MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS: MAJOR GIFT OPTIONS:

Mountaineer Basketball has a tradition of greatness beginning with players like Jerry West, Georgeann
Wells, “Hot Rod” Hundley, Olivia Bradley, Rod Thorn and Rosemary Kosiorek. This tradition has continued
with the likes of Kevin Pittsnogle, Kate Bulger, Mike Gansey, Yolanda Paige, Darris Nichols, Olayinka
Sanni, Joe Alexander, Meg Bulger, Da’Sean Butler and Head Coaches Mike Carey and Bob Huggins.
There is no doubt that West Virginia University basketball has a well earned Legacy throughout the
history of both programs.
The Big 12 Conference is recognized as the most competitive league in the nation. In order to compete
for Big 12 championships and national prominence, the Legacy Fund was created to support the WVU’s
men’s and women’s basketball programs.
By supporting the Legacy Fund, you ensure that WVU basketball’s proud tradition will continue well into
the future. Legacy Fund members receive a number of benefits including coaching staff interaction,
an apparel item and quarterly newsletters. In addition, members receive donor recognition and other
special benefits.
The Legacy Fund will help to offset two ever-increasing costs associated with top flight basketball
programs: recruiting and team travel. All funds in support of the Legacy Fund will go directly towards
ensuring that Coach Huggins, Coach Carey and their staffs have the necessary resources to recruit toptier basketball student-athletes to WVU. Funds will also help support chartered air travel throughout
the season which has become a necessity with the rigors of classroom and competition schedules
coupled with the inconveniences associated with commercial flights.
All Legacy Fund gifts received in the current giving year are awarded two (2) priority points for every
$100 received. All gifts are processed and receipted by the WVU Foundation, Inc.
