BMW ALPINA B6 Bi TU RBO MANUFACTURER OF EXCLUSIVE AUTOMOBILES E D ITION 5 0 - AUTOMOBILE ANNI V E R SA R Y MASTE R PIECES In 1965 our father Burkard Bovensiepen founded ALPINA, a company which committed itself passionately to the development and production of extraordinary automobiles. Automobiles for connoisseurs that feature luxurious and comfortable interiors, superior driving performance and a subtle, sporty exterior. Elegant understatement has always characterised our products, a philosophy that remains unchanged to this day. For 50 years ALPINA has been a small, individual actor in the increasingly ubiquitous automotive world. Both on the road and on the race track, BMW ALPINA automobiles have repeatedly garnered sensational results. Special limited edition models from ALPINA always enjoy great popularity. The first to have done so were the B7 S Turbo models from 1981 with altogether 90 examples. The 3.5 litre 6-cylinder turbo engine with 330 hp provided unparalleled performance while the newly introduced exclusive paint finishes ALPINA Blue and Green remain a popular option to this day. Like other special limited edition models that followed suit, the B7 S Turbo models are now legendary collector cars. In light of this tradition it is a great pleasure to announce the exclusive EDITION 50. Based on the BMW ALPINA B5 Bi-Turbo and B6 Bi-Turbo and strictly limited to fifty examples of each, the EDITION 50 combines heritage with state-ofthe-art technology. Andreas Bovensiepen Florian Bovensiepen 1982 BMW ALPINA B 7 S TU R BO COUP É 3 0 E X AMPLES LIMITE D HI GH PE R FOR MANCE BRAKE SYSTEM In addition to the new brake system with Blue callipers an optional high performance brake system for the front axle is available. Featuring 4-piston fixed callipers from Brembo with 395 mm discs and high temperature resistant pads, it offers very engaged drivers exceptional fading stability. LI GHTWEI G H T FOR G E D WHEELS The strictly ‘form follows function’ design combines the heritage of the ALPINA CLASSIC wheel with unique and distinguishing side-cuts on each spoke. This results in a total weight saving of 15.6 kg despite the wheels having increased in width by half an inch to now measure 9 x 20“ front and 10 x 20“ rear. BMW ALPINA B 6 BITU R BO COUP É HERITAGE INTERIOR Black seats combined with seat and backrest centres in Forest Green with chequered Yellow/Black stitching – this exclusive interior design is reminiscent of the legendary B7 S Turbo Coupé upholstery from 1982. This handcrafted interior is available as an option on the basis of an ALPINA LAVALINA upholstery. PIANO BLACK INTER IOR TR IM Stylish ALPINA piano black interior trim with EDITION 50 lettering and a personal signature by Burkard Bovensiepen, the founder of the company in 1965, are an integral part of every EDITION 50 interior. FINE D ETAILS The EDITION 50 models are distinguishable by additional details including illuminated door sill finishers with EDITION 50 lettering. The typical ALPINA metal emblems in the seatbacks and floor mats are finished in silver with an engraving showing the years 1965 – 2015 in reference to ALPINA’s 50th Anniversary. Strictly limited to 50 vehicles, the production number of each BMW ALPINA B6 Bi-Turbo EDITION 50 is shown on the production plaque and on the reverse of the key ring. DECO - SET In subtle Blue or Green matt with EDITION 50 lettering, exclusive to this limited edition. Especially when applied colour-on-colour these special Deco-Sets combine heritage elements with an elegant, restrained appearance. LI GHTWEIG H T TITANIUM EX H AUST The light-weight exhaust system developed in cooperation with Akrapovič is made entirely of high-strength titanium – resulting in a weight reduction of 17 kg compared to the use of stainless steel. The high-tech construction ensures a maximum pipe diameter over the entire length of the system to reduce back pressure. Featuring an active exhaust valve, the system together with the powerful Bi-Turbo engine produces a powerful V8 soundscape which is emitted through twin tailpipes with carbon trim. DR I VE PERFORMANCE AND TORQUE DIAGRAM B6 BITURBO The new B6 Bi-Turbo EDITION 50 is powered by a revised version of the 4.4 litre V8 Bi-Turbo engine – known amongst 450 aficionados as the embodiment of power, torque and 425 BMW ALPINA B6 BITURBO a maximum torque of 800 Nm at only 3500 rpm, making 400 441 kW (600 hp) at 6000 rpm 800 Nm at 3500-4500 rpm it the most powerful engine in the company’s history. Recycling demands are already considered early in the development process of a BMW ALPINA. An example of this is in the selection of materials – they are chosen, such that they are environmentally friendly and easily recyclable, using a minimum of resources to do so. Every BMW ALPINA is built so that it is easily and cost-effectively recyclable at the end of its useable life span. All this occurs in close co-operation between BMW and ALPINA. BMW Group have built a European-wide redemption and recycling infrastructure, and require high quality and environmental standards. For return of your automobile for the purposes of recycling, please contact your BMW ALPINA partner. They are ready to help. For further information about recycling firms and redemption locations, please see www.bmw.com The models in this brochure may show the specification for the German market (LHD version). In part, they include optional equipment and accessories not fitted as standard. For precise information on model features and equipment, please contact your ALPINA dealer or importer.
