held between 26th-28th May
and conducted in three parts;
The theoretical part (Presentations, Induction, Exercise familiarization) of the Exercise has been
introduced to participants on the 26th 2015 in Eden Star hotel in ZARZIS City,
The Practical part conducted at ZARZIS terminal on 27th of May.2015,
Debriefing of exercise (lessons learned) held on 28th of May.2015.

OBJECTIVES / OBSERVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Prior to the exercise the key participants identified objectives which they hoped to achieve with regards to
the testing of plans, procedures and personnel. The exercise scenario was developed to incorporate these
elements, whilst maintaining flexibility to develop and evolve in response.
The following table shows the lessons and recommendations of the objective review.

F
Task distribution at Incident Coordination Centre
(ICC) was not coordinated to maximize the
utilization of those present.
Environmental Data (Wind, Current, Visibility,
water depth, wave height, etc…) was not
displayed in the Incident Coordination Centre
(ICC)
A template is recommended to reduce time.
