This month, we feature a number of organizations who have just celebrated
their founding anniversaries as well. Most of the activities of different
associations now are geared towards helping our less fortunate countrymen,
especially the victims of the recent typhoons that left parts of our country
in ruins.
Last November 14, our very own Manny Pacquiao made us all proud to
be Filipino again. He knocked out Miguel Cotto to win a 7th title in a 7th
weight division. A record he now shares with no one. Even though he had
a tough task at hand, his determination never wavered and with us, his
countrymen behind him, he fought gallantly for our country. Many now
consider him as the greatest of all time, but the greatest thing about Manny
is that he remains a humble champion.
Like Manny, we at FIM always think of the greater things that we can
accomplish but stay grounded and always remembering what brought us
to publish this magazine in the first place, and that is to be of service to the
Filipino community here in Hong Kong.

hope that our bond long continues.

On 13 October 2009, ComElec delisted
Migrante Sectoral Party along with 25 other
partylist groups without due process. The
Commission said, MSP failed to participate
in the last two preceding election and failed to
obtain at least two percentum (2%) of the vote
casts in the two preceding elections.
Time does not stop and so do we.
Hopefully, we can continue to rely on
your support to keep us motivated, as
always, to bring you the best friendtastic
magazine that you have come to know

by Vicky Casia Cabantac initiated the petition
through a signature campaign jointly signed
by leaders of various Filipino Organizations
attending the Tribal Filipino Sunday held on

Happy 4th anniversary FIM, we would like
to thank FIM for its existence, my friend
sent me a copy here in Calgary, we love
reading it, as if we are still there in Hong
Kong. We could still see our friends, the
photo activities and inspiring, informative
articles. We’ve learned a lot from it through
the writers, columnists’ articles shared in it.

According to MSP, it participated in the 2004
election and had not run in the 2007 election
so that it can prepare itself better for the 2010
elections. Hence, ComElec’s interpretation
is flawed and nullifies the participation of
MSP in the next year’s election. Worse, this
was done without prior notice or hearing as
required by the partylist law. MSP’s delisting
smacks of political motivation.
For over three decades now, Migrante has
become the severest critic of the Philippine
Government for its labor export policy. The
government stands to benefit from stopping
MSP in its bid to have a seat in congress
through partylist race.
MSP had already filed a petition to ComElec
and vowed to bring their fight to the Supreme
Court if ComElec turns down their appeal
to be reinstated in the list and be qualified
for participation before the official campaign
starts on February 2010.
“Is this the way the government is treating
what it hails as modern day heroes? Migrante
had done a lot during the Overseas Absentee
Voting Registration in helping the ComElec,
yet this de- listing happen without a valid
reason. This is not acceptable.” Said Cristy
Casia, one of the Filipino Leaders attending
the program.
There is an estimated 9 Million documented
Filipino Migrant Workers in 203 countries
around the world but yet there is no single
migrant representative in the congress until
now.

Mga kuro-kuro at palapalagay
dito bibigyang buhay . . .
hatid ni April Joy
“Sa iyong palagay, may pagbabago
kayang mararanasan ang mga
Pilipino sa paghahanda sa nalalapit
na kapaskuhan?”
Melanie Ragot – Shatin
masaya at magarbong pasko at wala itong
pagbabago.”
Adelaida Barcelona – Chai Wan
“Mararamdaman ang
pagbabago
ngayong
nalalapit
na
ang
kapaskuhan kumpara
kabuhayan at mga tirahan, gustuhin man nila
wala silang magagawa kundi makuntento
decors at handa. Saka aanhin natin ang
8
Jovita Pascua – Tokwawan
“Totoo na maraming
pagbabago ngayong taon
na ito sa pagsalubong
sa kapaskuhan dahil
sa katatapos pa lang
ng mga kalamidad
sa bansa mayaman
man o mahirap ay
naapektuhan,
kapwa Pilipino. Sa mga OFWs naman, siguro
hindi na rin masyadong magbibibili ng mga
bagay na pwede namang wala. Mas uunahin
na lang siguro nila ang mga importanteng
bagay na ipapadala sa kanilang pamilya.”
Nora Concepcion – Yuen Long
muli, at lalong nagiging
malapit sa isat-isa
sa
mga
okasyong
katulad
ng
pasko.
Sa mga salat naman
nating kababayan na
naapektuhan ng sunodsunod na bagyo ay
magiging masaya rin
ang kanilang pasko
kahit na sa isang simpleng paghahanda at
salo-salo.
Ruth Ramos – Tsing Yi
“Sa aking palagay kung
magkukusa
lamang
tayong mga Pilipino na
magkaisa at mataimtim
na manalangin sa Diyos
at sabayan natin ng ng
gawa at sikapin nating
nating ekonomiya. At sa mga kababayan
nating naapektuhan ng mga kalamidad, sana
naman mag share ang mga nanunungkulan
sa ating gobyerno ng kaunti nilang karangyaan
sa buhay. Para naman makapag bigay sila ng
saya sa mga kababayan. Sa mga katulad kong
OFW siguro wala namang magbabago ganon
pasko.

