P rocordia is one of Sweden’s largest food companies, with six production facilities, ten brands, 1000 employees, 1200 products and an annual turnover of 486 million dollars (2010). We are part of Orkla, a Norwegian corporation listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. We live by the motto “the better the ingredients, the better the food”, and as a company we are deeply rooted in Swedish culinary tradition. We have long been Sweden’s market leader in pickled vegetables, potato and tomato products, snack foods, frozen dishes, fruit drinks and berry soups, and of course Swedish jams. Our biggest brand is Felix, through which we handle the export marketing of our jams. Pure foods that respect people and the environment. I n all that we do, Procordia aims to produce foods that are pure in every way. We place exacting demands on our suppliers and on the working conditions of the berry pickers. Felix - innovation and a good Swedish tradition. F elix is our brand for exported jams, and is already the market leader in lingonberry jam in the U.S.A. The jams’ obvious Scandinavian style and taste make them attractive to gourmets who prefer natural foods. In Sweden, Felix is as familiar as Volvo, IKEA and Swedish meatballs. Meatballs served with Felix Lingonberry Jam are a real classic. 97% of Swedes are familiar with Felix and most of them buy Felix products every week. The faith that Swedish people have in the quality of Felix products runs deep. Several of the Felix products that were introduced fifty to seventy years ago, such as pickles, mashed potato mix and tomato ketchup, still hold over 50% of the Swedish market in spite of decades of stiff competition from American brands. Felix has even developed a long list of successful modern products, such as its frozen dinners with both Swedish and international flavors. Tradition and innovation are words Felix lives by. Felix’s main office lies in the small town of Eslöv in Sweden’s southernmost region, Scania. The town is predominantly surrounded by farms and fields, with forests just a few miles away. Pure, high-quality jams - without preservatives. S wedes are used to picking their own mushrooms and berries in the woods, so the level of excellence required for a jam to succeed in the Swedish market is very high. This is why Felix jams contain a lot of berries, around 50%, and they are always of the highest quality. The ingredients are everything. Fine berries, pure sugar and fresh water are what make Felix Jam worthy of its name. Our jam contains no preservatives. We use only two additives, both of which appear naturally in various fruits and berries. Pectin (E440) gives the jam the right consistency and appears naturally in apple and citrus peel. Citric acid (E330) is a sourness regulator which appears naturally in citrus fruit. The Felix factory in Eslöv, 1963. Our hand-picked delicacies.
