Four Seasons Resort Lanai Debuts New Air Experience for
Adventures Everywhere
Experience Lanai by land, sea and air
September 13, 2016, Hawaii, Lanai, U.S.A.
A new series of exhilarating air activities joins a roster of adventures on land and sea at Four Seasons
Resort Lanai. At a Resort with its own island to explore, guests can enjoy upcountry adventures on horse
or UTV, fly on helicopter tours, snorkel, sail or scuba dive, go off-roading and explore heritage sites, or
simply relax on secluded beaches.
1
Lanai by Air
Learn to Fly – For those who like to be “hands-on,” novice pilots can get behind the “wheel” of a plane and
learn to fly and perform basic flight manoeuvres such as takeoff, cruise and land in sky-high adventures with
Maui Flight Academy. Fly in between Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa, directly over the active volcano vent,
travel alongside tall sea cliffs to Molokai before heading over the lush West Maui mountains, finally landing
in Hana to explore the rain forest. The Fabulous 4! flight is a full-day of pure joy. Fly to Molokai, Honolulu,
Hawaii’s volcano, Hilo, Waipi#o Valley, Hana Maui and Kahului. A once-in-a-lifetime journey. Rates from
USD 1,599 to 3,999.
Helicopter Tours –The Lanai Circle Island Experience by Paradise Helicopters provides an aerial
understanding of the island’s history, culture and beauty. Follow the perimeter of Lanai’s now-extinct
singular volcano Palawai and see Hulopoe Bay, Kanepuu dryland forest preserve, the lunar landscapes of
Keahiakawelo (Garden of the Gods) and the pristine beaches of Polihua. (USD 249 per person, 20 minutes
flight time.) Explore the islands of Lanai, Kahoolawe, Maui and Molokai - once a single island - from above.
(USD 725 per person, 2.45 hours.) Or chose a custom adventure and chart a course that may include coffee
estates, remote beaches, the sights of Oahu, over an active volcano to search for lava flows, or through the
lush waterfall valleys along the Kohala Coast. Land along the way to picnic, hike or visit local attractions
before seeing the sunset from high above.
Lanai by Land
UTV tours – Explore upcountry with a guided Four Seasons Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) Cultural Tour in
a sleek and sporty Polaris RZR or Polaris Ranger, a popular choice for families adventuring together. Trek
through the forests and trails of beautiful Lanai on an adrenaline-filled excursion and learn about the diverse
landscapes, history and natural environment from the Island Adventure Center Activity Driver and Guide. Or
book a two- or three-hour custom sunrise tour to welcome in a new day on Lanai. Rates from USD 350 per
couple, USD 225 single supplement for two-hour guided tour. Tours also available for day visitors.
Horseback Riding – Escape on horseback into the hills surrounding Koele, once the centre of ranching
operations on the island, or explore the wooded valleys and trails of this extraordinary upland terrain, home
to axis deer, Mouflon sheep, quail and turkey. It doesn't take long to reach views of both neighbouring
islands of Maui and Molokai along with beautiful overlooks of the vast landscape of Lanai. Custom tours,
private and children’s lessons also available. Rates from USD 175 per person for 1.5 hour trail ride. Rides
also can be booked by day visitors.
4x4 Off-Roading - With only 30 miles (48 kilometres) of paved road, Lanai is well suited for off-roading.
Rent a jeep from the Four Seasons Island Adventure Center, pack a picnic and explore miles and miles of
rugged terrain while taking on the scenery of Keomoku Village, petrogylphs, the Mars-like scenery of historic
Keahiakawelo, Polihua Beach and Kaiolohia (Shipwreck Beach).
Lanai by Sea
Snorkel Sail - Join the friendly and professional crew of Trilogy Excursions aboard a luxury custom sailing
catamaran for a three-hour adventure, including a Four Seasons boxed lunch, drinks, snorkel gear and
instruction. Visit a secluded cove beneath 1,000 foot (300 metre) high sea cliffs on Lanai’s southwest
coast, where schools of darting silvery tropical fish swim alongside a host of other denizens of the clear
water. Prefer a boat of one’s own? Book a private charter for a group or a sunset sail for two. Rates from
USD 250 per adult.
2
Scuba - With its protected bays and coves, Lanai is the perfect location for first-time and experienced
scuba divers alike. One-tank introductory and certified beach dives are offered at Hulopoe Bay, a protected
marine preserve known for its crystal-clear waters, abundance of colourful reef fish, beautiful coral reefs
and diverse marine life. More experienced divers can explore underwater coral grottoes and lava caves and
enjoy safe encounters with tropical sea life at favourite spots such as the Cathedrals, featuring rock lattices
that resemble stained glass when light shines through, Kaunolu or Menpachi Caves with the Lanai two-tank
dive.
SNUBA - For those who enjoy the simplicity of snorkeling and would like to experience the wonders of
breathing underwater, SNUBA is an ideal alternative bridging the gap between snorkeling and Scuba diving.
Using a 20 foot (6 metre) airline connected to a scuba tank, divers are free to explore beneath the surface at
ease. One-hour SNUBA dives offered from Hulopoe Beach.
Activity rates are exclusive of taxes, gratuities and any additional service charges.