The author has been in the public service of the Filipino Overseas Workers in Hong Kong for the past 20 years. He gives free advice and

call him, is currently the Vice President of INSURANCE OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS CO., INC. For free counseling, please

FEELING LIKE A LOCAL
Dear Bro. Rolly,
My Filipino father was married to my Chinese
mother whose parents are Chinese who migrated
from Taipei to the Philippines when they were
young. In all appearance I am Chinese and while I
speak fluent Tagalog I also learned to speak Fookien
and Mandarin.
I am also good at cooking Chinese dishes due to
the influence of my grandparents. When my
father passed away four years ago, I decided to seek
employment abroad to support my younger brothers
and sisters.
Since I didn’t finish college, the quickest job abroad
is that of being a domestic helper. It wasn’t difficult
for me to get that job when my Chinese employer
learned that I speak Mandarin and I know how to
cook Chinese food.
I came to Hong Kong towards the end of 2006 and
have been with my present employer since then.
They really like me since I do my job well and there
is no cultural difference at all because of my Chines
blood and upbringing.
When I finished my first year contract in November,
2008 my employer decided to hire me as a sales clerk
in one of her beauty parlors in Hong Kong. She said
nobody would suspect that I am a Filipina helper
since I speak Chinese and I look like a Chinese.
She gave me a salary of HK$7,000 a month
which is almost double the salary I received as a
domestic helper. I was very much thankful for that
opportunity she gave me as I was able to send more
money to finance the schooling of my brothers and
sisters.
She increased my salary to HK$7,500 beginning
May of this year. I should have been happy because
of that increase but instead I got so disappointed
when I learned that my co-worker who is a genuine
Hong Kong national but is a mere parlor cleaner or
janitress is paid HK$9,000 a month.
This is unfair to me since I hold a higher and more
responsible position in the shop.
May I seek your advice so that I could get a fair
treatment from my employer.
Rita, Kowloon
DEAR RITA,
Do not fool yourself by believing that you
should be treated like a local Chinese resident
of Hong Kong.
10
Quite frankly I will tell you now – you are
illegally employed. You have been permitted
by the Immigration Departrment to work and
stay in Hong Kong only as a domestic helper
in accordance with the terms and conditions of
the standard employment contract. Any other
kind of job outside of your domestic duties is
ILLEGAL and subject to imprisonment and
fines or BOTH and you will not be permitted
to work again in Hong Kong in the future.
Adding more misery to my problem is when I learned
that my 7-year old daughter has speech problem as
relayed to me by her teacher.
My advice – talk to your employer, who is
also in violation of the law and who is liable
to prosecution and penalty as well, and tell
her frankly that you do not want to violate
the condition of your stay and that you just
want to stay in her flat to work as helper as
per contract.
DEAR MS. SERY,
If you are doing good in your household
duties, why not perform better. If you are
doing good-tasting Chinese dishes, why don’t
you do better-tasting dishes.
The quality of your work will speak for
yourself and your employer is not blind not
to recognize it – and then your salary increase
will naturally follow.
Bro. Rolly
DON’T BLAME ME
Dear Bro. Rolly,
I have recently signed up for my 3rd contract
with my employer. For the past four years of my
employment with my Chinese employer, I was able
to save and at the same time to buy a low-cost house
in Bulacan.
I have four children aged 7, 9, 15 and 18 years all of
whom are going to government schools.
My husband is a jeepney driver and if not for my job
as a domestic helper, I don’t think we will be able to
buy any property and enjoy a comfortable life.
In early March, my oldest daughter texted me from
Bulacan informing me that my husband gets drunk
almost every night and sometimes beat them for no
apparent reason. That surprised me because from the
time I have known him, he never drinks. She also
noticed her father putting my old underwear under
his pillows for reasons she could not understand.
She also told me the problem about my 15-year
old son who does not want to study anymore. His
grades in the school are failing and he lost interest to

