The Live Auction will begin no later than 8:00 p.m. and will continue until
all items are sold.

To bid, hold up your bid card number (located on the back of the program)
for the auctioneer to see.

If you are the highest bidder, at the conclusion of the auction, please go to the
cashier, pay for your item, and claim your item or gift certificate by showing
your receipt to the Live Auction personnel.
E
In the event of a tie bid, the Auctioneer will determine the high bidder.
E
There will be no exchanges or refunds. All sales are final and “as is.”
E
Arrangements for payment must be made immediately following the end of
the Live Auction. Payment may be made by cash, check, MasterCard, or Visa
Payment in full is expected on the night of the auction, January 28, 2011.

Values set forth for items being auctioned are estimates only and are not
warranted for tax or other purposes.

Unless otherwise specified, all auction items and services must be used no later
than January 28, 2012, and at a mutually agreeable time. Arrangement for
pick-up must be made at the expense of the purchaser the night of the auction.

8. Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Toy Chest
That all time favorite book, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, is the theme for this charming toy chest. Painted to match
the colors and illustrations of the book, the chest is also decoupaged with pictures of the PreK4 class members as they
use their bodies to spell out the letters of the alphabet. This piece of furniture will be a real treasure to take home.

12. Tommy Moorehead Painting
Tommy Moorehead is artist in residence and director of Heritage Hall Museum in Talladega, AL. Mr. Moorehead
has had one-man shows and participated in group exhibitions literally all over Alabama. This painting is based on
a photograph that Mr. Moorehead took back in the 60's. The dwelling was the home of a family - a man and his
wife and a litter of wild, crazy boys, some of whom went to school with the artist. The tree on the right is a china
berry tree - an old southern symbol to Mr. Moorehead. This painting represents a disappearing place and time.

17. Fabulous Faces Bedside Tables
These light green bedside or end tables were decorated by the students in the first grade classes. Each student painted a
self portrait on one of the tables and signed his or her creation. What extraordinary pieces to cherish as the years go by!

19. Funded Item –Bleachers for Lower School Gym
The Lower School gymnasium needs bleachers for seating so the gym can be utilized to host two sporting events at the
same time on the school campus. Plans are to purchase three sets of 21’ aluminum movable bleachers. The bleachers
cost $1600 per set for a total of $4800.
20. End of School Swim Bash
Bring your child and his or her entire class on the last day of school for a fun afternoon of swimming and pizza at
the home of Julia and Frank Segars in Anniston’s Edgefield Farm. Guaranteed to be tons of fun for everyone! Mellow

21. Starry Night Floor Mat
It’s a floor mat or a wall hanging featuring a nighttime cityscape that can be used to adorn the floor or wall in your
child’s bedroom or playroom. The stars and bright colors of the mat highlight the self portraits (signed by the artists)
the second graders painted in each window of the city’s buildings.

22. Honorary Captain of the Football Team
GO FALCONS! Your child can be an honorary football captain for one varsity football game during the 2011 football

24. Ben Shute Painting
This matted and framed watercolor painting,”Snowy Farm with Red Barn,” is one of a series of “snow paintings” by
the late artist, Ben Shute (1905-1986). Since it was one of the last in the series, it is considered to be a rare piece of
art. It is signed by the artist and dated 1979. A native of Wisconsin, Shute founded the Atlanta College of Art and
taught there for fifty two years. He was a prolific artist, painting during his breaks from teaching, traveling, and
exhibiting. Shute is well known for his exquisite watercolors and beautiful drawings in pencil, pen and ink, or pastels.

25. Checkers Anyone?
The third grade classes transformed this drop leaf table into a clever game table, complete with checker board. Each
student painted his or her self portrait on a game piece to be used in playing checkers. This is a fun and memorable

31. Atlanta Braves - Bobby Cox Jersey
Become the proud owner of a team-issued 2005 home Atlanta Braves game jersey worn by retired manager Bobby
Cox. Cox owns the all-time record of consecutive division championships (fourteen straight) and ranks fourth in
all-time managerial wins. Cox led the Braves to a World Series Championship in 1995 and retired after the 2010
season. Also included with the jersey is a game program from Cox’s last regular season game on October 3, 2010.

35 The Sixth Grade Stars
The sixth grade class went all out to prepare this ensemble of items to help commemorate their last year at the Lower
School. The package includes an old, double folding bench displaying all of the “Sixth Grade Stars,” a popcorn bowl,
and a photo album. The bench also comes with seat cushions and slip covers for the bench backs.

36. Let’s Wine and Dine
Relish this opportunity to have a wine tasting and a four course meal cooked by Dave Garfrerick, owner of
Garfrerick’s restaurant. The event will be held at the historic Buckner home of Tim Garner for 8 people. Must be

37. Donoh-OPOLY
The seventh and eighth grade classes (with the help of Lisa Huckaby) in the Middle School designed a special
Donoho version of the classic Monopoly game for this table and two chairs. The streets and properties that you can
buy and sell on the game include Love Shack, Hannah Heights, Woodfin Waterfront, Kelseywood, Garrett’s Garage,
and Madison Avenue. Another interesting feature of the game is that you collect $200 every time you pass the Herbert
Cunningham Middle School, but you lose a turn if you end up in Hurd’s House of Horrors. This one-of-a-kind
property trading game table and chairs are destined to be a hot item to own.

Your bidding number is on the back of the program. In order to bid on silent auction items, write
your bid number and the amount you wish to bid on the tally sheet provided beside each item. Please
note minimum incremental amount indicated on the tally sheet.

There will be no exchanges or refunds except as noted. All sales are final and “as is”.

In the event of a dispute, the school officials shall act as the final authority and shall determine the
highest bidder. This decision will be final.
E
Bidders will determine if they have won an item by checking their bid number on the verified tally
sheets.
E
Cashiers will be ready to accept payment from successful bidders 30 minutes after the Live Auction
begins. Please check as soon as possible after the announcement has been made to see if you have the
highest bid.

is currently in Texas undergoing treatment for cancer.
Members of the Donoho Beginner and Advanced Bands,

the Swinney family upon their return from Texas.
