A message from the Chairman/CEO of the PBR: Dear Friends, What a year we’re having at the PBR! The World Title race is heating up and with the change in the points system; new bull riding superstars are being made each week. Six BFTS events set new attendance records in the first half of the season. The PBR continues to grow by leaps and bounds, making bull riding the most exciting sport on dirt not only in the United States, but also in Canada, Mexico, Australia and Brazil. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas, NV. This October, the top 35 bull riders in the world will compete for a chance to win $1,000,000 and the right to call themself the PBR World Champion. It is the culmination of a 26 stop, year-long journey that starts each year at the "World's Most Famous Arena" Madison Square Garden in New York City. It is amazing where we are as a sport compared to that April day 20 years ago when 20 cowboys met in a motel room to talk about launching a new bull riders association. You have a chance to be a part of the excitement of the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals. Each year the PBR has hosted/supported a variety of charitable activities. The recipient charities have varied throughout the years to allow a deeper reach into the PBR community. This year we will host the PBR Charity Golf Classic at Bear’s Best Las Vegas with Special Olympics Nevada as our beneficiary charity. Special Olympics has provided athletic opportunities to children and adults with intellectual disabilities since the 1960’s. This is the second year that we have worked with Special Olympics Nevada and we are proud to be associated with this great organization. This packet includes information on how you and your company can be part of this fun and rewarding event. We believe in what this charity organizations does. With your support and participation in the Charity Golf Classic, together we can make an impact on the lives of many Special Olympics athletes. We look forward to seeing you in Las Vegas! Now, let’s buckle up and support this great cause! Jim Haworth Chairman & CEO Professional Bull Riders Inc. Core Values Sportsmanship — A commitment to fairness, ethics, respect, and fellowship in competition and in life. “Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt." Volunteerism — A commitment to celebrating and appreciating volunteers, who do good for the benefit of others without seeking personal reward or remuneration. Acceptance — A commitment to openly embrace and welcome all others without regard to ability, race, creed, nationality, religion, age, gender or sexual orientation. Our History The concept for Special Olympics was born in the early 1960s, when Eunice Kennedy Shriver started a day camp for people with intellectual disabilities at her home in Rockville, Maryland. Her vision quickly gained recognition and momentum, and in 1968 the first International Special Olympics Games were held at Soldier Field, Chicago, bringing together over 1,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities from 26 states and Canada. Since then, Mrs. Shriver's vision has grown into one of the largest and most successful sports and volunteer organizations in the world. There are Special Olympics chapters in every state of America and in more than 150 countries worldwide, serving more than three-million Special Olympics athletes. Special Olympics Nevada opened its doors in 1973. What started originally as a small grass-roots organization has since become a powerful voice for athletes with intellectual disabilities throughout Nevada.