Pains and Aches We Should Not Ignore
by Bernadette M. Benitez
Fellow OFWs “Our Health Is Our Wealth”.
See to it that we eat healthy food, have a
balanced diet, enough sleep and maintain
cleanliness.
I can only blame my husband for his failure to do his
job as a parent while I am away.
I will appreciate to receive your advice.
Miss Sery, Chaiwan
Most husbands I know get drunk due to several
reasons: 1) bad habit; 2) wanting to forget a
bad feeling or memory; 3) sad and lonely.
Your husband’s attitude falls under Category 2
and 3 – wanting to forget a bad feeling and sad
and lonely. It cannot be Category 1 because
as you said he was never a drunkard ‘cause he
never s drinks.
What is happening to your husband is what
I term – ATTENTION CALLER. Your
husband’s message is clear he wants you home.
He needs help because he could not cope up
with the parenting job alone and he miss you
so much as shown by his placing your undies
under his pillows.
Your attention is also being called by your 15year old son who does not want to continue
studying anymore. His grades are failing and
I am sure this is intentional on his part just to
tell you that he needs the care, love and aid of
a mother – YOU.
My advice – GO HOME before it’s too late
that you might find your husband in the arms
of another woman because you cannot provide
the love and affection he needs from his wife –
YOU.
Bro. Rolly
However, being an OFW, we sometimes can’t
avoid late sleep. Others don’t even have enough
food supply by employers, an unbalanced-diet
and incorrect time for meals, so pains and
aches arise. At any rate, let’s find ways and
means to survive. Always inject our faith in
God in every circumstance. In my research,
I came across kinds of pains and aches we
shouldn’t ignore.
PAIN IN THE LOWER BACK OR
BETWEEN SHOULDER BLADES - Most
often it is arthritis but the other possibilities
are heart attack or abdominal problems. One
danger is aortic dissection which can appear as
nagging or sudden pain. Those who have high
blood pressure, with history of circulatory
problems, smokers and diabetics are at risk.
People at risk are menopausal women and
elderly men with high blood pressure.
PAIN/DISCOMFOURT IN THE CHEST,
THROAT, JAW OR SHOULDER, ARM OR
ABDOMEN - Chest pain could be pneumonia
or heart attack, heart conditions typically
appear as discomfort not pain, heart patients
talk about pressure like an elephant sitting on
their chest, heart disease can masquerade as
stomach trouble such as bloating or discomfort
in the abdomen, pain associated with heart
disease could also be in the upper chest, throat,
jaw, left shoulder or arm accompanied by
nausea. Don’t take it lightly. Have it diagnosed.
VAGUE, COMBINED OR MEDICALLY
UNEXPLAIN PAINS - Various painful and
physical symptoms are common in depression.
Patients will have vague complains of headache,
abdominal pain or limb pain, sometimes in
combination. The pain maybe chronic and
not terribly debilitating depressed people, their
families and health care professionals might
dismiss the symptoms. Loss of interest in
activities, inability to work or think effectively
and difficulty in getting along people are
symptoms of depression.
BURNING FEET OR LEGS - People don’t
know that they have diabetes. Peripheral
neuropathy could be one of the first signs.
Burning or pains and needle sensation in the
feet or legs can indicate nerve damage.
But what is Pain? Pain - is the body’s way of
greeting your attention when something is
wrong; you are probably in tune enough with
your body to know when pain is just a bother,
perhaps the carrying of everyday heavy loads
or having indigestion after eating unhealthy
food. You know that an alaxan or an alka
seltzer will solve the problem. Its when pain
might signal something begins, so when in
doubt, don’t self medicate… see a doctor.
Here are the kinds of pains we shouldn’t
ignore:
THE WORST HEADACHE OF YOUR LIFE
- If we Experience this we must see a doctor.
It could be an aneurysm, brain hemorrhage or
brain tumor. If that person has a cold, it could
be a sinus headache. Otherwise, it could either
be an aneurysm or sinus.
CALF PAIN - This is one of the lesser known
dangers in vein. It affects millions of people.
It can be threatening because a piece of the
clot could break loose and cause pulmonary
embolism (a clot in the lungs) which could
be fatal, cancer, obesity, immobility due to
prolonged bed rest or long distance travel,
pregnancy and advance age, swelling or painful
calf muscles, see the doctor quickly.
SEVERE ABDOMINAL PAIN - Don’t flirt
with the possibility of a rupture, if you still
have your appendix, gall bladder, pancreas and
stomach ulcers, intestinal blockages are some
possible causes of abdominal pain that need
attention.

