GRADUATION DAY 2014
Au Revoir
-Akanksha Jain
3rd April, 2014, Williamson Magor Hall
As one looked around, glitter and smiles adorned the populace. Proud
parents, excited students and relieved teachers alike, each had a sad
smile for it was time to bid farewell. The Master-of-Ceremonies began the
proceedings, realization sunk in; though it was a night of celebration, it
was also a night to bid farewell. The Chief Guest at this occasion was
Lt. Gen. A. Ahuja, a Master in Defence Studies, and a specialist in
counter insurgency, currently posted in North-Eastern India. Though the
words were conveyed in different voices, but the message was same, the
School would miss the students who had just graduated and they would
miss the School.
The Head of School led the community in prayer. The graduating School
Captain, Aman Agarwal, spoke about his life as a junior and then a
senior, about how this school was his family, thanked his teachers,
apologized for his mistakes and wished his classmates the best for the
future. Graduating pupil, Rishabh Goenka, in his speech spoke of
tolerance, patience and leadership, about this home away from home
which taught him gratitude and apologized to his parents, the UT
workers, the teachers, seniors, juniors and friends. He concluded by
saying, “Once an aviator, always an aviator”, and quoted Oscar Wilde,
“To live is the rarest thing, most people just exist”.
The Student Choir then performed the song, „Friends Forever‟. The
graduating Head Boy‟s humorous yet humbling account of his graduation
from AVS brought in a light mood, relieving the serious tone of the song.
“The viral fever, better known otherwise as the ISC examinations, was
left behind them and now that was the history of this School”, said
Hrishiraj. He shared with us what his tuition teacher had once told him,
that life is like driving a car, you have to focus on the front view but also
check the rear and side mirrors from time to time. Thereafter, the Staff
Choir‟s rendition „This World Is Yours‟ with Head of School as the lead
singer, reverberated in the hall, accompanied by a slide show of
photographs that captured the fresh graduates in various moods.
The graduating Head Girl, Joyeeta Dutta announced that the boys
and girls of AVS had now become young men and women. She spoke
about her experience as a „typical aviator‟, ready all the time for the
opportunities, reluctant to return from home when session started, the
mistakes she made, the love for AVS, the spirit of the house and the
French fries of the cafeteria. Lt. Gen. A. Ahuja took to the podium,
announcing that the 93 graduating students are sharing their happiness
and their success with their parents, their teachers and all those who are
proud of them. Then reciting Rudyard Kipling‟s „If‟ he went on to talk
about courage, integrity, morals, dignity, compassion, expectations and
above all faith in one‟s self to overcome apprehensions and fear.
He then distributed the mementoes to the graduates and after each one
of them had taken away the little replica of the School emblem, the Master-of-Ceremonies delivered the vote of thanks. It was time
to face the big bad world but the graduates had a night of celebration filled with music, dance and photographs, captured in
celluloid and in memories, before commencing the rat race of life.

go-getter, motivating every girl every passing day. Her smile and efforts never went unnoticed and will

eye. Her charming eyes, her energetic spirit and that oh- so- pretty mole on her upper lip is to die for.
Chubakumla Ozukum: Bhoroli's Iron Woman made every Bhoroli girl believe that when the going gets
tough, the tough get going. Her exemplary spirit in the sports field encouraged each one of us to excel at
a sport whilst at AVS. She is hard working and passionate about everything she does and that's what
kept her focused always
Elona Ayemi: The chirpy little fun-filled spunky girl with a twinkle in her eyes. Her love for sports,
enduring spirit and damn-care attitude with academics but still coming out in flying colours encouraged
all of us. She'll be missed by all.
147
Venus Haobam: The quiet, shy, always-in-the-corner-with-her-guitar girl, a woman with few words
never went unnoticed. Being the academic head in the house, she encouraged each girl to succeed,
believe in themselves and told them that they could strive to excel in every field.
Alismita Pathak: Always looked up by every girl when it came to Athletics. She was really helpful and
understanding. You could talk to her about anything and everything and she was never biased and
judgemental. Her House spirit was way beyond limits and she crossed every hurdle to be where she is
now.
LOHIT
Aman Agarwal: The macho-man of Lohit with gifted leadership qualities, the School Captain. He was a
fun-loving guy up for any challenge given to him anytime and anywhere. His performance in the ISC
Board Examination 2014, with an aggregate of 92.50% was excellent.
Abhigyan Saikia: The leader of the House. He was a fun and frolic person and the laughter of the
House, along with his best buddy Abhishek. Their jokes are really being missed. Wherever he went, he
left his aura behind. He was also the school Badminton Captain. He had shown his presence in Cultural
Events and was a great Tabla Player. His leadership qualities led us to victory for the RB Magor trophy.
Shaunak Sokey: The Artist and the Ladies-man of the House. He was an outstanding shooter who
never missed the Bulls-Eye. He was an amazing Squash Player and showed his presence in the Sports
field. He was always there whenever anyone needed him. He was also an excellent singer and guitarist
and his voice captured the hearts of many. His hardwork made it possible for him to get into the
NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF DESIGN, AHMEDABAD.
Rweetom Baruah: The biggest Manchester United FC fan the House could ever get. Kind and soft
hearted inside but rough and tough outside. As the House Prefect he led the House well and contributed
to the House every way possible, a True LOHITIAN by heart. A very good Soccer player and contributed
a lot to the School Team.
Abhishek Dasgupta: One would say, he was the funniest person AVS had ever seen. His lingos were
widely famous. A true sportsman, the Cricket Captain of the School Team, always led from the front,
showing his extraordinary talent in the game. He contributed to the House every way possible and
surely will be remembered by the Lohitians.
Kekhriesetsu Keseize: The most sincere boy of the House, a very good sportsman and one of the most
capable leaders seen by the House as the House Prefect. He was one of the toughest men Lohit has ever
seen. Loved by all, he was a true Lohitian.
