E To bid, hold up your bid card number (located on the back of the program) for the auctioneer to see. E If you are the highest bidder, at the conclusion of the auction, please go to the cashier, pay for your item, and claim your item or gift certificate by showing your receipt to the Live Auction personnel. E In the event of a tie bid, the Auctioneer will determine the high bidder. E There will be no exchanges or refunds. Tommy Moorehead Painting Tommy Moorehead is artist in residence and director of Heritage Hall Museum in Talladega, AL. Mr. Moorehead has had one-man shows and participated in group exhibitions literally all over Alabama. This painting is based on a photograph that Mr. Moorehead took back in the 60's. The dwelling was the home of a family - a man and his wife and a litter of wild, crazy boys, some of whom went to school with the artist. The tree on the right is a china berry tree - an old southern symbol to Mr. Moorehead. This painting represents a disappearing place and time. Honorary Captain of the Football Team GO FALCONS! Your child can be an honorary football captain for one varsity football game during the 2011 football season. Ben Shute Painting This matted and framed watercolor painting,”Snowy Farm with Red Barn,” is one of a series of “snow paintings” by the late artist, Ben Shute (1905-1986). Since it was one of the last in the series, it is considered to be a rare piece of art. It is signed by the artist and dated 1979. A native of Wisconsin, Shute founded the Atlanta College of Art and taught there for fifty two years. He was a prolific artist, painting during his breaks from teaching, traveling, and exhibiting. Shute is well known for his exquisite watercolors and beautiful drawings in pencil, pen and ink, or pastels. The third grade classes transformed this drop leaf table into a clever game table, complete with checker board. Each student painted his or her self portrait on a game piece to be used in playing checkers. This is a fun and memorable piece of furniture to have for your child. Cox led the Braves to a World Series Championship in 1995 and retired after the 2010 season. Also included with the jersey is a game program from Cox’s last regular season game on October 3, 2010. The package includes an old, double folding bench displaying all of the “Sixth Grade Stars,” a popcorn bowl, and a photo album. The bench also comes with seat cushions and slip covers for the bench backs. Sixth Grade Opening Bid: $150.00 36. Let’s Wine and Dine Relish this opportunity to have a wine tasting and a four course meal cooked by Dave Garfrerick, owner of Garfrerick’s restaurant. Donoh-OPOLY The seventh and eighth grade classes (with the help of Lisa Huckaby) in the Middle School designed a special Donoho version of the classic Monopoly game for this table and two chairs. The streets and properties that you can buy and sell on the game include Love Shack, Hannah Heights, Woodfin Waterfront, Kelseywood, Garrett’s Garage, and Madison Avenue. Another interesting feature of the game is that you collect $200 every time you pass the Herbert Cunningham Middle School, but you lose a turn if you end up in Hurd’s House of Horrors. This one-of-a-kind property trading game table and chairs are destined to be a hot item to own. Seventh and Eighth Grade Opening Bid: $150.00 38.
