Completed: In Progress
State-of-the-art High School
Project Descripon:
The new Olympus High School comprises a complete rebuild of the original 1952 school in Holladay, Utah. At
only 27 acres, the site called for a concise, efficient design and creave phasing. This was due to the fact that
school was to stay in session in the original building while the new facility was being constructed. The new
three-story campus will be a total of 400,000 square-feet.
The school’s southeast corner houses the performing arts wing, including an auditorium, a black box theater
and choral and orchestra rooms. The middle secon of the building houses the three-story academic area.
Wide hallways include secons of lockers. There is also a commons area with a view of Mount Olympus. The
administraon offices are also a part of the main building.
The new construcon also includes a football stadium that features a press box and circular, synthec track
designed to house track meets. Since the old baseball stadium was demolished to make room for the new
building, there had to be a new baseball field as well. PKM Steel Service provided the dugouts and scoreboard for the new facilies.

Electric Generang Facility
Project Descripon:
PacifiCorp began construcon of the 637-MW, Lake Side II, combined cycle combuson turbine natural gasfueled generang facility to help meet future retail load growth and replace supply provided by wholesale
contracts that are expiring, or for which the level of supply has been reduced.
The Lake Side II generang facility is currently being constructed adjacent to PacifiCorp’s Lake Side generang
facility. The combined cycle combuson turbines can be cycled off and on rapidly, enabling the grid to make
maximum use of wind and solar power when available and revert back to gas-fired power when wind and
solar are not available. Power from the facility will be sold to PacifiCorp’s subsidiary, Rocky Mountain Power.
PKM provided structural steel for the Steam Turbine housing and Water Treatment Building. Delivery began
October 15, 2012 and ran through January 15, 2013.

Denver Interna$onal Airport Concourses
Denver, Colorado
$8,257,962
Our Client: PCL Construcon
Total Tons: 7,585
Completed: 1993
3 Airport Concourses
Project Descripon:
With the construcon of the Denver Internaonal Airport, Denver was determined to build an airport that
could easily be expanded over the next 50 years to eliminate many of the problems plagued by other airports
in the region. This was achieved by designing an easily expandable midfield terminal and concourses, creang
one of the most efficient airfields in the world.
The midfield concourses allow passengers to be screened in a central locaon efficiently and then
transported via a rail system to three different passenger concourses. Concourse B and C are not connected
by any kind of walkway; they are only accessible via train. The taxiways at Denver have been posioned so
that each of the midfield concourses can expand significantly before reaching the taxiways. Concourse B is
longer than the other two concourses, but all three can be expanded as well.
Concourse A allows travelers to view planes taxiing directly underneath and provides sweeping views of the
Rocky Mountains to the West and the high plains to the East. It also contains addional temporary art
exhibits.

675,000 square foot of retail space on 3 1/2 city blocks
Project Descripon:
The project was first proposed in April 1979 to build an enclosed downtown shopping mall of two or three

August 30, 1993, PKM Steel Service started shipping its fabricated structural steel to the job site. September
23, above-ground steel work construcon began.
More than 15 years a1er it was first proposed, and six years a1er construcon began, Circle Centre Mall
opened to the public on September 8, 1995. The final building stands with four floors, 100 retail stores, 20

Our Client: Heavy Structures
Total Tons: 1,352
Completed: 2012
135,636 square-foot AAC Hangar
Project Descripon:

Bartle Hall Conven$on Center
Kansas City, Missouri
$2,203,271
Our Client: Walton Construcon
Total Tons: 2,507
Completed: 1992
Mulfaceted Convenon Center
Project Descripon:
Bartle Hall Convenon Center is Kansas City’s largest complex of structures dedicated to meengs and
convenons, sports and entertainment. It offers 388,800 square feet of column-free exhibit space on one
floor. 211,000 square-feet of tenant finishes, a 200,000 square-foot conference enter, another 55,000 square
-foot of addional space on two levels. This is all to encompass the 45 meeng rooms, a 2,400-seat fine arts
theater and an arena that can seat over 10,700 people.
The expansion was a significantly technical one. Construcon of the addional convenon space was built
over a connuously open six-lane freeway which runs underneath the convenon center. Construcon
required the installaon of four 300-foot pylons to support the facility’s roof. The result was the creaon of
the largest column-free convenon environment in the world.
The building was also designed and constructed to meet green building standards and achieved the first LEED
Silver rang in Kansas City.
