Stay to support our big winners and enjoy some fine Bourbon Smoked Maple Pig and fellowship. Banquet begins after the completion of the second Stock Dog trial on Sunday. Fellowship Dinner: Join us Saturday night for a Dutch treat dinner at one of the local Cartersville restaurants. If a tie still exists then the same criteria will be used for the highest score on the sort, then gather, then time. If there is no common stock, then the score with the most complex stock wins. Ties will be broken by High Cattle score, then Sort score. In addition to the Belt Buckle Very colorful 7” Rosette with 20” streamers titled “High Combined Stock Super Dog” will be awarded to the dog and handler team that obtains the highest combined score for all trials. In the event of a tie there will be a runoff using 5 head of sheep on the Arena A-course using Advanced rules. At least two ASCA judges shall judge the runoff and an average score used. If a tie still exists, then the runoff time will be used. Award restrictions: For Exhibition Only dogs do not qualify for any awards. The word “Dog” indicates that it may be any herding breed or cross breed of herding origin as outlined and approved by ASCA. Thursday, November 7, Ranch Dog Trials, Judge Wayne Kirby (Georgia) Day of entry – 7-7:30 AM, handlers meeting at 7:30, trials begin 15 minutes after completion of handlers meeting. Approximately 30 minute break between Cattle and Sheep. Handler run order will be announced at the handler’s meeting. Stock run order will be Cattle then Sheep. Specifications and instructions for Ranch Trial (cattle & sheep) are listed at the end of this premium. Ranch Dog Trial will be limited to 8 Cattle and 12 Sheep. A waiting list will be established, watch the ASCA-L or our website for entry updates. Friday, November 8, Farm Dog Trials, Judge Larry Teaff (Texas) Day of entry – 7-7:30 AM, handlers meeting at 7:30, trials begin immediately after completion of handlers meeting Cattle (Beef Mix), ducks (Mix), mixed sheep/ducks, Sheep (Hair Mix), Farm Trial running order of stock will be Cattle>sheep>Mixed, and then Ducks. Stock head count will be 3-Cattle, 5Sheep, 5-Ducks and 5 each ducks and sheep for the mixed. Specifications for all Farm Trials is listed at the end of this premium. Farm Dog Trial entries will be limited to 7 Cattle, 10 Ducks, 7 Mixed and 12 Sheep. A waiting list will be established, watch the ASCA-L or our website for entry updates. Saturday & Sunday November 9, 10—Arena Trials The Arena trials on Saturday and Sunday will run both Cattle and Ducks concurrently. Once both cattle and both ducks are complete there will be a lunch break while the sheep are set up. Entry limits per day for Arena trials will be 16-Cattle (8/trial), 24-Duck (12/trial), and 32-Sheep (16/trial). We will be running 3 head of Cattle, 4 head of Sheep and 5 head of Ducks. Remove 10 head of stock from Holding Pen in Pasture 1. Move stock thru Alley #1, into Pasture 2 and into Pen A. Pasture Work 30 points 2. Take stock from Pen A into Pen B. Pen Work 10 points 3. Sort three marked head into Pen C. Sort 20 points 4. Move marked stock back into Pen B. Move stock from Pen B into Pen C. Pen Work 10 points 5. Move stock thru Chute and release into Pasture 2. Chute Work 20 points 6. Gather stock and move thru Alley 2 into the repen. Pasture work 10 points. Handler is responsible for closing any gates that were closed at the start of the run. • This is not an overly large or complicated course so in accordance with stockdog regulation 10.5.7 you will have 20 minutes to complete the tasks with a warning at 10 minutes and 5 minutes. • A Ranch Trial Dog title is earned by obtaining 75% of the total score. Only one qualifying score is required for a RTD title. • Ten head of stock will be used in the Ranch trial. CHUTE: 25 points Move stock thru chute into pasture, take thru Alley 1 and place in Take pen 25 points SPECIFIC TASK 2: Take stock from Repen thru arena into Alley 2 and set-out. Advanced dogs Must drive the stock; open dogs may fetch or drive the stock to the feed pan. Wait for stock to settle in the vicinity of the feed pan and execute a call off command to your dog. 15 points Handler is responsible for closing all gates on the pens and chute head gate • You have 30 minutes to complete the tasks and return all gates to original starting position. You will receive a warning at 10 minutes and 3 minutes remaining. • Scoring ties cattle will be broken by sort, then gather scores • Trial will take place rain or shine; however, safety of the handler, dog and stock is paramount so it may be delayed if conditions warrant. • 5 head of cattle will be used. Then gather the remaining two ducks from the arena and move them into the same holding pen. 25 points SPECIFIC TASK 2: Take sheep from take pen thru Alley 1 and set-out on feed pan. Advanced dogs must drive the sheep thru the arena, Alley 1 and pasture to the set point at the feed pan. Open dogs may fetch or drive the sheep to the set point. Allow the stock to settle then execute a call off command to your dog. 15 points • You will have 20 minutes to complete the tasks and return all gates to the original starting position. Enter through the wide opening of the “Y”. 15 points CHUTE: Move ducks thru chute. Enter through the mouth of the chute. 25 points SORT: Move ducks into Pen C and sort 3 marked head back into Open area, and close gate. Then bring the remaining 2 ducks out of Pen C into the open area and close gate. 25 points PEN WORK: Move ducks into Pen A, close gate; then move ducks from Pen A into Pen B, close gate. Then move ducks from Pen B and place in an empty holding pen. 25 points SPECIFIC TASK 2: Take ducks from designated holding pen to set-out pan. Advanced dogs must drive the ducks to the set point in the vicinity of the feed pan. Open dogs may fetch or drive to the set point.