Mission of Love to the
Typhoon Victims
by Apostle Renato D. Carillo / ORAS NG HIMALA staff
Please Join Jesus Is
Our Shield Worldwide Ministries in Helping
Typhoon Victims in the Philippines
After the devastating Typhoon Ondoy
(International Name: Ketsana) battered
Luzon and Metro Manila on September 26,
2009 which took away innumerable lives and
properties, Typhoon Pepeng (International
Name: Parma) followed on October 3, 2009
and caused disaster to northern tip of Luzon,
hitting the province of Isabela. It turned
back on October 8, 2009 and wrought more
destruction in Northern Luzon, mostly in
Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
It had weakened into a tropical depression,
bringing strong winds and heavy rains that
caused unimaginable damages through
widespread landslides in the northern
mountain province of Benguet and Baguio
City.
In Pangasinan, several dams were forced
to release a vast amount of water, making
60% to 70% towns in under floodwaters and
submerging some 70% towns. Wide hectares
of crops were damaged. It has been reported
that more than 50 towns were hugely affected
and in great distress. They lost their homes,
properties and livelihood. The death toll has
been continuously increasing and many were
injured and declared missing. Thousands
upon thousands of people have been displaced
in a number of evacuation centers.
Pastors and ministerial staff arrived at the
place ahead to share the comforting word of
God first before the Mission of Love team
came to distribute the relief goods. The people
were led in repentance and acceptance to our
Lord Jesus Christ as the sick and afflicted
also were ministered. They were so grateful
as they received bread, rice, canned goods,
noodles, drinking water, and clothing.

victims have been helped. Relief goods which

and afflicted were ministered.
Presently, thousands of families are still
waiting for our helping hand as their homes

Wendy of Chai Wan
Hong Kong has a Charter for Rights of
Crime Victims that is applicable to Melinda
who was a victim of attempted rape and
wounding with intent. Wendy should be
able to help Melinda by telling her about the
various rights and obligations of the victim
and the different government authorities, law
enforcement agencies that will protect her.
Despite Melinda suffering much pain and
aguish, she has a paramount duty to help
maintain law and order in Hong Kong.
She needs to report and cooperate with the
police department to enable them to properly
investigate the matter. It takes courage to
discuss an attempted rape to a total stranger
such as police officers so Wendy needs to
encourage Melinda that doing so is the best
thing that a victim could do. There will be
high confidentiality involved during the
investigation process and Melinda will be
handled by professional people who are
sensitive to her experience. Her privacy and
dignity will be protected. The enforcement
people will be courteous to her.
Reporting a crime should not be a scary
proposition to any victim and it is not
meant to put the victim on further possible
acts of violence. Melinda should not put
herself to risk by personally handling her
own investigation. She should give as much
information as she can reasonably remember
and know about her assailant and the
offence committed against her person. If the
prosecution is to proceed, Melinda has a duty
to appear in court and become a witness.
Melinda should take further precautions on
her everyday safety. If necessary she should
consider living in another boarding house
where the assailant will not be able to track
her. Changing telephone number is easily
done same as changing the lock and key of
the door where she lives. Even though we
lived in a civilized society such as Hong
Kong, it is advisable that Melinda should not
attract would be assailants. She should dress
modestly and not create trouble for herself.
When there are suspicious circumstances,
she should call the police by dialing 999.
Prevention is better than cure.
Hong Kong autorities should efficiently
respond to Melinda’s complaint and instigate
fair and proper investigation on the crime
committed. Melinda may need the assistance
of a Philippine Interpreter who can speak
her mother dialect while giving her police
statement. She has the right to speak in the
language she is most comfortable. The police
will oblige and they will call the required
interpreter without any costs involved for
Melinda. She will have to prepare herself by
giving truthful and full details of the incident
and in so doing her criminal record if any will
be checked. I assume that Melinda is of clear
record in Hong Kong and in Philippines. If
the statement taking cannot finish within one
session, Melinda will be requested to come
for another session to continue. At the end
of each statement taking, Melinda will be
provided with a copy of her statement be it
in video form or in hard copy. She will also
be provided with the details of the persons
who took her statements such as names, staff
numbers, rank, telephone and fax numbers.
Anytime, she can get updates from her Case
Officer. If Melinda suffered physical injuries,
she will be referred by the police officer for
medical treatment and certification of her
injuries. Where appropriate she could be
referred to social welfare departments and
other legal services.
Melinda should be aware that the prosecution
of the case may not proceed especially if the
evidence as assessed by the prosecution is not
sufficient to make out a prima facie case. The
assailant may not be in the territory, cannot
be identified even by Melinda, there is a
good alibi that the assailant was in another
location at the material time of the crime,
the evidence is so circumstantial that it hangs
on a thin thread. Melinda will be informed
of the progress of the case and the ultimate
decision to proceed or not. Melinda will be
given orientation as to court procedures, her
role as the main witness to the crime, the date
and place of the trial, the final disposal of
the case and any appeal outcome if any. If
the prosecution successfully got conviction
in court, Melinda will be informed about
the sentence imposed and also when the
friends International Magazine NOVEMBER 2009
defendant gets out of custody.
In the court, Melinda will be provided
facility where she and other witnesses can
remain while waiting to be called. There
will be separate facility for the prosecution
and defence witnesses. Witnesses who are
summoned to attend and gave evidence are
entitled to daily witness allowance to cover
their traveling and food expenses for the day.
Melinda may want court protection that her
name, address and identification details not
published in any mass media like newspapers,
radio or television. The prosecutor will apply
to the court, justifying the need for privacy
and confidentiality. The court will then order
the court reporters present not to mention
the personal details of Melinda. In some
instances, the victim of a sexual offence may
not want to personally face the assailant again.
Then a request for a CCTV link trial can be
made and if the court approves, Melinda can
give evidence through video link. After trial,
Melinda can get back her personal property
used during the court proceedings. In some
high profile cases, Victims may request for
Witness Protection from the authorities. I do
not foresee this applicable to Melinda.
Melinda can opt for compensation from
her ordeal through a civil claim under
appropriate circumstances. But this will be
protracted and it involves further legal cost
for Melinda. If she claims less than 1million,
she files her claim at the District Court.
More than 1 million, she files her claim at
the High Court. If Melinda is intent on
pursuing compensation for damages after
the trial, she should approach the Legal Aid
Department and apply for their services.
She being a domestic helper and out of job
at the moment, she cannot afford private
representation to pursue her civil claims.
Other options include the court to order
monetary compensation from the defendant
to the victim for her injuries. Restitution
Order can also be awarded if Melinda
suffered property damage. These 2 orders
are quick and done when the defendant is
sentenced by the judge. Melinda can also
seek compensation from the Criminal and
Law Enforcement Compensation Scheme
offered by the Hong Kong Government. The
amount will not be as high as a successful
civil claim but the paper requirements are
minimal.

