Salem Community Center @ the Armory Newsletter July 2016 Star Spangled Salute from the Ozarks” is the theme for this year’s 4th of July parade. The parade will be held Monday, July 4, at 6:00 PM following the normal parade route starting at SBU ending at the Dent County Courthouse. Lineup positions will be available on July 1 and entry forms are due June 29th. Pictures must be clean, family friendly & “G-Rated” The Artist in the Woods exhibit at the Ozark Natural and Cultural Resource Center opens July 1 through July 22. Exhibit will feature the Art and Artisan Craft Fair where Artist in the Woods exhibitors will offer their creations for sale. Only those who are exhibiting or are members of the Current River Artists/Spring Creek Artisans will be able to take part in the Art and Artisans Craft Fair. Saturday, July 16, 8 AM – 2 PM will be “fair day” when the exhibitors offer their items for sale to the public. Jul 20 thru 23 - Annual 4-H/FFA Expo Market livestock show and 4-H project exhibits are open to Dent County's 4-H/FFA members. 1:00 PM Saturday, July 23 is the 4H/FFA Livestock Auction. Location: Dent County Commons Jul 14 - Stained Glass for Adults Learn an age-old form, stained glass. You will learn traditional techniques associated with stained glass work from artist Amber Pryor. $25 covers all material. Suitable for ages 12 and up. 9:00 AM-12 Noon. You can join the celebration by participating in the Centennial Passport and visiting all 88 state parks and historic sites. Purchase a passport online or at the state park gift shop, then visit each site and collect stamps. The first 1,000 participants to complete the passport will receive a Missouri State Park Centennial backpack and be entered into a drawing for one of five Missouri State Park vacation packages.