148
Deepanjan Das: He was a quiet and shy person. He was an excellent Horse Rider. He was really
motivational and inspirational when it came to academics. His hard work always seemed to impress
others and it did pay off with his ISC aggregate of 92.5%.
Kingku Pertin: The cutest and the calmest person of our House. An extraordinary soccer player, he
contributed a lot to the School Team. He was always there to teach and help anyone in need. On the
ladies part, he did not open his heart much even though he was loved by all the girls.
Vishroot Jalan: A brother to all, a very cheerful person and the Nadal of the House. Marathons or
Athletics, you talk about long distance events and he would be there right at the top. He has always
contributed to the House in every aspect possible. He was an inspiration for the Lohitians and will
remain in all our hearts.
Neelav Chakravarty: One of the toppers of Lohit House with an excellent ISC board result. Mischief
and Neelav go hand in hand with the topping of his funkiest hairstyle disasters ever. The “slim shaddy”
of our House and a crazy football fan. He spent half his school life playing FIFA. He will always be
remembered for the uniqueness he had in him and to top it all he was AKA “Alien”.
Pawan Toshniwal: The best swimmer Lohit has ever got, the only one responsible for the victory of
Lohit House in the Inter-House Swimming (2013). A very sincere and studious guy he has the heart of
the tiger from inside and the softness of a cheese ball from outside. His “khool” attitude will always be
remembered.
Angshuman Hazarika: The die-hard fan of Cricket, he could do anything for cricket and when the IPL
season is around no one can dare to oppose Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in front of him, he was just too
crazy for cricket. He was a very sincere guy when it came to his academics, he will always be
remembered by all the Lohitians especially when India or KKR is playing a match.
Yashraj Bajpai: The lover boy of our House, most of the time he would be on LOC. He was an excellent
swimmer and tennis player. He contributed a lot to the House whenever he could and was a true
Lohitian. He will be loved and missed by all Lohitians.
Ketan Jain: The tech-savvy guy of Lohit, a very calm person who stayed with himself and did not
interfere much in others‟ work. As he was the only science student in Lohit, most of the time he would
be in his room studying. He was an excellent horse rider and has contributed a lot to the CDT Center.
149
JINARI
Sakshi Agarwal: The constantly-on-edge, yet “SUPER-COOL” House Captain. No one played the part
of the understanding senior, with occasional fits of craziness, better than her. Recently-turned dancer,
avid sportsman and a master of the hair-flip, the „late night sessions‟ with her in the prefects room shall
be sorely missed. And of course, VM.
Simran Agarwal: The cute little girl of the house, she is so full of abbreviations from „Emba‟ to „Kanj‟
that comprehending is nearly impossible. The ‘chota packet bada dhamaka’ of the house, who could chat
for long hours at any given point of the day. Throughout the years she has fed generations of Jinari
Girls with ethnic food. YPS times and Taboo, not to be forgotten.
Melanie Pariat: The Glamorous Diva. A national-level shooter, from dance to sports, there weren‟t
many things she wasn‟t good at. A crazy party animal, always open to anything remotely wacko,
especially Harlem Shake, the absence of the „dietician‟ of the house is strongly felt.
Nishi Agarwalla: The Fashionista. The dancer who was incredibly intelligent yet unintentionally
humorous she could be found in front of the mirror at all hours. She was a constant source of
entertainment and advice and the Math guru of everyone from the House Captain to the juniors.
Nabarupa Das: The Bangladeshi immigrant of the House whose no-nonsense attitude left everyone
from the students to the teachers shell-shocked. Having boisterous and loud mannerisms offstage and
uncannily graceful and dainty attitude onstage, she was amazingly versatile. She will be missed on the
dance floor and in the House, equally.
Rajlakshmi Sharma: „And life goes on.‟ Only someone who knows Raj would understand the
implication of this phrase. In just two years, she managed to become the „gossip-centre‟ of the House. A
never-say-no girl, she was caring, loving and an elder sister to many in the House.
Ruchi Singh Vasudev: Driven. Ambitious. Extremely straightforward and a different species
altogether. These few words give an overview of the dynamite that Ruchi was.She was a walking,
talking encyclopedia of books and novels and had a twisted sense of humour which would make even
P.G. Wodehouse proud. Ruchi, our wands are always with you.
Emily Pyrbot: The fierce yet shy basketball player, who was a determined and steadfast leader.
150
Danica Lyngwa: The studious and dedicated Sciencey who was passionate about books, Chemistry and
singing. And of course, Grey‟s Anatomy. Perhaps, we shall see her on the cover of “Physics Now” or some
such magazine, ten years from now, having proven the existence of an actual phoenix or even Hogwarts.
Pratikshita Gharphalia: The Sleeping Beauty of the house, her love for her “Louis Vuitton” and
“Chanel” and her “Dolce And Gabbana” had made her popular among many girls.
MANAS
Jansher Aidan Nongrum Bakshi: Undoubtedly the best swimmer that Manas has ever had and
arguably the best ever in school. A man of much knowledge and admiration, in Manas he was someone
who didn‟t speak much but when he spoke, every one listened and was inspired by him. He was someone
who would find the tiniest spark of talent in someone and would take it upon himself to turn it into a
brilliant fire
Brendan A. Mawlong: The fastest man at AVS in his time, an exceptional footballer and the leader of
our House. Brendan was not only an exceptional cricketer but also the Captain of the AVS Soccer team.
Brendan did all he could to keep the Manas flag flying high and in our eyes he never let it touch the
ground.
Varun Mody: Varun, the House Prefect (and the silent lover boy), the solid pillar without which the
House would have had a shaky foundation and probably would have even fallen. Varun was an
exceptional cricketer and a scholar as well and he was someone whom every junior looked up to and
wanted to be, because he didn‟t just lead, he inspired.
Niyor Khusroo: Never can a Manasite be more philosophical than our very own Lechubari boy. An
encyclopedia of DC Comics, Niyor could answer any question related to Superman, Batman or any other
superhero for that matter. He was the only „Sciencee‟ Manas has seen who was also an Injustice
champion.