The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait
for the winds to come. When the storm hits,
it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up
and lift it above the storm. While the storm
rages below, the eagle is soaring above it. The

the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds

Members of PCADE were touched by how

PCADE dancers met with some of the

enjoying working in HOLF even it’s far from

care the HOLF children and treat them as

And it also shows that all of us are children
of God coz of the aids and undying helped
from all walks of life, from other nation, other
countries, cultural differences, race, color,
beliefs, traditions never been a hindrance to
help our beloved country Philippines.
When the storms of life come upon us and all
of us will experience them it may not be easy
but we can rise above them by setting our
minds and our belief in Jesus, our God and
daily committing and trusting our life and way
to Him. The storms do not have to overcome
us. We can allow God’s power to lift us above
them. God enables us to ride the winds of the
storm that bring sickness, tragedy, failure and
disappointment in our lives. Remember, it is
not the burdens of life that weigh us down,
but rather, how we handle them.
As God’s Word says, “And we know that in all
things God works for the good of those who
love him, who have been called according to
his purpose.”Admittedly, this can take time.

Meaningful Life
drowned after saving most of his neighbors
when Typhoon Ondoy wrecked havoc in their
community. We mourn his death, yet we celebrate his life as well – and etch him in that
special place in our hearts where we keep and
honor our heroes.
yet their lives continue to individually touch
our own and collectively affect our generation. These are the people who wisely made
it count during their life time and made their
investment of time and purpose outlast their
earthly existence. We see this in the example
of a father who left a lasting legacy to his family; a teacher who made an achiever out of a
known delinquent student; a faithful friend
who did not sell out on a commitment; or a
boss who never gave up on a physically-challenged worker.
It is a fact that we need not die for another in
order to make our lives meaningful; we only
have to live honorable lives – by daily purposefully living with integrity and dignity, without
duplicity and deceit, especially decidedly going the extra mile or taking the high road.
All things considered, we are still infinitely
blessed – because we still have the opportunity
to make up for any failures, step up to our destiny, keep up with our present commitments,
and move on to wherever our purposes, choices, decisions, and actions may bring us.

In life, we can absolutely make a difference.
Let us begin by becoming the change we want
to see in this world. Let us begin today.
by Bishop. Eddie Villanueva
While there are those
who criticize the
seeming “commercialism”
attached
to the occasion, the
annual remembrance of our dearly departed
loved ones during All Saints/Souls’ Day celebration definitely has become a valuable part
of the traditional Filipino culture. And despite
the criticisms, it can be said that the remembrance of our dearly departed remains a binding force that keeps family ties much stronger.
Beyond the customary exercise of going to memorial parks and offering flowers and candles
in their memory, however, the occasion also
calls for a much deeper appreciation of life.
The message that the grave so loudly reinforces is the fact that life has its ending, and it’s the
inescapable fate of all men – great or small.
We shall pass this way but once. The difference
maker, really, is how we live it out. There are
two checkpoints by which we may measure
our progress on our earthly journey.
*****
First, we ought to daily live like we’re dying. We may mirror the truth that life has its
end, and that we should make every second of
every day count, in the lives of those who are
critically and terminally ill.
I personally have had numerous encounters
and dealings with people who were at the
brink of death. They would plead for prayers
and ask God for healing so that they might get
a new lease on life. In their death bed, they
would bargain for more time because they
wanted to make up for lost times with longneglected loved ones, fulfill a long-overdue
promise, or pursue a long-delayed passion. In
all these instances, a tinge of regret could always readily be discerned.
There are so many people who died ages past

