Young Professionals Present $5,000 in Scholarships to BCHS Seniors
The Young Professionals of the North Baldwin Chamber of
Commerce presented $5,000 in scholarships to three Baldwin
County High School Seniors on Thursday, May 9th. The Young
Professionals raised the scholarship money last fall with the
first ever Delta Dash—a 5k+ mud run obstacle course through
the delta of Stockton, Alabama. Approximately 500 runners
participated in the Delta Dash helping to make these scholarships possible. The Young Professionals are already planning
for the 2nd Annual Delta Dash to take place on September 28th
this year; registration opens June 1st with an expectation of
doubling the participation, more runners equal more
scholarships.
Destany Morris is the top recipient of the Delta Dash
Scholarship receiving $3,000. Destany is headed to the
University of Mobile in the fall and plans to major in
Education.
Lennon Steadham and Marlee Brannan are each receiving
$1,000 scholarships. Lennon is headed to the University of
South Alabama where she plans to study Chemical
Engineering, while Marlee is headed to the University of
Alabama to pursue an education in Nursing.
Congratulations ladies, and a big thank you to the Young
Professionals of the North Baldwin Chamber for their hard
work to make this scholarship program possible.
