History – Hutchinson is rich in history, dating back to 1855 when the Hutchinson Brothers
founded our town. From the harmonious sounds of the Hutchinson Brothers singing and
businesses that have served the community for over 100 years; to the more somber side, the
inglorious death of Chief Little Crow, who is commemorated by both the name of the river that
runs through Hutchinson and by a bronze statue beside the Main Street Bridge, Hutchinson has
much to offer those who are fascinated by history.
5