sa bubong at pagkabasa ng kanilang mga
kagamitan.
grasya.
mangyari bago pa man dumalaw si “Pepeng”
binaha hanggang bubungan, inutusan
siyang maghanap ng matinong pagbibigyan
ng donasyon na makakarating agad. May hipag
Foundation. Kabilang ding maituturing ang mga amo
ni Elsie Miana, na sina Mr. & Mrs. Ben
Bulmer, tubong Scotland.
Pangasinan. Nagmukhang disyerto at halos
niyang pinagsisilbihan. Hindi siya nawalan ng
pag asa, patago niyang sinubukang magsabi

We need not come to the point of death in order for us to realize that when it comes to the
issues of life, there is more than meets the eye.
May we discover what is truly important to us,
before we finally hit the point of no returning.

Second, we ought to daily live with, and for,
a purpose. The real essence of life can never
be measured by how long we’ve lived, but how
well.
What good is a life of a hundred years if it has
failed to touch another’s? It is a tragedy when
we go on living, unmindful of the opportunities presented to us to make a difference in the
lives of other people.
This is probably why we naturally mourn the
death of those who sacrifice their lives for others. It is impossible not to be moved by the
story of a 19-year-old boy from Marikina who

Balitang Showbiz
ni Noel Asinas
Jennylyn,
walang
bagong
boyfriend
DINEDENY ni Jennylyn Mercado
na may karelasyon siya ngayong
band member. Single daw siya
ngayon at ayaw pang ma-in love
muli. Tama na munang asikasuhin
niya ang kanyang baby AJ at ang
yumayabong na career sa GMA 7.
Patrick wala
pa ring
sustento sa
love child nila
At
least na bubuhay niyang sarili ang
love child nila ni Patrick. Masaya

http://www.youtube.com/bitoystv.
SPEAKING of Jennylyn Mercaco,
kumportable.”
Mark Herras,
nakarecover
na sa minor
accident
Si AJ ang inspiration ngayon ni
Jen para pa siyang magsikap pang
magtrabaho para sa future ng
bata.
Kasama si Patrick sa bagong
soap ng GMA, ang Full House..
Pagbibidahan ang Full House
nina Richard Gutierrez at Heart
Evangelista.
NAKARECOVER na si Mark Herras sa
aksidenteng tinamo niya sa Tagaytay
City habang sumasakay sa long
board. Ibang klaseng skateboard ito.
Mas mahaba at mas matulin. Kaya
lang sinawing palad siyang tumaob
at nasukagatan ang magkabilang
braso ng actor. Buti na lang hindi
siya napilayan. Sugat lang ang
kanyang tinamo.
Dahil sa sugat niya sa braso, hindi
siya nakapaglalabas ng ilang
linggo sa SOP. Nagpahinga talaga
si Mark para gumaling ang suga
agad.

kailangan mong umalis
sa anumang programang

Matunog na lumalabas

ngayon na si Dingdong
Dantes ang makakapalit

ni Richard sa isang presscon daw.

More than half a million na ang nakatayang premyo sa

Ms. Earth 2009 candidates, super gaganda
Pauleen nail-link sa
apo ni Henry Sy
BLOOMING
ang beauty ni Pauleen Luna
nang nakausap
namin sa taping
ng Ikaw Sana!
Sa Il Terrazo sa
Morato Ave.,
Quezon City,
last Friday.
Paano raw ay
may baong
suitor siya
ngayon, ang apo
ni Henry Sy,ng
SM Malls.
isang kabubukas na store ng Save and More na pag-aari
rin ng mga Sy.
Ani Pauleen: “Naku, nagkita lang kami at
magkatuwang kami sa ribbon cutting. Tapos,
siyempre, nagkakuwentuhan kahit paano. Pero,
hanggang ganoon lang iyon.
“Di ako ngayon nag-e-entertain ng suitor. Ayokong
SM North Edsa.
Nepal at Puerto Rico.
para sa tatanghaling “Face of New Placenta”.
Ecovillage Resort and Convention Center.
“Dahil naka-move on na ako, ayaw ko nang iditalye kung ano ang dahilan ang split up
namin.

