Sencillo Platinum Tasting Notes
Sencillo is a Spanish word, pronounced "sen-see-yo," and it means simple. Simple pleasure is the inspiration behind Sencillo
cigars.
With the Sencillo cigar, Keith K. Park, the same man who created the elegant Prometheus line of cigar accessories and
critically acclaimed God of Fire and Angelenos cigars, presents a great everyday smoke. Produced in Danli, Hondura, the
Sencillo Platinum blend uses Habano de Jamastran tobacco for the wrapper, filler, and binder, with Piloto Cubano tobacco
added to the filler to balance out the flavor. The Sencillo is a puro, made entirely from tobacco grown in Honduras.
All of the Sencillo Platinum cigars exude a rich, spicy flavor; notes of allspice, cinnamon, and even a touch of cayenne
dance across the tongue. A slightly sweet undertone tames the spicy taste. The medium-to-full bodied tobacco has the
refined, leathery taste that reveals careful fermentation and aging.
Although these flavor notes carry through all of the six Sencillo Platinum sizes, each one offers a subtly different taste.
Double Robusto (52 x 5 3/4, MSRP $7.95): The Double Robusto tames the Robusto's taste just slightly - it's a bit lighter, a bit
mellower, and smokes a bit cooler. The spicy zest is there, but it's balanced against a stronger taste of leather, and subtle
earthy flavors start to enter.
Short Churchill (48 x 6 1/4, MSRP $8.50): The longest in the Sencillo line, this cigar has a big, mouth-filling taste and delivers
an extremely smooth smoking experience. The flavors of spice are subtle, yet still unmistakable.
Piramide (54 x 6 1/8, MSRP $8.95): The elegant Pirámide is the most visually impressive of all the Sencillos, and delivers the
most intense aroma as well. The smooth, satisfying taste mirrors that of the Toro, with just a bit more of the spicy kick of the
Robusto and Double Robusto

Creating a blend that is both intensely flavorful and easy to smoke has always been a challenge. Yet this
character is exactly what the Sencillo brand has always been striving to embody. For the last two years, we
made a number of different blends and sampled them. Refined them. Then sampled again. This spring, we
realize that we have something very special, which we would like to share with our fellow cigar lovers.
We are proud to present our 2013 Limited Release of the Sencillo Black Piramide 60 No. 5 and the Sencillo
Platinum Gran Toro 56, which have our inimitable blend of full body and smoothness. Yet both have an
unmistakable identity all their own. The Piramide 60 No. 5 is made in Esteli, Nicaragua, from tobaccos grown
in the surrounding area. The Gran Toro 56 is made in Danli, Honduras, from tobaccos local to that region.
Even though only 80 miles separate the two towns, the soils are substantially different—and so is the tobacco.
We recommend you try both of these new takes on Sencillo’s masterful blends, for a “tour de taste” of Central
America’s finest flavors.

The Gran Toro 56 is even more aromatic than the Piramide 60 No. 5, rich in the lush, balmy aromas of equatorial
lands. Although the Gran Toro 56 never bites the palate, its flavor is more robust, with the hearty, savory taste
Brazilian churrasco barbecue. It maintains this intense flavor almost to the end, where it mellows out a little for
a calm, relaxed finish. It almost goes without saying that the Gran Toro 56 perfectly complements grilled meats
and bold wines like Spanish Tempranillos and Italian Barolos—but we like it just as much with a nice cup of
coffee in the morning.

The outstanding quality and affordable price of Sencillo Platinum cigars have won them thousands of fans
since they were introduced in March 2010. The new Sencillo Black created by Keith K. Park, the man behind
God of Fire and Angelenos cigars and Prometheus accessories, is sure to win the brand even more acclaim.
Sencillo Black is a new twist on the Sencillo theme. Like Sencillo Platinum produced (the first release of the
Sencillo brand), it’s a truly extraordinary cigar that is smooth enough and inexpensive enough to smoke every
day. Yet Sencillo Black has a distinctive flavor all its own. If Sencillo Platinum is the cabernet of the line, Sencillo
Black is the pinot noir.
Sencillo Black is made in Esteli, Nicaragua, using five different tobaccos. The filler is blended from two Cubanseed tobaccos grown in Nicaragua and Honduras-Ligero Habano Jalapa (Nicaragua) and Ligero Habano
Jamastran (Honduras)-as well as Viso San Andres tobacco grown in Mexico. The Habano Colorado wrapper
and Habano Jalapa binder are also Cuban-seed, Nicaraguan-grown leaves. The five different tobaccos blend
perfectly to give Sencillo Black a consistent yet complex flavor.
All five sizes of the Sencillo Black have a similarly smooth character, but each one emphasizes different
aspects of the flavor profile-and each one provides a unique smoking experience. Sample them all to find
your favorite, or simply keep a stock of each one on hand to suit any setting.

Robusto (50 x 5 1/4, MSRP $6.95): Although the aptly named Robusto has the most robust flavor of all the
Sencillo Black cigars, the flavor is so smooth you can still smoke them all day long. Its taste packs the most
punch of all the Sencillo Black sizes, and it is the only one that carries hints of pepper and allspice. Those who
prefer a medium-to-heavy taste will likely prefer the Robusto.
Double Robusto (52 x 5 3/4, MSRP $7.95): The Double Robusto has the purest tobacco taste of the different
Sencillo Black cigars.The smooth, sophisticated, leathery flavor of its perfectly aged Habano Colorado wrapper
predominates. Its long finish lingers on the palate, intensifying the flavor and making the Double Robusto the
ideal choice for smokers who appreciate classic tastes.
Short Churchill (48 x 6 1/4, MSRP $8.50): The longer sizes of Sencillo Black have a delectable, subtly sweet
taste-a character that is most pronounced in the Short Churchill, which suggests the irresistible flavor of
perfectly browned cornbread. Although it smokes a bit hotter than the larger Piramide and Gigante, it is
paradoxically smoother. It’s hard to resist lighting a second one immediately after the first is finished.
Piramide (54 x 6 3/8, MSRP $8.95): The elegant Piramide has the most exotic flavor in the Sencillo Black line,
with a slight citrusy tang and undertones of sugar and vanilla-almost like a wedding cake. All these flavors
dance atop the solid, leathery flavor of the Piramide’s perfectly fermented Nicaraguan, Honduran and Mexican
tobaccos.
Gigante (60 x 6, MSRP $8.95): The biggest and mildest of the five sizes of Sencillo Black cigars, the Gigante
presents an incomparable combination of smooth taste and full flavor. Its subtly savory, mildly sweet taste is
mellow but full from first light to the last inch. Those who love large, flavorful cigars are sure to find the Gigante
one of their all-time-favorite smokes.

The Piramide 60 No. 5 catches your nose with a deep, earthen aroma evocative of tropical forests and coffee
plantations. Like other Sencillos, it is hearty and full-bodied yet suave on the palate. As the Piramide 60 No. 5
enters its middle act, the complexity increases, with a hint of the rich pepper-and-chocolate notes of fine molé.
The finish is remarkably smooth, a decrescendo only a virtuoso cigar blender could execute. Although the
Piramide 60 No. 5 goes with practically any food or beverage you might choose, we particularly enjoy it with
a cup of rich coffee or expresso.
