The first phase of this two phase development will include a 104‐unit, five‐story multi‐family building, and an integrated parking garage. Orlando’s digital media industry hosts more than 1,200 companies, 30,000 employees, and collective annual revenues estimated at $9 billion. The vision of Mayor Buddy Dyer and the Orlando City Council is to build on the success of Orlando’s digital media industry by redeveloping a 68-acre site, formerly known as the Orlando Centroplex, into Creative Village – a one-of-a-kind place where high-tech companies and 21st-Century education can locate, and employees of those businesses and other residents can live, work, learn, and play. In Progress The City of Orlando has entered into a public/private partnership with Creative Village Development, LLC to redevelop the site into a high quality, new urban neighborhood to support a diverse and dynamic mix of uses including: 900,000 – 1,000,000 square feet of office/creative space 300,000 – 500,000 square feet of higher education space 1,200 – 1,500 residential units 125,000 – 150,000 square feet of retail/commercial space 150 – 200 hotel rooms Parks providing public space for hosting civic events, festivals and community markets The Creative Village will have a strong focus on educational uses and build upon existing assets, including the University of Central Florida (UCF) Center for Emerging Media, the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy (FIEA), and the House of Moves motion capture facility. The future vertical development is valued between $800 million to $1 billion upon completion, with minimal reliance on public resources, since the compact, urban design will be extremely efficient. At buildout, the Creative Village is estimated to have a daytime population of roughly 10,000 professionals, students, residents, and visitors. As a result, an approximately 20,000-seat stadium, with expansion capabilities to over 23,000, is being built adjacent to the Amway Center and will allow for synergy between the two facilities and increased activity in the surrounding community. The stadium includes a 3,700 person supporters' stand and terrace, complete with a designated level views of the pitch and Central Boulevard. A plaza for pre and post-game events, along with a public art program, will further connect the facility to the neighborhood. An iconic canopy will help define the district, while providing shade and amplifying fan noise. The stadium features an array of premium seating, including club seating, 28 premium suites, loge boxes, and Group and Party Club Suites. This two-story residential facility serves one of the most underserved segments of the homeless population, homeless men. It replaced the Men’s Pavilion. Young Building Complete Description This is a full modernization of a 187,000 square foot existing federal facility built in 1975, with a small 15,000 square foot addition, consisting of a judges elevator, stair tower, and new entry pavilion. The George C. Young building resides on a campus with the recently constructed U.S. Federal Courthouse. The Amway Center features a modern mix of metal and glass exterior materials and the spire serves as a beacon amid Orlando’s vibrant downtown. With an ultimate capacity of more than 20,000 seats, the arena was designed to respond to its distinct urban setting while revealing the activities occurring within. Bounded by Church Street, Hughey Avenue, South Street and Division Avenue, the Amway Center’s primary entrance faces north to Church Street, creating a natural extension of the nearby downtown entertainment core. The Church Street entry features a large public entry plaza connecting to the Amway Center’s spacious entry lobby. Additional improvements included cosmetic repairs, existing press and suite-level renovation, vertical circulation, as well as technology and infrastructure improvements. In all, the Orlando Citrus Bowl has: •65,000 seats, including temporary seating •4,000 club seats •1.2 million total square feet, which includes the new structure, existing conference center, and portions of the preexisting stadium that will remain. This site is at the southwest quadrant of the Colonial Drive and Orange Avenue intersection in downtown Orlando. This seven-story building with contemporary architecture will define the northern gateway of downtown Orlando at this prominent corner. The first phase of this two phase project will include a six-story, 279-unit multi-family building with 14,000 square feet of high-quality retail and an integrated parking garage. The second phase will include an additional 15,000 square feet of retail; a six-story, 125-key hotel; two office buildings (six and eight stories); and an eight-story stand-alone parking garage . Site configuration allows for private development to surround the Center. The Walt Disney Theater and Alexis & Jim Pugh Theater opened November 2014. Phase one of the church site redevelopment includes a new child development center (CDC) on Ruth Lane, restoration and relocation of three historic homes, and removal of five portable classrooms. In order to provide room for development, three houses at 414, 420, and 424 Ruth Lane have been moved to the corner of East Amelia Street and Ruth Lane. A structure at 116 East Amelia Street was demolished in March of 2015 so that a soccer field can move to the west to allow for the relocation of the houses. In addition, the garages behind 414 and 420 Ruth Lane have been demolished. The CDC has been designed to evoke the residential character of the Lake Eola Heights Neighborhood and / Historic District. The East/West Corridor Route was developed following public comments, field work, and evaluation analysis. In March/April 2011, the Orlando City Council, LYNX Board of Directors, and METROPLAN Orlando accepted the Draft Locally Preferred Alternative for the East/West Corridor (Proposed Locally Preferred Alternative East/West Corridor Map), which allowed the LYMMO Expansion Project to be eligible for Very Small Starts funding from the Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) for preliminary design and engineering. In the Summer of 2011, the Federal Transit Administration approved the Full Funding Grant Agreements for the Parramore and East/West BRT Projects. Design work on both projects commenced in March 2012, and construction began in November 2012. The East/West Route opened April 10, 2014, as the “Grapefruit Line”. The Parramore route, renamed the “Lime Line” is expected to open in 2016. Existing LYMMO service has been renamed the “Orange Line”.