taping ng Show Me Da Manny.
I hardly understand this kind of feeling
Something in my heart i knew is missing
Though i`m sorrounded with friends and
family
Sadness inside of me still i can`t deny
This kind of feeling kept on bothering me
But afraid to show and share this to anyone
Pretending i`m fine and think them i`m happy
knowing not i got a heart that is so empty
before and after ng fight na magaganap sa Nov. 15 ( Nov. 14 sa US)
sa MGMGrand Arena sa Las Vegas. Pangalawa’y para sa pagti-taping
ng episode ng Show Me Da Manny mismo sa lugar na pinuntahan ni
Pambansang Kamao.
In quiet times someone tells me to change my
life`s direction
For darkness is what i`ve seen most on my
sorroundings
Wasting not this awakening call whispered
on me
Tears began to flow as i silently uttered my
pray`rs
Contis. Di makasama si Pekto dahil walang US Visa. Ang tanong: Makasunod din kaya si Marian Rivera sa taping doon ng Show Me Da
Manny? In my heart i realized i was all wrong
Blinded for so long to the world i thought i
belong
Knowing now the deeper purpose of why i`m
living
Leads me to abide with my master who`s
there from the beginning
gagawin doon. May schedule siya sa Las Vegas at Los Angeles, California.
Anyway, ang Show Me Da Manny ay tuluy-tuloy na mapapanood si Manny sa sitcom tuwing Sunday pagkatapos ng
Bandaoke dahil maraming reserbang ginawa si Pacman sa show.
Wally at Jose,
nabibigyan ng
magagandang
role sa Wow,
Hayop
WALANG kakupas-kupas ang pagiging
komedyante ni Wally Bayola. Nakilala
si Wally bilang ka-tandem ni Jose
Manalo sa noontime show na Eat
Bulaga.
May darating ding
manghuhula sa show, ano kaya ang mahuhula nito? Maapektuhan kaya ang pagsasama bilang tandem nina Jose at
Wally?

THE ART OF FRIENDSHIP
by Ms. Hazel M. Napuaga, Victoria Canada
A friend of mine was so dear to me
With fortune live rough and lean coz
I just began to know that friends are treasure
Nor gold, silver or bronze can’t measure
The bondage of promises are kept to
remember
No insults, no gossips, no backfights, no rusty
words
Instead; encouragement, praise, loyalty, and
understanding
And nothing to measure afterall the promises.
A true friend never say I can’t instead I will...
Never disappear when needed & never will in
a day
Favors you in times of arguments and
troubles
Sadness comes they never run.
Friendship that binds two through likes &
dislikes
They together agree to keep secrets & not to
reveal
But only TRUST can do the magic of
Friendship
And so the story of friendship keeps on ....
Revealing day by day!!!
DEAREST LOVE
by Ms. Hazel M. Napuaga, Victoria Canada
When darkest comes and I’m alone
Your presence gives me hope
And when I faint and can’t cope
I feel the need inside of me.
I never understand before you came
That your love could be a mystery
But every part of me, you give light
And I feel your love inside of me.
Simulat sapol siya’y aking kasa-kasama
Karga-karga at kinakantahan pa
Ngunit isang araw may nangyaring trahidya
Sa pamangkin kong mahal siya ay
nadisgrasya
niya makaya
Sa araw-araw ng paggising siya ay lumuluha

MAZE OF LIFE
ni Blandee Ancheta
Walking in the maze of life
I barely see the light
Like a thief in the night
That`s wandering around
Puzzled in what direction to take
Bothers me so much along my journey
Am i going to see the light
That would bring me to my destiny
Where this maze leads me
Will it ever solve this mystery
On the crossroad that is too many
which i`m going to fallow
Can someone hear my voice
That i utter silently in mind
Am i stock in this maze of life
Without reaching for my dreams
Weak and tired of wandering around
In this so-called maze of life
I lay down and rest for a while
As i prayed in silence to the One above
Puzzled as it is to the crossroad of life
But with a new streght that born in my heart
In solving for the maze of life
I will be still now i knew that God is my guide

HORO S C OP E
Scorpio (Oct 24 - Nov 22) It is best to keep to yourself
today rather than try to cooperate or coordinate your
efforts with anyone you are close to at this time. You
are inclined to be aggressive and maybe cranky now
especially if you don’t get your way. So the best plan is
avoid anything or anyone that might just trip your trigger
toda. Emotions: Good ~ Money: Good ~ Wellness: Good
Power Numbers: 46, 43, 5, 4, 8, 38
Libra (Sep 23 - Oct 23) Ask and you shall receive, so
if you want it, go for it. Part of it is about intuitively
knowing just what to ask for, what’s really available,
and who’s in the mood for giving. Go with your
feelings and you’ll be surprised at what’s at your
command and how they respond to your charm and
energy. Emotions: Fair ~ Money: Good ~ Wellness:

