Past, Present, and Future
12th Annual Live Auction A Message from Our Pastor and Principal Welcome to 12th Annual St. Francis School Auction celebrating the Past, Present, & Future. As we embark on another year together, we are both humbled and energized because we know what our community can accomplish when we come together in God’s work. St. Francis School was founded on the principle of Cura Personalis, giving equal attention and care to the development of our faith, spirit, heart, mind, and abilities. Together we fulfill our mission of spiritual, moral, and academic excellence under the patronage of St. Francis of Assisi. What does this mean to your children? You’ll hear tonight how your children feel St. Francis teaches them about their faith, helps them deepen and grow in their faith, and live life with their faith as their guide. Past, Present, and Future As we continue this journey, we are reminded that it is only through your generosity that St. Francis School is possible and will continue in the strong traditions that make our students responsible, participating citizens with a core set of Catholic values. We begin our 12th auction full of anticipation and excitement for what our future holds and celebrate all that we have accomplished. We are thankful for all who have made this magnificent evening possible. O Divine Master, Grant that I may not so much seek To be consoled, as to console; To be understood, as to understand; To be loved as to love. In the past ten years the school has grown and flourished, steadily expanding programs and facilities. The Parish provides continuing support for tuition assistance, facility maintenance, and operating capital for the school. Two years ago, the Special Appeal created the seed money to establish the St. Francis Catholic Education Endowment Fund. Since then, individuals, firms and other entities have continued to contribute additional funds, along with a $15,000 matching grant from the Joe Weston Foundation. We believe that all families who desire a Catholic education for their children should receive one. During the 2014-2015 school year, 19% of students received a combined total of $26,500 in need-based financial aid. Based on need assessed by FACTS, families at St. Francis qualified for a total of $49,825 in financial assistance. Currently, we are able to meet 53% of the identified need. Our goal in the future is to be able to provide 100% of funding for financial need. To that end, the Endowment Board has organized an Inaugural Endowment Brunch. We invite you to please join us in continuing to build for the future on April 22nd for a special Mass followed by brunch. Silent auction categories will close in stages both prior to and following the Live Auction. An announcement will be made before each closing. After closing is announced, please vacate the area, so volunteers can prepare items for check out. A bid sheet will accompany each item. The bidder is to write their bidder number on the next available line on the bid sheet. Bidding on the “Guaranteed Purchase” line on the bid sheet takes the item out of the bidding and secures your purchase. All services, trips, gift certificates, parties and such must be used within one year of the auction, unless otherwise noted, and are subject to availability. Taxes, tips, beverages are generally not included in restaurant certificates unless otherwise specified. All items are sold “as is” with no warranties, expressed or implied. Neither St. Francis School nor the donor of the property or services is responsible for any personal injury or damages to property that may result from the utilization of the property or services sold. A minimum bid amount will be clearly listed for each item. If the minimum bid and/or raise offered are not sufficient, the auction bid will be disqualified. Bids entered after the announced closing of the category will be disallowed. A stamp will identify the highest legal bid and will constitute the winning bid. Bidding for items in the Live Auction will begin following the dinner service. In the event of any dispute, the auctioneer will determine the successful bidder. The auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid that he believes is not commensurate with the value of the item being offered. Bids shall be placed on an item by raising your bidder card. Spotters will assist the auctioneer in identifying bids. The auctioneer will announce the winning bid and bidder number for each item. Acceptance of the high bid becomes a binding obligation upon the bidder to make payment in full for that item by the end of the evening.