Yugant Heda: An awe-inspiring badminton player and the Table Tennis Captain of AVS, Yugant was a
kind senior whom juniors could always go to while seeking help. His silent presence in the House will be
missed dearly by all Manasites.
Arunav Phukan: Phukan Da was one man who could woo anyone with that charming smile of his,
made even more fascinating with the dimples on his cheeks. A national level rider and a hardcore
bodybuilder, he took bodybuilding in AVS to a whole new level. One of the only dhuliyas the School ever
had, he also spent a lot of time at the squash court.
151
Samrat Thakuria: Samrat is embedded in the heart of every Manasite for his Elvis-like voice and
acoustic guitar that frequently rang out through the corridors of Manas during examinations. Being the
Golf Captain, he celebrated each shot with a trip to the cafeteria and loved cooking.
Sidhanth Kabra: All hail the „cowboy‟ of Manas, the best one there is, for not only was he the School
Riding Captain but also a National Champion. He redefined hard work in Academics, but he was so
much more than just that, he was also a phenomenal musician. There were a lot of hidden talents in
Kabra, for there was nothing that he could not do well if he set his mind to it and as he used to say, “You
have to risk it, to get the biscuit.”
Puspak Chamariya: Puspak was not only an actor but also a debator, elocutionist, writer, public
speaker, director and love guru! Everything in one, Puspak was a one man army. The Cultural Affairs
Captain of AVS had actually covered each aspect of cultural life in the School, going on to win three out
of the five major awards during Founders‟. Undoubtedly an overachiever, his intense cheering during
India-Pakistan cricket matches will be missed by all.
Arpit Agarwal: Dedication and determination defined our House Prefect from Tinsukia. He was not
only a good House Prefect but also a hilarious senior to hang out with, with his frequent outbursts of
„Talent‟ and „Concept‟. Truly, he was right when he said “I don‟t make sense, sense makes me!”
Edgar Diengdoh: Homies!! And we knew Edgar was arguably the craziest guy in Manas. The soccer
stud of Manas was known for his fun loving attitude and intense post-lights out pranks that always kept
the House in high spirits. With him gone, the LOC seems much emptier now.
Aniket Sinha: In class 7, Aniket got a gold medal in the Science Olympiad. Then, he met Edgar. With
Edgar, this Hitler fan was a threatening presence in the Manas Football Team as well as during the post
lights out phase. One of the worst CID haters, his sense of humor will echo in the corridors of Manas
forever.
Hriday Agarwal: The first thing that comes to a Manasite‟s mind at the sight of Hriday is a politician.
Although he kept a low profile, he was a blaring trumpet during MUN and vehemently expressed his
views. There was not a time in Manas when Hriday did not offer help to a junior when asked for.
Arunav Deka: The Pioneer of electric music at AVS, Arunav had an upbeat vibe to do things which he
wanted to. He was often termed as 'different' in attitude but that is what we Manasites appreciated
about him, his different approach to all things in life, towards music, academics and lastly the rules.
KOPILI
152
Monica Moirangthem: She led the house with all her might and the hunger for victory. She is very
highly spirited and strong willed. She is also very inspiring and an amazing role model. She is one
person one can definitely rely on if need be. With her hard work she helped us achieve a lot. It is
impossible for us to forget her.
Ambika Agarwal: She is extremely enthusiastic and charismatic. She is the one with the million
dollar smile. She was a constant companion to her friends and her friendly nature also made her very
popular among juniors. She was one of the best sportspersons in Kopili. She will be missed.
Devika Shekhawat: She believes in herself and does not even spend a second of her day wondering
what others think of her, she just does what she wants to, which is very admirable. She is very
approachable and an amazing counsellor and of course, a great swimmer. All the best!!
Priyanka Kakoty: A very friendly person who is always looking out for her juniors. She is a fashion
enthusiast and has done her best to contribute as much as she could for the House. She will always
remain in our hearts. The little children with whom she spent a lot of her time will specially remember
her.
Keerthana Borah: She was popularly known as Kristie. She was never found with a frown on her face
and has the amazing ability to make anyone smile, no matter how upset they are. She mesmerizes the
crowd with her graceful dance performances. Kudos to her!!!
Prerna Gogoi: She is very candid in her words and always stands for what she thinks is right. She is a
praiseworthy writer and intellectual person. Amazing as she is, she opens up to very few people. Best
wishes.
Pooja Priya: A very lively and cheerful girl but is a lioness in the hockey field. The CDT department
was one of her favourite hangouts. She is a very bold and forgiving person who has left a mark in many
people‟s lives.
Riyanka Saikia: Life always seemed to be a smooth sail for her, optimist that she was. She can remain
calm and composed no matter what obstacles she may have to face. She is a free spirited girl who knows
how to live life to its fullest. Happy trails to you.
DHANSIRI
Gautam Gogoi: The Captain of Dhansiri House. A person whose very presence inspires others. He was
a dynamic leader and always did what he thought was right. He was one of the finest elocutionists
despite being a devoted Science student. His presence, especially his playfulness is missed by all as he
was a leader who could withstand almost any storm and not falter.
153
Gurmeher Singh Mann: The Mann.A fun loving boy, he was approachable at all times. He was always
ready with his free advice and his stories depicting his family history went on and on and on. Gurmeher
never cared for what others thought about him and always spoke his mind without a second thought.
Pratik Chakravarty: This goner was probably the cutest of the lot. He was a prefect who was harsh
when required but caring at all times. A squash captain with supreme talents he emulated house and
school spirit to the maximum level. Rarely do we see a Science student gel so well with the opposite sex
as his „proposing‟ skills were unlike any other.
Hrishiraj Das: A man, a leader unlike any other. Soft spoken as he was wise, he was a teacher‟s
delight and was loved by all juniors. Sometime he was a butt of all jokes amongst his classmates but he
was very good natured about it. His gentleman like qualities made many girls weak in the knees but his
heart was strictly reserved for one. The mastermind of politics will always remain shrouded in mystery.