WHAT WE’RE ALL ABOUT…..
For many years, Balingit Home Furnishing,
or BHF, has been anonymous to furniture
and appliance that suite every kind of home.
Our stores, located in key cities of Northern
Luzon and Metro Manila, carry products
which are not only of high quality but have
the best value for your money.
At BHF, we only get products from reputable
suppliers. We are accredited distributors of
well known appliance manufacturers such
as Sony, JVC, National Panasonic, LG
Collins, Sharp, AKIRA, Standard, WhiteWestinghouse, BElectown, Imarflex, La
Germania and Carrier; and furniture such
as Salem, Mapres, Poly Foam-uratex, Jeff
& Joy, Jenshyl, Scenic and SCF Eurotech
(Sanwa).
We select our items with care to make sure
that every customer who walks into our
stores would find something that would suit
their needs. Our staffs are also trained to
make shopping easy and convenient.
Being a progressive company, BHF has not
initiated itself in Home Furnishing, it is
also into Pawn shop, Jewelry and Watches
sales, Rural Banking, Supermarket and
Department Stores business, for which it
has earned quality service, honesty and
credibility.
All of our BHF Stores offers friendly
installment terms to our clients. We believed
in making our products accessible and
affordable to today’s money-smart buyers.
We also accept all major credit cards.

keeping our name to remind us of our humble
beginnings when hard work, diligence and
honestly proved to be the ideals that would
bring about our company’s prosperity and
success. This continuous to be our guiding
philosophy at BHF.
Virgo (Aug 23 - Sep 22) Withdrawing from
emotional social contact is favored now, for even
when you are with others you are likely to feel
separate and alone. Sadness and disappointments
in your personal life are also probable now. It is a
time to be quiet and to look objectively at how your
relationships are going. Though not a pleasurable
time, this can be a beneficial period in which to
learn more about love and what you truly value.

Power Numbers: 49, 24, 42, 30, 3, 26
Leo (Jul 23 - Aug 22) Your intuition is what the
energy is about for you today. Let your sweetie
in on how you feel rather than to assume they
already know. And if you’ve been keeping your
eye on someone that you’d like to have in your
life, it might not be so bad to take a risk and
let them know, but do follow your intuition.

Gemini (May 21 - Jun 21) Something you’ve
awaited can now be successful. You’ve worked hard
and played just as hard as well and in any case you
can start to reap the benefits of your efforts and
the investment of the past few months. Take care
of your health at this time as there’s also a need
for relaxation and time out from the daily grind.
Emotions: Good ~ Money: Fair ~ Wellness: Good
Power Numbers: 46, 32, 21, 14, 33, 10
Cancer (Jun 23 - Jul 23) It may be difficult to
maintain your perfect image when other distractions
draw your attention elsewhere. Save your stage
appearances for later and check the mirror only
after you’ve finished with necessary business.
Work clothes are the order of the day -- there will
be time for dress up when the evening rolls around.
Emotions: Good ~ Money: Fair ~ Wellness: Good
Power Numbers: 13, 47, 48, 11, 42, 3.
Taurus (Apr 19 - May 20) Release from restrictive
circumstances and pressures is the main issue at this
time with regards to your love life. Obligations and
responsibilities are not so demanding now, and you are
able to enjoy a greater level of freedom in your daily
life. Emotions: Good ~ Money: Fair ~ Wellness: Fair
Power Numbers: 20, 40, 38, 21, 24, 45.
Capricorn (Dec 21 - Jan 19) You are very clear and
perceptive now. It’s a good time to make a decision
or come to an agreement, negotiate, exchange
your views with others, present your case. If you
are in a profession dealing with words, ideas, or
communication, this is a very productive time for you.
Emotions: Good ~ Money: Good ~ Wellness: Fair
Power Numbers: 13, 31, 17, 9Power Numbers: 46,
28, 4, 13, 17, 39.
Aries (Mar 21 - Apr 19) A good time for starting
off on a fresh footing. Make sure you’re not
demanding too much of yourself in the long run,
you will not always have this much drive, and
you don’t want to burn out because you can’t
keep up with yourself. A good plan is determined
by whether you can keep it going on an off day.
Emotions: Fair ~ Money: Fair ~ Wellness: Good
Power Numbers: 9, 17, 46, 16, 20, 36.
Aquarius (Jan 20 - Feb 18) This is an excellent
time to eliminate whatever is unnecessary and
outworn in your life especially if it’s an unhealthy
relationship which keeps you from going after
what you really want in life. You are also more
perceptive than usual. You can see other people’s
true colors more clearly and you may discover
a secret or the hidden aspect of some situation.

Sagittarius (Nov 23 - Dec 21) You are optimistic,
hopeful, and forward looking at this time. You can

points of view of that special person in your life.
