Perhaps it is not an altruistic endeavor, but we are also not going to feed you with a loaded mission statement about how we are planning on saving the world one bike at a time. We simply design and build suspension mountain bikes that are meant to be ridden hard, purely because we prefer riding our bikes over fixing them. The way we see it, a suspension mountain bike should be able to ride through the mud without destroying the pivot bearings, it should be able to effortlessly ride on the side of a rut and then not chatter over a series of roots down the trail, it should inspire confidence with speed and encourage you to pedal up that next climb without a second thought, and it should have a company behind it that is willing to back up every claim with excellent customer service when you need it most. Performing and Enduring is what every Turner suspension mountain bike was born to do. Standard bearings are designed with high-speed rotation in mind (skateboard wheels, drill motors etc.) The journal bearing we use has a purpose of holding a very tight tolerance along with carrying a load much greater than that produced by a bicycle frame, these two attributes we feel are essential to a great riding bike. The rear of our frames often gets praise for how stiff it is laterally and how well it tracks through the roots, ruts, and rocks encountered on a mountain bike. Because a bearing found in a bike pivot never makes a full rotation, you rely on two maybe three of the balls in the cartridge to carry the entire load and pressures generated by the rider. Over time this is what creates that "crunchy" feel or "squeaky" sounds people often comment about. Standard bearings are also made of steel, steel rusts after being exposed to water, grit and grime, again found in our everyday riding. So long lasting, tight tolerance and incredible load bearing capabilities are why we have chosen to stick with journal bearings. - 5IF SyTUem Com QPOFOUT 1 ] Hex-Loc Link 6 ] Zerk Fitting 1 ] The Hex-Loc Pivot System is designed to provide the dw-link / journal bearing fusion with unsurpassed structural superiority: Stronger, Stiffer & Smarter. 2 ] The Kevlar Composite Journal Bearings we use can hardly be compaired to their brass relatives. More durable, less friction & tighter tolerances make this new material transcend industry standards for bearing proficiency. 4 ] O-Ring Seal 2 ] Journal Bearing 3 ] The Pivot Shaft is spiral grooved to aide in the distribution of lubricating grease throughout the entire bearing system, while the hard anodized alloy surface is extremely durable and will not corrode in even the harshest enviroments. 3 ] Pivot Shaft 4] The Quad-Wall O-Ring Seal is designed with a square contour that in conjunction with the machined frame/bearing interface creates a tight seal to keep the grease in and the dirt & grime out. 5 ] Frame 5] Every frame is meticulousy designed, machined, and prep’d to interface with the quad-wall o-ring and journal bearings to make a hardwearing and precise device. 6 ] Zerk Fitting 1 ] Hex-Loc Link 6 ] The threaded Zerk grease lubrication fittings can be found at every pivot location. The Zerk fittings allow for easy maintenence and uncompromised performance. PoT J UJPO 4FOTJU Jve A OUJ4RVBU Newton’s 3rd law states that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. When a vehicle accelerates, the reaction is that its mass is transferred rearward. dw-link’s patented position sensitive anti-squat perfectly balances this rearward mass transfer, increasing efficiency, traction, and bump sensitivity, and eliminating pedal feedback. W IFFl 3BU e Each dw-link frame is engineered for an optimum wheel rate and to work for a specific use with a specific spring and vdamper. Unlike other suspension systems, dw-link’s does not rely on pedaling platform type dampers, giving the best bump absorption and traction of any suspension available today. Advanced riders use these traits to pump terrain in the trail and add momentum . #S BLiOH SUBCJMJU Z The dw-link suspension projects its instant center to an ideal location, achieving a balance of traction and stability under hard braking that is unmatched by other suspensions . LFBT U 1FEBl FFFECBDL Perception of pedal feedback on a bicycle is a manifes- tation of rapid chainstay length change and gearing effects. dw-link uses a smooth and positive chainstay lengthening effect to offset negative gearing effects. This results in a smooth ride with imperceptible pedal feedback over the entire gear range . AmBzi OH5 SBDUJ PO As the dw-link suspension reacts to obstacles, its position sensitive axle path intelligently changes to meet the demands of the trail. In the beginning of the travel, its rearward profile gives incredible small bump absorption and traction on theclimbs. In the middle of the travel, the dw-link axle path works with the front suspension to provide a balanced feel for amazing cornering confidence and jumping ability. The end of the travel provides an increase in compression damping for bottomless suspension feel and big hit absorption . SU SVDUVSBl 4VQFSJoSJU Z dw-link uses short, stiff links, and a triangulated rear swingarm. This unique layout aligns suspension forces in the most efficient manner possible to enable frame designs with industry leading strength-to-weight ratios and stiffness. This structural advantage lets dw-link riders put down power more efficiently and track straight in the bumps where others veer off course .