Kartic Dugar: The Event Management Head of the school. A post which required a lot of dedication
and hard work and Kartic surely lived up to it. He was a very good cricketer, in fact the first from our
school to score a century. The one thing about him which is distinctly remembered is his manner of
speaking.
Arijit Phukan: His exploits in the cricket field and tennis court were second to none. A charming boy,
he was a „ladies man‟ or more appropriately said, a „lady man‟. He was super smart as well, after all who
else could get a perfect score in Math.
Madhurjya Das: “The Chest of Dhansiri”. Believe it or not he had a heart bigger than that chest of his.
This big boy was a riot and his laugh could bring down the house be it before morning conditioning or
after lights out.
Paras Bajaj: The boy with the golden touch. He was different. He could rap and sing, he was a tabla
maestro and was one of the best tennis players in the entire school. Paras had a completely unique
thought process and you could converse with him for hours if you could stick to his groove.
Nathan Pariat: The soccer talisman and Captain-Classico of the Assam Valley School. He always led
by example and was an inspiration to all. He was one of the most narcissistic people around and loved
every hair on his head. His laugh still echoes in the corridors of Dhansiri.
Gaurav Dey: An extraordinary sportsperson, this sports captain was a beast in all forms of sport.
Nobody had the gall to insult him, at least on the face they didn‟t. If you are looking for something he‟s
probably the person you should go to, blessed as he was with the ability to „borrow‟.
154
Prithviraj Andrew Tomar: Commonly known as „Tomar‟, he was the bodybuilding prefect of Dhansiri
house and “Oh, what a body he had!” This huge guy with a baby‟s attitude was the sweet giant of Dhansiri loved by all. Madhurjya and his relationship probably exceed the boundaries of brotherly love.
Sahil Jain: This Marathon Captain of Dhansiri was a really nice guy. He could work his charms with
the ladies, well at least with one lady. Always ready to help, he never took offence when jeered at. The
stuntman of AVS will always be remembered for his exam-time stunts.
Harsit Agarwal: „The Pujari!‟. A peace loving boy, his favourite pastime was probably taking rounds of
Dhansiri with his headphones plugged in.
Anubhav Agarwal: An honest boy whose presence in Dhansiri inspired many scholars. A „great‟ fielder
whose catching skills, however, were forgettable, he was surpassed in academics only by his brother,
Harsh.
Harsh Agarwal: Caring, loved and blessed. He would emulate sincerity to the maximum level. The
scholar of Dhansiri will be missed.
Rishabh Goenka: There is a reason he comes last. Fortune favoured him and only him. Photography
and event management were his two callings. There was not a time that this boy wouldn‟t gossip about
girls or help them out, if need be.
SUBANSIRI
Anusikha Paul: Want any hairstyle or a haircut, she is the right person to run to. She is a beautiful
dancer and a great Volleyball player. She is what defines a „not-so-hardcore sciencey‟ but a devoted
Biotech student (noticeable in her Biotech marks – a whopping 99%). She always had something or the
other to talk about and her „after-lights-out‟ talks will be dearly missed.
Rubyanka Salam: A „nightingale‟ is what defines her best. Anyone will be amazed to see how „powerful‟
her eyes were! She had the sweetest smile and she never failed to make the people around her happy.
Rubyanka also equals to „best advices.‟ The only question we would like to ask her is “How on earth did
you manage to maintain your figure even after taking hills and mountains of rice every single day?”
155
Tanvi Goyal: A passionate MUNner. Her one thousand and one best friends, her frequently changing
„favourite books‟, her ability to be a sport and laugh at jokes on herself, her infinite supply of food, her
expensive perfumes, her never-ending stories, her poetic skills…the list just does not stop... Everything
about her will be missed in Subansiri.
Snehankita Borah: Ace tennis player, national shooter, superb singer, graceful dancer, actress and
table tennis player. Remove all these accolades and yet, an interesting, cherubic, caring and lively girl
remains at the end of it. As the House Prefect, she inspired us all and we all will dearly miss her,
“Dhunu Suwali.”
Gepi Sora: Spontaneous and a damn-care attitude described this musical girl of our House. She was a
fervent lover of the „éclairs‟ toffee and had the most weird laugh that could set anybody off. Another girl
bursting with life, she will be missed.
Melu Phasang: Star sport player of the House. Place her in any sport and you will undoubtedly see
passion and wonder. A hard-core „manga‟ freak and a friend to all juniors, she was adored as a House
Prefect (probably because she never shouted). Her enthusiasm on the field with free smiles in the House
is going to be difficult to forget.
Anuska Gupta: As the House Captain of the House or even otherwise, she is always strong and
confident and she stands tall like a pillar. She is organized but what we loved about her was that she is
never a control freak. Her love for each Subansiri girl reflects her love for the House for she is
approachable, not only in dire circumstances, but also for small talk and gossip.
Vallari Jalan: Her energy is inversely proportional to her size and she wears her heart on her sleeve. A
dedicated EM prefect and a phenomenal dancer, she could win anyone‟s heart with her dynamic
presence and animated manner. Help is always available at her doorstep and you‟d know that just by
looking at her smile.
Malavika Bansal: Practicality and Malvika are synonymous. She has a love for food and like any other
girl, for clothes, but all that is supposed to be a secret. Problems are to be presented to her and she will
devour them, and they shall submit. She believes in hard work, both in terms of workouts and academic
work and luck favours her likewise.
Supriya Agarwal: If you hear a shrill loud voice piercing through the air about Subansiri, you know for
sure that Supriya has some fresh gossip waiting to be spilled. Never one to shy away from doing what
she wants to do; Supriya lives a life true to her heart. She inspires each one with her infamous academic
struggle, proving that success is not unattainable.
Radhika Gupta: „Radhe‟, „Radha‟, call her what you may, because you know that when you call out, she
will respond. Whether you have gossip, or you want to ramble about your life and your problems
unrelentingly, Radhika is the person to go to. Her love for all things „cute‟ is as prominent as her cute
personality.
156
NAMDANG
Longtilong Longkumer: With his exclusive and exotic trends, he could define style itself.
