LETTER FROM THE FOUNDER
Get More Girls on Bikes
Growing up as competitive cyclists, the gender disparity on the start line was always troubling,
and when Lea and I started Little Bellas seven years ago, we were determined to grow cycling
as both a sport and lifestyle for young women. We personally understood the importance
cycling played in our lives. It stemmed beyond the competition, and largely provided us with
confidence and leadership in our lives as a whole.
In eight years of operation, we have reached more than 2,000 girls and we continue to aspire to
create a nationwide girls’ cycling program that allows participation opportunities regardless of
economic status.
Cycling has also taught us that momentum is best achieved with two wheels, so partnerships
outlined in the following pages are crucial to the movement we are creating. Let this serve as a
conversation starter. We look forward to talking with you more about how we build a
sponsorship agreement tailored to your interests and needs. We’re excited to begin a fun
discussion that will hopefully lead to a long, strong and mutually beneficial partnership.
Let’s together get more girls on bikes,
Sabra Davison, Executive Director
01 B R I E F H I S T O R Y
BRIEF HISTORY
Though their childhood centered around downhill skiing and cross country running, Lea and Sabra
Davison, as young adults, found themselves focusing more seriously on cycling. Lea and Sabra both
attended the UCI Junior World Championships and competed in numerous World Cup events as
well as the NORBA events across the United States.
They attended Middlebury College where they teamed up with Angela Irvine to start the Little Bellas
program. Angela, a prominent member of the local cycling community and advocate of women’s
cycling, shared a similar objective of expanding the sport to the younger generation. As co-founders,
they developed a program structure and recruited mentors to run twelve Sunday sessions in
Vermont throughout the summer of 2007. During its first season, the program had more mentors
than girls, but more than doubled by 2008 when over 40 girls ages 7-12 enrolled in the program.
As Little Bellas has continued to expand to week long camps and establish chapters across the
country, Angela and the Davison sisters have worked to build a program that encourages young girls
to embrace cycling and fosters empowerment through sport. At camps and during weekly sessions,
girls can expect to participate in a wide variety of games aimed at encouraging skill development,
both on and off the bike. Little Bellas provides a supportive environment where young girls can be
comfortable with themselves and overcome challenges both individually and as a collective group.
While maintaining their focus on developing the Little Bellas program, the Davison sisters have
continued to participate at an elite level. Lea, a nine time national champion and 2012 Olympian,
currently races for the Specialized Factory team, a long time corporate sponsor of the program. As
the Executive Director of Little Bellas, Sabra spends her summers facilitating all national programs,
but still finds time to compete at the professional level in Cross Country Skiing.
MISSION, GOALS, AND VALUES
MISSION
Little Bellas is a mountain bike organization
whose goal is to help young women realize
their potential through cycling. We aim to
create a community that will empower girls
through the sport, emphasize the importance
of goal-setting, promote healthy life styles and
recognize the positive effects of strong female
bonds. While this program is centered around
creating camaraderie for girls on bikes, it is
most importantly about having fun in a
constructive environment.

“I THINK IT’S GOOD CHARACTER-BUILDING; YOU
GET TO LEARN HOW TO WORK WITH OTHER
PEOPLE. IT’S ALSO JUST REALLY FUN. YOU GET TO
BIKE THROUGH THE WOODS AND LEARN COOL
TRICKS. YOU’LL NEVER IN YOUR LIFE SEE A CLEAN
LITTLE BELLAS JERSEY!”

THE PROGRAM
Little Bellas brings together girls ages 7 to 16 with female mentors by using mountain biking as a
vehicle to teach the importance of teamwork, goal-setting, and fostering a healthy lifestyle. In
weekly summer sessions or multi-day camps, mentors and girls ride together at local trail networks,
focusing on improving skills as well as participating in team-building activities. The program is
organized around a curriculum that builds upon previous skills, and girls are broken up into groups
based on age and ability. After the group ride, the groups participate in games that incorporate that
day’s skill focus. Each session or camp includes the ever important snack.
We are introducing new programs in Woodbury MN, Philadelphia PA, Marin County CA,
Berkshires MA, Craftsbury VT, Park City UT, Rutland VT and Fountain Hills AZ.
Getting more girls on bikes with expanded offerings, we plan to serve more than 550 Little
Bellas and their families and 150 mentors and 30 junior mentors in 2016.

