Venues & Dates
There is no regional restriction for these competitions thus, clubs may enter either “Angel of the North”, “Jewel of the
South” or, both events. Please note that there are separate entry forms for each competition.

Competition Entry
ENTRY FEE: £30 per Gymnast; fee includes Event T-shirt & a £5.00 Alpha Factor leotard voucher that can be used
at the competition throughout the weekend to purchase leotards.
• All competing gymnasts MUST be current Associate Members of British Gymnastics.
• All Coaches accompanying gymnasts MUST be current and Full Members of British Gymnastics as well qualified
to the level of the participants’ performance.
Judges
Clubs entering Miss Alpha Factor North or South are required to nominate and supply the number of judges as per
below for each competition entered:
1 Competitor

1 Judge that can judge a whole day
9-14 Competitors 1 Judge that can judge x 2 whole days or, x 2 Judges that can judge x 1 whole day each
15+Competitors
1 Judge that can judge x 3 whole days (South) or, x 2-3 Judges that can judge x 1 whole day
each; totaling x 3 days
Please ensure all judges nominated hold a current judging award at the level of the gymnasts entered. Clubs need to
pay a fee @ £50.00 if they are either unable to provide a judge(s) or, if any of their nominated judge(s) fails to show
at the event. All judges will be fed & watered J!

* Gymnasts competing in Grades 8-5 will perform R & C for 1st-3rd Apparatus Awards only (and, for their
team total, if applicable); the individual score on this apparatus will not count toward the gymnast’s overall

This is not an official grading event and the final results cannot be used as such
Team Trophy Entry
Any club which, has at least one gymnast competing in each of the following competitions will be automatically
entered into the 2014 Team Trophy competition:
1. Club grade 14 or13 (including range)
2. Club grade 12 or 11 or 10 or 9 (no range)
3. National Grade 8 or 7 or 6 or 5 (range will count for the team total, though not for the gymnast’s overall total)
4. Compulsory level 5 or 4 or 3 or 2 or 1 (including range)
The highest scoring gymnast on each piece within the categories set out above will have their score count towards
the Team Trophy aggregate. Trophies will be awarded for both the North and South events.
Awards, Prizes & Presentations
• The Overall winner, within each grade & age group will receive a Tiara, “Barbie” & a 1st Place Sash
• Overall 2nd and 3rd, within each grade & age group, will receive a 2nd / 3rd Place Sash
• Overall 4th to 6th, within each grade & age group, will receive a 4th / 5th / 6th Place Rosette
• R & C 1st to 3rd Rosettes will be presented for Club Grades 8 to 5
Apparatus Certificates will be presented by the judges at each piece based on the gymnast’s E-Panel deductions on
each apparatus based on the table below.
Please note that awards for Compulsory & Club Grade gymnasts will be presented to those gymnasts that have been
credited with an attempt for all of the elements required on each apparatus. Awards for FIG gymnasts will be
presented to gymnasts that have performed a vault with a D-score of 4.00+, fulfilled 3 CRs on bars (C+ dismount ok)
and all 5 CRs on beam & floor.

• There are also several Special spot prizes that will be awarded by the judges throughout the competition.
• Individual presentations for each grade / level will be held at the end of each competition. The Team Trophy will
be awarded at the end of the weekend.
How to Enter & Pay
ENTRIES:
Complete the separate and relevant entry form file(s) and email to alphafactorentries@gmail.com placing your Club
Name in the Subject Header. Please do not post your entry form. I will email confirmation that your Entry has been
received.
PAYMENT METHODS:
a) Post a cheque for total amount payable to “Sarah Calvert” to: Alpha Factor Entries, 12 Haughley Drive,
Rushmere St.Andrew, Ipswich, IP4 5QU. Please write your Club name on the back of the cheque
b) Pay via Internet Banking by transferring the Total Amount due to Nationwide Building Society.

Spectator Tickets
It is possible and, recommended to order tickets via the event website www.alphafactorcompetitions.com.
Purchasing tickets in advance is essential as space is limited and entry to the Competition cannot be
guaranteed by turning up on the day. Spectator charges are as follows:

A £1 surcharge will be applied to each ticket not purchased in advance.
• A Junior is considered a Child who is 4-16 years old. Under 3’s will be admitted free of charge
• Gymnast Passes are only valid for their day of competition
• Tickets are non-refundable but maybe exchanged for equal value or, upgraded
Please note it is not possible to order tickets via post or telephone.
Filming & Photography
Registration will be required for Spectators at this Competition and can be done via the Spectator Entrance.
However, please inform your parents that official photographic proof of identity will be required (i.e. passport or
drivers licence).
Order of Rotation
The draw will be included with your Competition Programme, which will be sent to you in advance. Where possible,
gymnasts from the same club will be grouped together.
Angel of the North (Newcastle): It is intended that the Compulsory Grades, FIG & Club Grades 14 & 13 will be held
on Saturday with Club Grades 12-5 on Sunday. Please use this as a rough guide as the final Programme is
dependent upon the number of entries received.
Jewel of the South (Ipswich): It is intended that the Compulsory Grades & FIG Espoirs will be held on Friday, Club
Grades 14-12 & FIG Junior/Senior will be held on Saturday with Club Grades 11-5 on Sunday. Please use this as a
rough guide as the final Programme is dependent upon the number of entries received.

To maintain a friendly atmosphere, no protests are permitted; any queries over scores should be directed to Sarah
Calvert or Andy Wood.
