This includes California, where even the
optimistic scenarios predict extraordinary
growth. The state will add an additional 7
to 11 million people in the next 18 years,

of California. Currently, however, we are
putting that growth into our suburban
fringes, making all our metropolitan areas
resemble Los Angeles.