Have you heard of them? They’re the cutest thing that ever happened to mountain bikes, and more importantly
they are the future of our sport – the future of our businesses.
As the title sponsor of the Little Bellas, we invest to ensure we provide these young riders with the best bikes
and equipment they need to have memorable (maybe even life changing) riding experiences and become our
customers for life. Yes, we’re asking you to partner with us on our mission to get more girls on mountain bikes,
but we’re warning you now… we have no control on how these Bellas will influence your life and the way you do
business.
Here are the tools you need to become the go-to shop for all things related to Little Bellas.
WHY SHOULD YOU PARTICIPATE?
• Be the supporter of a community that empowers girls through sport.
• Begin a partnership with a young cyclist and be their go-to shop as they progress with the sport.
• If you support a Little Bella chances are… mom and dad become your customers too!
• The Little Bellas program offers you national marketing exposure, plus continued expansion year after year.
• Effect the next generation of female cyclists and their families.
THE ASK
We are asking our participating retailers to offer Little Bellas participants and mentors a discount on select mountain
bikes and equipment. We have selected the core group of products that best suits the girls and the mentors.
HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE
Retailers will receive 20% off of Standard Alliance Pricing (L4). We then ask that you use the Little Bella sell-to-price
list when selling bikes and equipment to Little Bella’s in your community. This price list can be also be found on B2B
under Sales and Marketing. The discount will equate to roughly 25% off of MSRP for Little Bellas.

WHEN TO BEGIN
These chapters will run their programs at all different times throughout the year - spring, summer, and fall.
Please work with mentors from each chapter to set up an ordering window for before the program and/or after
program to give the Little Bellas at least 1 month to order bikes and equipment.
SPRING- Mid-January through Mid-March
SUMMER- Mid-March through end of May
FALL- Mid-July though the end of August.
*Please aim to get the Little Bellas on bikes prior to the start of each program.
THE PROCESS
We aim to make this as streamlined as possible. Please follow the below steps as a participating retailer:
1. Identify a Little Bella’s Chapter in your community
2. Fall in love with getting more young ladies on bikes and start believing your favorite color is purple.
3. Welcome the chapter into your shop and host a Little Bella’s night where parents, mentors and Little Bellas can learn about the products and bikes before placing orders. Introduce the 1 month long ordering window and define hard dates that all orders must be submitted.
4. Place one order – you will be responsible for placing one order with your Market Developer, who will apply the discount.
5. Notify the mentor when all bikes and product arrives and organize pick-up.
LITTLE BELLA REQUIREMENTS
1. Each individual Little Bella chapter will work with no more than (3) retailers per chapter location.
2. Little Bellas will connect with participating retailers on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
3. Little Bellas offer to lead group rides, or help with (1) shop event per year.
4. Little Bellas will sync participating retailers’ websites to their program website.
5.*Logos requirements are not mandatory for Little Bella Chapters, however, we strongly encourage Little Bellas to include both participating retailer logo, as well as Specialized logo, when possible.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
All products offered under the Little Bella’s Partnership are subject to availability. Product ordered must follow the open
stock policy of having 10 or more items in open stock at time of order. Re-Sale Policy: Little Bella chapters participating
in the Little Bellas Partnership certify and agree that the bikes and equipment being bought and used are for personal use
only, and will not be sold for one (1) years’ time from date of purchase. Little Bella chapters also agree that at any time, no
sales of new products purchased under this program may occur by mail order, catalog, or over the internet, which includes
any means of online trading.
Specialized reserves the right to terminate a retailer, team and/or athletes from this program at any time, for any reason,
and for any length of time. At Specialized’s discretion, retailers and teams may be given one warning from Specialized to
follow directions before privileges granted under this program are revoked.