Straightforward in approach, he took keen pleasure in extracting people‟s secrets though his own are yet
to be disclosed. His inspiring leadership and the adorable wit will surely be missed.
Siddhant Recho Terang: Aided by his determination, he turned out to be the backbone of the AVS
Football Squad. Since his attempt to copy Marco Rues‟ hairstyle turned out to be futile in AVS, we wish
him luck in future.
Harshit Kumar Aggarwal: Also known as „Bawri‟, his sense of humour specialized in taking the tension out of serious moments. Though he had a childlike temperament, he was matured beyond his years.
Being a non-footballer, this football fanatic was the FIFA champ of Namdang. His image of a trouble
shooter is still prominent in the House.
Parth More: The Luiz Suarez of the House was winner of the prestigious „Stuti Pandey‟ award. Though
pessimistic, he was arduous in nature. Partners in crime with the aforementioned „Bawri‟, their silly
fights turned them into a replica of a husband-wife duo.
Daksha Salam: Quiet in nature, he transformed his thoughts into magnificent pieces of art. Often you
would be caught unaware when he insulted politely. A very hardworking E.M. Prefect, he took active
part in managing events.
Karge Koyu: An exceptional archer who always found a bulls-eye in a woman‟s heart. Though his love
interests changed, his love was always exemplary. Easy going in nature, he was the recluse to turn to
when in need of advice.
Advaiy Chettri: A heart and soul metal fan, the posters in his room would never fail to freak the soul
out of a visitor. He has always harboured a soft corner for iced-tea. We would sum up this philosopher as
„simple yet complicated‟.
157
LEAVERS 2015
BHOROLI
Archiya Habib: Archiya is a sweet and loving sister. It is always fun to be around her. She always has
interesting things to talk about. She is very welcoming and treats everyone like her own. She‟s a real
brainy and we‟re positive that she won‟t let herself or any of the teachers down. Everyone looks up to
her. Her company has overwhelmed all of us.
Norbu Choden: She is someone who believes in the no-nonsense attitude and that is how she keeps the
house going. She stands up for herself and what is right. She knows when to be serious and when to let
go and have fun. And boy, you better close your ears because she laughs real hard. She is a great person
inside and we know that she‟ll go far in life. Oh, and she has a fetish for Korean movies and Harry
Styles!
Reshmee Das: Most people know her as Miss Bamboo. She‟s a quiet girl for those who do not know her
but for those who do, we‟re sure you know what we are talking about. She‟s a fun loving girl who giggles
at the smallest of things, always smiling and always sunny. She is humorous and enjoys being silly and
that‟s what makes staying with her worthwhile.
Melissa Rhea Terrangpi: Creativity doesn‟t even begin to describe her. She has a beautiful voice and
is artistic in more ways than one. One is always pumped up in her company. The amount of times she
blinks her eyes is really mind boggling. Beautiful in her own ways, she is like a novel full of surprises.
Srishti Bhargav Singh: She is the calmest and the most understanding person in the house, always
ready to face adversities with the most positive outlook. She has a great passion for the stage and acting
and singing have always been a part of her. And nobody will dare forget her for her favourite pass time:
combing her „Katrina‟ like hair and her obsession for Bollywood actors.
Najiba Yasmin: If we have to describe her in one word, we‟d all agree with unique. She is intelligent
yet graceful. She has a beautiful heart and is ever ready to help people out. Her talents which are
numerous include painting, writing, dancing and also public speaking. She always stands for what she
believes in. Najiba Yasmin is not a follower but a trend setter.
Umme Mehr Hazarika: Intelligent, responsible, sporty and full of life, the tag „beauty with brains‟ is
completely suited to her. Her name practically screams house captain. She cares for everyone around her
and never fails to lend a helping hand. She has always managed to inspire us and we hope she inspires
many more on the way. Light up many more lives!
Yvette Mawrie: Yvette is one of the jolliest of persons in the house. She is beautiful from inside out and
is an exceptionally good listener. Her selfless nature is much appreciated by all. Words don‟t even begin
to describe her. Beware all, there is a dazzling beauty among us.
158
Simone Sharma: She is the type who would never fail to stand up for her friends or help others in
need. She is determined and hard working and truly an inspiring athlete. Bad news boys, she will never
love you as much as she loves Naruto.
Antara Borah: Bubbly and down to earth is what we love best about her. She possesses excellent
sportsmanship and is always good humoured. She carries a positive aura and is always humble and
reliable. This is what the house believes in and she was destined to be in Bhoroli.
Badonnam Pyrbot: She is a true sportswoman with amazing game sense. You put her anywhere; she‟ll
play and play well, mind you. She is a sweet girl who cares for those around her. She takes
responsibilities very seriously and does what she thinks is right. She accepts challenges with grace and
a positive outlook, and that is the reason for her constant success.
LOHIT
Kohtiba Sangtam: Calm and cool, yet friendly and heartwarming. This young man has led Lohit House
this past year with passion and determination. A tiger among tigers, our cute House Captain, Kohtiba
Sangtam.
Ajay Sharma: Stern and serious, hardworking and chivalrous, this silent young little man has guided
and seen over the development of the House with care and caution.
Laloo Phassang: His broken German accent and Korean looks never ceased to amaze the bulk of
students that resided across the LOC. A humorous but serious individual who always upheld the ruler
and played it cool by befriending everyone with his charming smile. He is none other than Laloo
Phassang.
Darpan Bora: His famous service to the House will never be forgotten. Slightly tanned, he may be, but
this young man has a heart of gold. Always helping people and guiding juniors while abiding by the
rules as well.
Jason Nongmaithem: Jason Nongmaithem, an honest young man. He aspires to make it big in life, he
has all of our support since he has always supported us as well. Being good in basketball as well as in
academics and not losing grades in the looks department, he never ceased to amaze the girls.
159
Deepam Gattani: Highly intelligent and quite knowledgeable, this Lohitian has inspired in us a love
for learning and making money.
