We are delighted to partner with the American Political Items Collectors website to host this sale and we hope that the material contained herein piques your interest and participation. The items in this catalog are being offered on a first-come, first-served, basis so please contact us as soon as possible to confirm the availability of your selections. Very attractive! $450 K40 - Theodore Roosevelt- Harmonica – Quality German-made working musical instrument measures 5 1/2”x 1 1/2” -“Roosevelt Rough Riders” Unusual and near mint! - $450 K41 - Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Souvenir Candy Container - 4”x2 1/4”x1 ½” deep 1905 Inaugural souvenir miniature suitcase (probably contained candy) marked “Roosevelt and Fairbanks”, SWEET! - $400 K42- Theodore Roosevelt Signed Plaster Plaques – Among my favorite items in this sale are these matched pair of dynamic plaster castings measuring 11 1/2” dia. x 1” thk and signed (A. Longumare). Featuring a “Smiling” and a “Sad” or at least a “Stern” looking Teddy – they are well executed items that I’ve never seen before. Exemplifying a bit of the Yin and Yang in political 3D for one of my personal favorite Presidents! $1,500 K43 - Theodore Roosevelt and Booker T. Washington Print – 12”x17” (sight) lithograph print of TR and B. T. Washington dining at the White House. Elegantly custom framed 20 1/2”x 25 1/2” Highly sought and in Excellent condition! $1,000 K44 - William Howard Taft Poster- “A Gentleman From Mississippi” fine large 30”x42” color poster illustrating President Taft’s reaction to the stage play. $2,250 K45 - Theodore Roosevelt Textile – 22” sq. multicolor textile in custom frame, commemorates signing of the Treaty of Portsmouth which ended the Russo-Japanese war. Custom Framed - $4,250 K47- Theodore Roosevelt – Highly Unusual Rough Rider parade hat from 1900 campaign inside band marked “McKinley and Roosevelt” a terrific parade item in amazingly well preserved condition! - $750 K48– 1904 Alton Parker and Henry Davis Jugate Campaign DecanterPreviously unseen top-quality cut crystal liquor decanter with goldtoned acid-etched eagle and shield surrounding portraits of Parker and Davis “For President and Vice President” respectively. Measures 11” tall and 3 1/2” diameter. Difficult to photograph but a sensational item to see in-person - $950 K49 - Alben W. Barkley Hat – An original hat belonging to the Vice President under Harry Truman, with a certificate of authenticity and inner hatband labeled with, “The Veep” by which Barkley was known to his grandkids! - $500 K50 - Theodore Roosevelt Pipes– a small group of three clay pipes: two quite similar featuring TR as rough rider priced each @ $250; the third a scarcer and much smaller clay pipe approx. 1 1/4” in length features only TR’s head and priced @ $200. Sold together as a set only - $270 Inscribed Inside lid K62 - Charles Evans Hughes Humidor – Cigar Humidor or desktop wood chest personally owned by Chas. E. Hughes! Measures a full 20”x14”x4” beautifully crafted with inlaid exotic woods. Gorgeous design possibly gubernatorial but more likely dates from his tenure in the U.S. Supreme Court or as Chief Justice of the United States – Truly exquisitely made and a marvelous display presence for which the photographs do not due justice! (no pun intended) - $3,250 K63- TR Cigar Boxes - A pair of standard cigar boxes for Theodore Roosevelt: the first features his portrait although exhibiting some age as can be seen in the photo; the second is missing its original lid and instead does have a rather scarce glass cover which contains advertising for the 10 cent TR cigars “Worthy of the Name”! Available as a pair only - $250 K64 - John F. Kennedy Associated – One of several scarce letters authored by famous stripper, Blaze Star. She writes in her own hand complete with artistic doodling's explaining in graphic detail a certain marvelously scandalous rendezvous with President Kennedy. JFK presumably had several secretive “close encounters” with the famous Washington striptease performer. A copy of the full descriptive text is available upon request. Call or email me for a transcript. Letter is housed in a custom frame under glass. - $3,500 K65 - John F. Kennedy Pipe– terrific carved figural meerschaum pipe in silklined leather case , Superb! - $450 K66 - U.S Grant Ring - Amazing 10K gold men’s ring with exquisitely detailed cameo of Grant on black onyx. Large impressive 1 3/4x1” size - $1,500 K67 - Benjamin Butler Match Safe – rare 4” tall x 2 1/2” wide parian porcelain match holder with original lid, the key item often missing. Slogan, “Contraband Of War—Set Them At Work; A Match For Anyone” a reference to freed slaves. excellent very clean condition with no chips or cracks! - $950 K68—Rough Rider Charge by Parker Bros.— Rare puzzle game 15”x10” featuring Theodore Roosevelts Charge of the Rough Riders! Wonderfully brilliant colors in a custom 21 1/2” x 26 1/2” frame featuring the completed puzzle and the puzzle box (few minor creases on the cover) extraordinary display presence! - $450 K69 - Theodore Roosevelt Gold Dust Twins Print– 9 1/2”x20” (sight) color litho advertising print of TR in Africa presumably searching for and finding the perfect cleanser to bring back to America. Minor creases here and there, this is a later print issued during the 1920’s. - $850 K70 - Theodore Roosevelt Original Pen and Ink Art – entitled “Twilight Zone” a militant TR is featured with shield and helmet in reference to the Twilight Zone a term used in his 1912 Progressive Party acceptance speech: A great 1912 campaign related item! 10”x14” in custom frame- $500 K71- Theodore Roosevelt Large Movie Poster– 25”x38” poster for “Our Teddy” great full color graphics TR with children in 29”x 41” frame - $575 K72 - Theodore Roosevelt Jr. Recruitment Poster– 19”x24” from the legendary Peter Scanlan collection with artwork by famed illustrator James Montgomery Flagg, rare WWII poster in custom frame (not shown)! - $1,000 K73 - Champions of Al Smith Poster – A multitude of sports legends of the day endorse Al Smith in this rare and dynamic 22”x28” poster!
