Offering a backpack snare and bell kit pairing option, the percussion kits are built to be modular and lightweight. Given the heaviness of many student percussion kits on the
market today, the Yamaha kits let the student carry to class only what he or she needs for rehearsal and/or performance.

Chrome is available upon request for all marching MTS and SFZ snare drums. An extra charge does apply and must be approved by Yamaha prior to order. A 6-8 month lead

The 8200 Series Field-Corps Marching Toms feature: Yamaha exclusive Air-Seal System™ shell construction and deep cut 6-ply birch shells for enhanced mid-range tone. The 6"
tom has 8-ply birch shell without reinforcement ring. The 8200 Series also features a lightweight aluminum arch shape lug casing that allows the shell to vibrate more freely and
is 12% stronger and 50% lighter. The toms are .5 lbs. to 1.4 lbs. pounds lighter than the previous model and include a 2.3mm steel DynaHoop™ with unique profile to
protect the bearing edge, 5.4mm tension rods for reliable tuning without extra weight and an aluminum reinforcement ring just below the bearing edge to maintain shell integrity

deep resonant tones with solid punchy attack. The 8200 Series also features a lightweight aluminum arch shape lug casing that allows the shell to vibrate more freely and is 50%
stronger and 26% lighter. The bass drums are .5 lbs to 1.75 lbs pounds lighter than the previous model. Ten ply birch hoops have a rounded outside edge for pinpoint tension in
conjunction with a revamped claw. A wide-body claw offers greater tuning stability and reduces hoop damage with high tension tuning. All drums also include 5.4mm tension rods
for reliable tuning without extra weight and REMO Smooth White Ambassador bass drumheads. All drums come internally pre-muffled with Yamaha Sound Impact Strips™.

GRaDUaTED TonE BaRS Vibe, marimba, and xylophone bars whose
widths gradually increase from the higher register to the lower register.
aCoUSTaLon Synthetic bar material used in the manufacturing of marimbas
and xylophones. Made of cross woven layers of fiberglass and plastic.
Combined with Sonic Tone Holes™, it produces a sound similar to rosewood,
but with the durability and affordability of synthetic.
HiGH PRoFiLE RiM A batter snare drum hoop with a greater than normal
distance between the hoop’s eyelets and the top of the hoop. It protects the
bearing edge from inadvertent rim shots as the head stretches.
aCoUSTaLon-LiTE A reduced version of Acoustalon utilizing three sonic
tone holes. The color is impregnated directly into the fiberglass material.
aiR-SEaL SySTEM A system of sealing wood plies equally around the
shell using pressurized air as opposed to traditional “C” clamp methods.
kEVLaR A very light yet strong, non-stretch, woven material used in
drumheads by competitive drum lines. It provides great articulation, but
may cause damage to drums not designed to use Kevlar heads.

DiE CaST RiM Aluminum alloy rim made in a die cast mold to remain

fast decay at all dynamic levels. Medium weight, die-cast design maintains
proper tuning at any tension; medium pitch creates a clear, powerful sound.
PaC (Pedal Adjustment Clutch) Located above the foot pedal; allows pedal
tensions to be adjusted to an even feel within a timpani set. It does not affect
the pedal-to-head tension ratio; rather, it seizes the spider mechanism.
RoSEWooD High quality wood from Central America, primarily Honduras,

DynaHooP RiM Rounded profile steel rim capable of withstanding high tension.
FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) Synthetic material exclusive to Yamaha.
It is used to make durable, lightweight products such as timpani bowls,
Acoustalon tone bars and Acoustalon-Lite tone bars.
SoniC TonE HoLE Design using holes which run horizontally through
Acoustalon bars simulating air pockets that rosewood has naturally. They
produce a sound which closely resembles rosewood, but with less ring
than solid synthetic bars.
ExTEnDED SnaRES Refers to snares that extend past the diameter
of the drum.
SPiDER MECHaniSM The assembly consisting of tension rods, tuning
rods, and spider nut which controls the movement of the timpani head when
the pedal is moved.
FiBERSkyn A medium weight, synthetic head made by Remo.
The laminated film has a feel and sound similar to calfskin.
