Well as the saying goes April showers bring
May flowers and not to mention mustang
events. Many of the members have already
attended two MCA events. Some of our
members attended the latest event in
Huntsville for their National show.
We are in full swing of our first event of the
2005 season the High Speed Fun in Music City
V. As it appears we should have a great event
with nearly 60 participants with us at the
Nashville Superspeedway on the 27th & 28th
of this month. This is our opportunity to
demonstrate that this club hosts a great event.
I understand that not everyone in the club
enjoys the open track events, which is fine.
These events are another avenue for people to
enjoy the overall hobby of Mustanging. I would
like to see as many of the club members just
come out say hi to the folks running and thank
them for supporting our event. In past events I
have noticed that those who

events are the ones

Murfreesboro Road, Nashville, on the third Thursday of the month
(except December).

been to the Nashville Superspeedway I invite you to come out and
see what fun we have. Again this is not for everyone but it is
another side of what we offer to members and MCA as a whole.
We will be need volunteers to work some to the jobs during the
event so if you can lend a hand be it 2 hours or the entire day
please let Jim Chism or myself what day(s) and time you would
available.
Our fall show is all set for September. As you travel to other
shows and events be sure to pass out flyers and let people know
of the event. Also, we need door prizes as give away during the
show. Please ask you employer or parts house representative for
an item to be given away and they will be given mention of the
kindness to support our efforts.
One last mention that if you have not renewed
your MCMC membership for 2005 this
will be your last newsletter. Please fill
out the form and return it to Kevin
Pate.

Spintech Muffler Install…
How I did it (with help)
exhaust from the “Y” pipe, and then cut the pipes for easy
removal…once the cutting was done we tossed the old
stock unit out….the NEW set up was just as easily
installed, it was a 3 piece unit that bolted together.

The process of installing a less restrictive CATBACK
system on my 2002 V6 Mustang was fairly straight forward
and easy. The hard part was doing the research and
picking a manufacturer.
Since joining the club I have asked a lot of questions, read
a number of articles in magazines, and heard a lot of
opinions about which was the best system to buy and
install.
FLOWMASTER, MAGNAFLO, DYNOMAX...you name
it…after all was said and done I settled on SPINTECH…to
me they offered the most BANG for the BUCK and they
had the option of DUEL or SINGLE exhaust. The system I
chose was a SINGLE left side exit with COBRA R tips for
a cost of $219.95 +shipping for a grand total of $289.00.
They offer the same thing in a DUAL package as well.
On to the install…with the help of Kevin Pate and his
garage full of tools, we jacked the rear end up, put jack
stands under the rear axle for support, unbolted the stock

STEP 1: Bolted muffler to the “Y” pipe, and mounted it to
the existing hanger.
STEP 2: Attached the exit pipe to the muffler with the
supplied “U” bolt, at this point Kevin had to make a
mounting point for the pipe to be hung from to secure the
exit pipe.
STEP 3: Attach the COBRA R tips
STEP 4: Fire the bad boy up hear the RUMBLE, check for
leaks and loose bolts, and you are done.
This all took about 2 hours on a Friday night after
work…thanks to Kevin for his help,and his comment that
the system looked “SICK.”
I drove around town the next day with the drivers side
window down just listening to the new exhaust note.
