The 307-acre Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary is home to
the City of Arcata's innovative wastewater treatment facility
and features 5.4 miles of walking and biking paths and an
Interpretive Center. The Sanctuary supports a variety of habitat
types, including salt marsh, freshwater ponds and marshes,
grassy uplands, tidal mudflats, and brackish marshes.

The Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary is open
daily 4 am to an hour after sunset.
Dogs must be on a leash at all times.
Please remain on designated trails and roadways.

Boating on the Bay is recommended at tides
higher than +3.0.

Hunting is prohibited within 100 yards of the
land and open water adjacent to the Sanctuary.

hang gliders, and model airplanes are allowed.