Priyam Bhoopal: Hardworking and studious, his skills in Tabla are unparalleled and he continues to
inspire in us a love for the arts.
Swarup Paul: Flaunting his great skills in the sport called cricket, this Lohitian has proven himself in
many other fields as well. He wishes the House to grow from strength to strength.
Antareep Kakati: His risky and flamboyant goalkeeping has always mesmerized the crowd and won
cheers from many Lohitians. A true Lohitian who upholds the House motto and never gives up.
Shubham Bajaj: Logical and calculative, this Lohitian has always supported all the boys, encouraging
them and shouting at them that hardwork truly pays off.
Shivam Saraf: Kindhearted and humorous, Shivam has extended his warm heart to all the Lohitians.
Always lively and cheerful, he never allows a dull moment and tends to break the monotony of the usual
school days.
Siddharth Thapa: A very hardworking science student, he never lets down his peers or his teachers.
Abiding by the rules and guiding the Lohit boys, often more than not, about science related topics.
Vidit Patni: A serious, bespectacled, young lad, his famous churan will never be forgotten, his antics in
the commerce class shall go down in history. We will always remember his love and support when we fell
down. He has always helped us stand up whenever we fall down
Rishabh Patni: An excellent debater, his exceptional skills in debating and academics has always
enthralled and amazed the audiences.
160
Trisanka Banik: A very hardworking and talented individual, his deep well of potentialities is yet to be
discovered. He has exceptional ability in sports and academics. And his strategies are nearly impossible
to overcome. A very supportive and caring senior. We will always remember you.
Himanshu Agarwal: An excellent cricketer, his awesome athletic moves have always been a welcome
sigh. Like all seniors, he too guides all juniors to strive for perfection.
Kaushik Das: A passionate young man, always chasing his dreams but never forgetting that his feet
are firmly planted on the ground. He strives to instil in us a burning passion for chasing our aspirations.
Rohan Saraf: A highly intellectual individual possessing a deep well of refined knowledge. A Commerce
student in the head but a friendly person at heart.
Prateek Jain: An able table tennis player, his techno-savvy skills are always impressive. His jokes
shall be missed dearly.
Karan Raj Gupta: A very active and hardworking Lohitian. A good historian and a capable mathematician as well. His knowledgeable lectures of historical events shall be missed.
JINARI
Simran Vasvani: Also known as her „Daddy‟s Girl‟. The very happy-go-lucky and hardworking Event
Management Prefect of our House. Her love for „Forever New‟ is just unbeatable. She is always there
when she is needed to help her classmates, seniors and juniors without fail.
Margarita Pakyntein: The nightingale of Jinari who can get the whole school on their toes grooving to
her melodious voice, a talented basketball player with a ridiculous sense of humour. In other words, an
invaluable asset to the house.
Chipenla Chang: The One-Directioner of the house who can sleep for 12 hours or more at a stretch and
still worry about her non-existent dark circles. Our Soccer Captain can be a fashionista when she wants
to be. She is someone who goes out of her way to help others and encourage them to be better people.
Moreover, she has a unique camaraderie with the juniors which shall be deeply remininsced.
161
Rojaskiya Ranjeet: There is no doubt that this spirited Jinarian is a born leader. She may be reckless
but that‟s part of her charm. She is a graceful Sattriya dancer with an inborn talent of acting. Her
infectious enthusiasm and her cheering in all events shall reverberate in the halls of Jinari for a long
time as will her constant flow of gossip and advice related to issues of the heart(ahem!).
Sumixna Borchetia: An awesome „Cleopatra‟ who breathes „Harry Potter‟. This jolly, humorous
Doraemon of happiness can get your ribs tickling with the tiniest of remarks. A lover of all things
„yummy‟, she is a born entertainer who can act, sing as well as dance. In two years, she has managed to
charm the juniors as well as her peers.
Kareena Bordoloi: The Consistent late-comer and the leader of „Jiggy-Jaggz‟, the „singers‟ of Jinari, is
extremely talented in all fields, be it sports or culture or academics. Perceived as serious and somber by
those who do not know her well, she, too, can crack a joke or too if the occasion demands.
Sukanya Borboruah: The clown of the crowd who loves to spread joy around by sharing things starting
from an eraser to a pair of heels. The crazy Anime fan who knows Anime down to its roots which
becomes amazingly creepy. She is one girl who can give you the “Hibidigibidis” whenever she wants.
Her love for Harry Potter is not to be forgotten either.
Meenal Pasari: The ever-sweet and ever-helpful senior, who, in the two years that we knew her,
managed to obtain the title of „Advisor For All Matters‟ spewed worldly knowledge on everything,
relationships, life, getting hurt and even health issues. The best „consoler‟ the house has ever seen.
Sonal Bhartia: A very shy though jolly person who can get anyone going “awww” once they start
talking to her. The diligent, behind-the-scenes person who worked painstakingly in the productions for
dance, one-act play, so on and so forth, is always reliable and focused in whatever she does.
Supriti David: Also known as „Supi‟, our beloved, hardworking and dedicated „comrade‟. Always there
for classmates as well as her juniors, this tiny little girl is not only a great leader but also someone you
always could rely on. She was also a great swimming captain who never gave up on her dream of taking
Jinari to the next level in swimming.
162
Alia Singh: She is the „Dream Girl‟ of the house, whose smile can break millions of hearts and whose
laugh can enrapture not only boys but also girls. A stunning beauty who has no airs whatsoever about
her own looks. Model and dancer, she is the epitome of elegance and the unrivalled „Heart Break Girl‟.
Her not-so-funny jokes and the bonding we shared with her shall be missed.
Jirnia Taying: Straightforward, temperamental, unpredictable-big words that describe Jirnia perfectly
for people who know her but few realize that there‟s more to this girl than she lets on. She may never
admit it but there‟s a sentimental side to her that very few have seen. Her words of advice may be harsh
but they are unpretentious and honest. She can be funny too but this emotion is reserved for the people
whom she is close to.
