CAPTAIN JAMES BERWICK FINLAY
MEMORIAL TROPHY
Presented to the Quincy Yacht Club in 1948 by Albert W. Finlay, his father, for competition during Quincy Bay Race Week. This
beautiful trophy, presented in loving memory of a son who, during his lifetime, did much to advance the sport of yachting on
Massachusetts Bay, is awarded annually to the yacht or yachtsman considered to have the most outstanding record or to have
performed some single act of sportsmanship during race week. A suitably engraved keeper trophy will be awarded to the
winner for his/her permanent possession. 2014 Debbie Stewart.
PRESIDENTS TROPHY
This beautiful trophy has been presented by Q.B.R.W.A. for the past nine years. Presented to the Blue Fleet winner, this trophy
rewards exemplary competitive spirit demonstrated during the Quincy Bay Race Week Regatta. 2016 winner, Rebecca Zellin,
Winthrop Yacht Club
QUINCY CREDIT UNION TROPHY
Presented each year since 2010 to the Quincy Bay Race Week Association by Quincy Credit Union to demonstrate their great and
cooperative interest in Quincy Bay Race Week and to aid in the stimulation of racing interest among the junior class. This
beautiful trophy is awarded annually to the overall winning skipper in the White Turnabout Class and a suitably engraved
keeper trophy will become his/her permanent possession. 2016 winner, Jimmy Lippert, Town River Yacht Club
COMMODORE CHARLES R. WING MEMORIAL TROPHY
Presented to Quincy Bay Race Week Association in 1981 by his friends and family as a perpetual trophy to be awarded annually to the winner of the Red Fleet on Town River Day. 2016 winner, Helena Lynch, South Shore Yacht Club
REYNOLDS MEMORIAL TROPHY
A perpetual trophy presented to the Quincy Bay Race Week Association i n 1966 by the family of John Reynolds, an ardent
supporter of and skipper in the Day Sailor Class until his untimely death in 1965. This beautiful trophy is to be awarded to
the Race Week winner in the Hustler Class. A suitably engraved keeper trophy is to be awarded annually to the winner for
his/her permanent possession. 2008 winner, Russell Chase.
COMMODORE ISADORE BROMFIELD TROPHY
This trophy was presented in 1976 to the Quincy Bay Race Week Association by the Metropolitan Yacht Club. This trophy
is to be awarded annually to the race week 210 winner accoding to the deed of the gift. The winner is to be presented a suitably engraved keeper trophy for his/her permanent possession. 2008 winner, Kevin Riley.
LIBERTY BAY CREDIT UNION TROPHY
A new trophy in 2013 presented by Liberty Bay Credit Union representing their continued support of Quincy Bay Race

SHIRLEY SWAN MEMORIAL TROPHY
This trophy was presented in 1993 by the Quincy Bay Race Week Association in memory of Shirley Swan. Shirley was an
active member of the Inside Line Race Committee and was particularly fond of the young, first year skippers. This perpetual
trophy is presented to the overall highest placing, first year Turnabout Class skipper in the Red Fleet. The winner is to be
presented a suitably engraved keeper trophy for his/her permanent possession. 2016 winner, Helena Lynch, South Shore
Yacht Club
Walter Marston Memorial Trophy
Given in honor of P.C. Walter Marston of Wessagussett Yacht Club, he was a devoted sailor and supporter of Quincy Bay
Race Week. This trophy is given annually to the winner of the Outside Laser Fleet on Wessagussett Day. 2016 winner,
Meghan Freel, Town River Yacht Club
CITY OF BOSTON BERMUDA CUP
This beautiful and historic silver punch bowl has been in the custody of the Quincy Yacht Club for over 50 years. It was
presented by the City of Boston around 1905 for a yacht race from Boston to Bermuda. This race was never held, and in
1911, the City again put the cup up for an ocean race to be held on Labor Day 1911 to become the permanent possession of
the winner. That race was won by Hollis Burgess, a Q.Y.C. member in his sloop, Marie L.
Mr. Burgess generously made Quincy Yacht Club trustee of the cup which was to be placed in annual competition as a perpetual trophy. In 1968, the Q.Y.C. presented the trophy to the Q.B.R.W.A. for race week competition. This beautiful and
valuable trophy has been given to theThunderbird overall. 2011 winner, Steve Kavanagh, Savin Hill Yacht Club.
HENDRY TROPHY
Fifty years separates Frank Hendry, QBRWA Past President 1940, and his son Richard Hendry, QBRWA Past President
1990. Many changes occurred within that time span: however, their mutual love for the sport of sailing never did. Both
father and son felt that yacht racing was the greatest pastime one could become involved with. Going beyond participation
in competition, they both have given unselfishly of their time and effort to promote sailing and the QBRWA. The Hendry
Trophy, given in honor of two generations of QBRWA Presidents. This trophy is awarded to the winner of the Club 420.
