SEYDRihK .
Cedric's origin is Welsh, and its use, English
and French. The name is of the meaning 'pattern of
generosity; amiable'. The name could be derived from Cedrych (Welsh), itself
of the elements ced and drych. It could also be from
Cerdic (Old English) meaning 'amiable', which is related
to the Welsh name Caradoc and was borne by the 6thcentury King Cerdic of Wessex, the legendary founder of
the kingdom.
A true
love story
Mum and Dad
LETTER FROM HEAVEN
When tomorrow starts without me
and I'm not here to see
If the sun should rise and find your
eyes filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
the way you did today
While thinking of the the many things
we didn't get to say
I know how much you love me
as much as I love you
And each time you think of me
I know you will miss me too.
When tomorrow starts without me
don't think we're far apart
for every time you think of me
I am right there in your heart.
My dad is known by many different names. My mum calls him Shawly, we call him dad,
then there’s granddad, great granddad or Ghandi as Ella likes to call him Sean, Abul, Mr
C to name but a few. But I call him Cedric. This is my pet name for him since I was a child
and we always laugh at it.
My mum and dad are just the best parents. You look at them though and think they are
chalk and cheese but they’re far from that. They have a bond that has lasted over 55
years. When you walk in home and they haven’t heard you, you can hear them laughing
away in the conservatory about something only they would find funny. My mum will
make naughty jokes and my dad will stay “stop it Bet” but really he will be laughing.
Together they are the paper and pen which has made the story of the Choudhurys
starting with myself and brother and sister and then 7 beautiful grandchildren and one
gorgeous great granddaughter and my dad is so proud of that…. And of course there are
so many extended family.
There are so many things to say about my lovely dad, but it would take me 51 years to
tell you them all because that’s how long I have had him. My whole life but it still doesn’t
seem long enough. I would give anything for an extra day, but he’s tired and needs to
leave this earth but he will always be present around us.
Wherever my dad goes he’s loved. He can go down the road for just five minutes but
not return for several hours as he’s just talking to everyone. He’s charismatic and
flirty, friendly and loveable, always a gentleman smelling lovely and dressing well. No
one ever has a bad word to say about him. In Ireland he is an honorary Irish man, in
our Catholic religion many years ago our priest referred to him as honorary Catholic
but above all he is an honorable man, proud and humble, a loving family man and my
Cedric. Four months ago he walked me down the aisle, stopping for pictures along the
way – so typical of him and gave a beautiful speech. He made us laugh and cry. I will
treasure those memories in my heart. I will miss you every second of my life and love
you with every breath I take. God bless you my wonderful daddy. I know you are looking
down on us now from heaven with your beautiful soul.
I love you so much.
Dad was an incredible man. If there was a film that would be best to describe him it would be
David and Goliath …He may have been David In Stature but he was a Goliath in being an incredible
Husband, special Father and amazing Friend to so many people all over the world.
Dad would walk into any room and light it up with his incredible personality on any occasion. His
ability to make people laugh with his constant chat became legendary to family and friends ….my
friends absolutely loved his company and I think they actually preferred his to mine !!
Today is a celebration of his life …. A life where he unselfishly put everyone before himself.
When Dad came to this country he sought a fresh start and new life. Despite all hostilities he married
my mum as their love for each other conquered all of this.
Together they gave Suzanne, Sharon and myself an incredible childhood. Dad worked so hard
sometime 3 different jobs to literally to make sure that we would have everything we needed for a
happy childhood.
Dad taught me so much:
Always follow your heart believe in yourself and hold you head with pride.
Dad there won’t be one day that I won’t think about you and I know you will always be there to look
over our family especially Mum.
Dad,
May you rest in peace
Amen