Priya Elangbam: The ultimate „tube light‟ of the House. Clumsy as she may be, she is also undeniably
beautiful, a fact justified by her receiving the title of „Prom Queen‟. Despite being a dedicated „Sciencee‟,
she finds time to contribute to the House, especially in sports.
Kaveri Roy: The upcoming Indie-jewellery fan who wowed everyone with her singing and dancing
skills, had an unexpected talent. She was a storehouse of political knowledge and an English to Hindi
Dictionary available at all times. She helped all Jinarians with a never-say-no attitude which is why she
will always remain in our hearts.
MANAS
Abhiman Paul: At first glance, Abhiman seems like a tall, grave-faced boy who walks around the
School corridors, but only on knowing him in person would you realize that he has a crazy side too.
Starting from his perpetual mood swings to his over-serious outbursts, Abhiman was a great dancer as
well. He never talked much, but was a great listener to others‟ problems and was also an exceptional
storehouse of secrets of the „Tsuki‟ department!
Kirtiman Hazarika: “Arrey! Arrey! What are you doing?” and we know Kirtiman is here. This walking
dictionary was a great philosopher on Marwaris, Muslims and other minority castes and religions as
well. He even went on to create his own group of followers (MDC) who greatly propounded his ideologies
and theories. A great foodie, Kirtiman enjoyed eating bhujia and always preferred paneer to chicken
during meals. His love for reading inspired many around him to pick up a book or two.
Keshav Rathi: Keshav was a silent presence in the House but proved his mettle when it came to
academics and quizzing. Though you couldn‟t find him in the middle of the action at the sports fields, he
knew more about its norms than any other Manasite. Never reluctant to help a junior, his shy existence
will be missed in the House.
Dipankar Deorah: When it came down to commitment, Dipankar did not even listen to himself
anymore. Be it acing a Mathematics exam or a badminton match, Dipankar was the man for the job. It
will be a long time before another such helpful senior enters the gates of Manas again.
163
Hardik Agarwal: A one of a kind persona, it was something of a miracle if you could control your
laughter around him. His love for EDM defined him as well as his frequent usage of the word- „Boka!‟
Full of his crazy stories, Hardik never failed to cheer up a junior even in the most serious of situations.
Lalmalsawma Sailo: The self-proclaimed „Magic-man‟ was not only a great guitarist but also a talented
singer who never hesitated to express his „strong‟ emotions through his lyrics. He inspired the House at
a tremendous level when it came to Inter-House fixtures and made sure none of the juniors‟ talent was
wasted. Mala was a phenomenal asset to the House, going on to contribute in Soccer, Water Polo and
Dance as well. With him gone, the LOC seems much emptier than usual.
Mukund Harlalka: Mukund was an exceptional squash player who worked tremendously to improve at
his game. A friendly person at heart, Mukund never hesitated to share his stock of tuck and was also a
favourite amongst the juniors.
Lisathung Patton: This hardcore Eminem fan was an exceptional footballer, be it on the sports fields
or on FIFA 14. He always kept the House in high spirits and was a very down-to-earth person as well. In
particular, one of the juniors, Farhan Hussain, will always remember him for his mentoring.
Rajat Gill: Respect is the only word that comes to a Manasite‟s mind when he sees Rajat effectively
juggling between his swimming practice and Science Classes. Endowed with a rich sense of humour,
Rajat was an inspiring figure to the juniors, always pushing them to their limits in order for them to do
their best. His half-line goal during water polo is a memory engrafted in every Manasite.
Aayush Singhania: Chabua, in his early years, was an instant hit among the seniors for his signature
dance moves. A dedicated squash player as well the head of electronic media centre, his quirky editing
gave him much recognition at the school level. He even went on to organize the Creative Eye Film
Festival but his self-made image among girls is quite questionable.
Aayush Agarwal: The night before a Mathematics exam, one would find juniors either praying to God
or in Aayush‟s room taking help. A very reserved but, nonetheless, reliable person, he contributed to the
House in the field of Badminton, as well as, Academics.
Sumer Roy: The Iron Man of Manas, Sumer was an avid swimmer, cricketer and most importantly: a
dedicated Manasite. He can be described as the guy who enjoyed life to the fullest and took mimicking
teachers to a whole new level. This Kolkata boy will be missed for his comical after-lights-out pranks.
164
Angshuman Singha: This Bishnauth Chariali boy was the coolest „Sciencee‟ ever known to mankind.
Heavily influenced by his seniors, Angshuman took it upon himself to shed his fat and gave in his 100%
to join the NDA. His rendition of „Baby Doll‟ and „Grand Mafti‟ will echo in the corridors of Manas
forever.
Harvey Newton Diengdoh: This E.M. Prefect of Manas was a singing sensation and a wanted man at
the various Inter-House events. Even though he was extremely busy all the time exercising his E.M.
duties, he had a lively sense of humour and was a favourite among all. However, “it‟s about time” to get
serious, eh Harvey?
Shreyansh Dugar: All hail the „Yo Mama‟ Legend of Manas! Our very own House Vice-Captain was
one of the best runners in school. Sheru also really took it to the heart when someone spoke ill about
Liverpool or Gerrard but he was ironically a squash player himself. His brief stint at the AVS news with
his shades and guitar are embedded in the minds of the Manasites forever.
Shantanu Mittal: In more ways than one, our House Captain was the backbone of the House and the
word dependable defined him. A Chelsea fan and a dedicated Science student, Shantanu in a way
actually enjoyed studying. He was an avid table tennis player and a great asset to Manas in the field of
academics.
KOPILI
Priyanka Warbah: An encouraging Sports Captain and a gem of a person, she likes to keep to herself
most of the time. A very enthusiastic and adventurous person who always triggers the spirit of athletic
success in Kopili.
Kyzom Y. Tenzing : The pride of all the lioness-hearted girls. The House Captain that stands out loud
in the crowd. She is the one who inspires us to change for the better every day. The adorable zombie of
our dreams.
