GRAFFiGNA
When the Graffigna® family arrived in Argentina with the dream of making exceptional wines, they were in search of excellence. The chosen site at the foot of the Andes in the San Juan Valleys was indeed the perfect one, offering optimal climatic conditions. Established in 1870 by pioneer and visionary Don Santiago Graffigna, Graffigna is the first winery in the province of San Juan, is the second oldest winery in Argentina, and became one of the first to sell branded barreled wine and bottled wine in Argentina. Graffigna Centenario Reserve Shiraz Tasting Notes It presents an intense red colour with purplish and bright shades. The nose of black fruit, liquorice and figs. Displays mint and eucalyptus flavours which adds freshness to the palate. Full bodied and buttery. Long and aromatic finish. May We Suggest It is the perfect accompaniment to peppered red meats and grilled vegetables, pizza and beef stews. Wine Region A distinctive feature of Argentine wine is its natural purity. The ailments that usually affect vines are not frequent in this region because of its dry climate, and therefore, the treatments applied to cure such diseases are rarely needed. Soil fertility is regulated by using irrigation methods and high ripeness levels are yielded by the abundant sunshine. The Graffigna Centenario Reserve wines are produced with grapes from the Pedernal Valley in the San Juan province, 1,400 meters high, with a temperature range of more than 20˚C. These conditions result in great varietal expression with well-defined and concentrated colours and bouquets.
