sharathon 2010 update
The days of the WTGN Sharathon 2010 are over but we continue to receive new faith
pledges. We praise the Lord for
each pledge and for the support
of all our listeners.
We were especially blessed by
the reports and stories of how
WTGN has been a blessing to so
many people.
It was a special time of sharing
with several local celebrities like
Wayne Dunlap of Transport for
Christ, Chuck Summers, heard
on Northwest Ohio Music Connection, author Raelene Phillips
and our own Linda Crew and
Jon Umphress.
We had the opportunity to
speak to many of our listeners
who received special give-aways
during the Sharathon. One of
our listeners, Ella Blythe, especially encouraged us with her
testimony.
When Sharathon ended, we
had not reached our goal of
$385,000 but we are confident
that God will continue to provide. We received pledges for
63 whole Sharadays, 42 halfday Sharadays, 53 new donors
and 35 web pledges.
We thank everyone who helped
to make our Sharathon 2010 a
success.
Paul Cameron and
Brad Fisk from Sharemedia were
a great help and very encouraging. They kept up the enthusiasm and helped create prize
bundles as incentives for giveaways for our listeners.
Thank you to all the volunteers
who manned the phones—
Deanna Arnett, Freda Bowersock, Janet Case, Jon & Sandy
Doan, Marty Goliver, LaVonne
Hartman, Marilyn Hartman,
Jean Houser, Dave Humphreys,
Gary & Linda Knotts, Owen &
Muriel Moore, Terri Rostorfer,
Stacy Shilling, Ken Skonieczny,
Larry & Marian Sprague and Joy
Jon Umphress & Linda Crew being interviewed.
& Vanessa Warner. We could
not have done this without you.
Most of all, THANK YOU to
everyone who made faith promises during this time. We feel
really blessed to have had such
a successful Sharathon while
realizing that a lot of people are
experiencing hardship.
We
praise God that people continue
to step out in faith to support
WTGN.
As of this printing, our Sharathon
2010 pledge total is $339,056
We are trusting God for the deficit of $45,944. Please continue
to pray for the financial resources to come in and ask God
if He would have you increase
your pledge.

SPECIAL Parties FOR Linda and Jon !!
The WTGN staff had it’s annual Christmas party December 4th. We did not
tell Linda Crew that it was actually a
retirement party for her!
Jim Boedicker, famed singer and guitarist, performed Mississippi Squirrel and I
Am My Own Grandpa, among others.
The WTGN board also awarded Jon
with a beautiful plaque in appreciation
for his 29 years of dedicated service to
WTGN and God. It also recognized his
commitment to local artists by creating
1001 Northwest Ohio Music Connection programs.
We met at Old Barn Out Back and Scott
had her sit in a special place. That was
her first clue that something was amiss.
The Seekers did a GREAT job as they
ministered to us by singing Christmas
songs.
Major Tamayo of the Salvation Army
was our speaker. He talked about his
ministry and experiences.
The WTGN Board gave Linda a plaque
that had a wonderful message - a tribute to all the years she has served the
Lord here at WTGN. Tears of joy and
humility flowed in abundance when
she received her plaque.
Scott played a CD of special messages
from past and present WTGN staff, fam-
Jon and Linda - we all love you so very
much. God bless you abundantly in this
new phase of life.
Linda LOVES her plaque!
ily and friends, as well as recording artist Dallas Holm. Linda was especially
surprised to hear testimonies from her
children. They spoke of how she has
made a difference in their lives for
Christ - a testimony that could be repeated by many, many people in our
listening area.
We will greatly miss Linda’s daily presence at the station but know she won’t
be able to stay away very long.
THE SEEKERS
WTGN also had a going away party for
announcer, Jon Umphress. It was a
great time of sharing with board and
staff members who have ministered
alongside Jon for almost 29 years.