Saloni Saraogi: Confidence and determination is what keeps her going. She is the one who teaches us
that at the end of the day, it is only your perception which matters. The Prefect who makes us realize
that your greatness lies in shining through the crowd.
Nilofar Farheen: The in-house manager of Kopili. She‟s a spoonful of sweetness, selflessness and
reliability. She‟s hard working, strong willed and her artistic vision never fails to surprise us.
165
Suravi Podder : Her words are her strongest weapon. An ace debator and public speaker, she adds
style and dignity to her post as the Head Girl. An asset to Kopili, she inspires us with her eccentricities
and practical outlook.
Rupali Sharma : This EM Prefect is like no other. She makes every frown turn upside down. Every face
wears a beaming smile when she is around owing to her hilarious antics and rib-tickling take on life.
Shivalika Chowdhary: A very reserved and soft spoken girl whose words speak louder than her
actions. Focussed on her academics, she is a person who is hard to let go of once you get to know her.
Swati Baruah: She is one of the most genuine girls Kopili could have ever asked for. With a heart of
gold, trust Swati to listen to you and make you feel optimistic even in the worst of times. Her melodious
voice has captivated many hearts and her broad smile never fails to light up Kopili.
Michelle P. Marak : A bold and practical person, she is one you can never get enough of. Be it her
unusually trend-setting accent or her ability to derive humour out of almost everything, this Kopili girl
will go a long, fruitful way.
Dagi Ngomdir: She is a girl who doesn‟t talk much. But at the same time, does not refrain from
welcoming new people into her life. With her enviable sense of fashion, she keeps the Kopili Style Meter
running high. She helps people whenever she can and is always willing to stand up for her friends.
Aashna Chawchharia: She is a very sensible person who can give you good advice. A very helpful girl
who does not slip away through the back door when you need her. She is one of the most down-to-earth
and soft spoken girls that Kopili has ever seen.
Eurika Rymbai: She is very reserved, but once you get to know her, she may as well become your
inseparable buddy. A girl who doesn‟t complain much and never fails to appreciate.
166
Jessica Chowdhury: One of the most vivacious seniors you will ever meet. Keeping her impressive
academic performance intact, she is not afraid to experiment. You will never want to stop listening to
her beautiful and sultry voice.
Sherab Choden: If you need advice on anything, she is always there to listen to you and guide you. The
„cool gal‟ of the House, Sherab makes us feel that situations can never get worse until you want them to.
DHANSIRI
Hifzur Rahman: Respect. A House Captain who was all right in being despised for the greater good.
And he was respected for the very same reason. He had his own way, and his prickly nature made way
for something deeper. His raspy voice does bring a few chills down every Dhansiri boy‟s spine. You do
not want to get on his bad side.
Arindam Barooah: Another very active EM Head from Dhansiri house. You need managing or editing
this is your man. A soccer player once upon a time, swimming is his calling now. In moments of
irritation, his eyes would send you screaming and at the end, his would always get the job done.
Ayush Bajaj: A boy who would try and put up a tough exterior but was a very mushy person at heart.
He was „deadly‟ in his EM work and was a gem in the WMH. He never forgot his roots and was always
ready to help for the house. His chest was always up and his heart always in love with ladies with the
initials „S‟
Mayukhraj Saharia: The Perfect Prefect. He led Dhansiri in an exemplary manner, even sacrificing
his studies regardless of the consequences. A boy who is loved by all, especially by our DOS. A very good
tennis player and football player (only Behind-Dhansiri). We all hope he never changes.
Shivraj Nunisa: He truly represents the logo of AVS. Proclaimed master of all sports, Shivraj Nunisa
tried his hand in almost every sport. From volleyball to shot put, he is worth more than platinum to
Dhansiri House.
Nummeir Ahmed: A boy who was always mentally stable whatever the situation. Perhaps one of the
most talented boys Dhansiri has ever seen in the field of swimming and horse riding. He might have
been a bane for most teachers but was a boon for the House and loved by all.
Dev Porus Sur: A senior whom you could confide in without any worries. A cricket player until class 9
until a missed catch brought an end to that and started off his swimming career in AVS. A fighter.
167
Jayant Agarwal: He doesn‟t talk much but when he does, it shuts others up. He should be thanked as
his role in the food committee brought about the improvement in the quality of food in AVS.
Nathan Zeliang: Captain Calm was inspirational as all soccer captains in AVS have been. Perhaps one
of the most respected seniors in the School, he is a role model for many. One more thing, there perhaps
has never been a tidier and organised guy in AVS than Nathan Zeliang.
Alemso Tawsik: This guy is like lightning. Be it in the tracks, the soccer pitch or running away from
the LOC. His antics are legendary and so is his laugh. No matter what he does, he inspires all.
Lalrinwa Changte: Mr.EggHead. We all love this guy. He makes you laugh and laugh especially when
he‟s channelled with his high side. He‟s a friend who will never look down upon you whatever happens.
Ojinso Pul: This boy made many hearts flutter at once when he joined a year and a half ago. A
multitalented personality, Ojinso will give your body an ache with marathons as well as badminton.
And when it comes to basketball, he moves like a butterfly and stings like a bee!
Tanzeeb Iqbal: He is one of the most liked seniors and has the time to help everyone. Despite the fact
he failed in Biotech, he is a mastermind and is also known as the grandmaster of Dhansiri.
Rohan Dastidar: A calm and composed boy who has probably a lot going on in his mind. A boy who is
willing to sacrifice himself to save his friends. If only he was consistent with soccer he would have been a
legend. You wouldn‟t see many others going to play badminton with their sandals either.
Siladitya Samir: There is a reason Siladitya comes last. This boy is perhaps the most artistic and
creative person in this school. His work makes you gape and wonder. A flirt of the highest order, you do
not want to come in his way unless you want black magic upon you.
SUBANSIRI
168
Anushka Barman: Humour and Barman are synonymous terms. Wherever she goes, happiness follows.
She never failed to bring a smile on anyone‟s face. The „bubbly‟ of our House will never be forgotten. We
hope you never stop singing and wish you luck for future.
Visakha Kashyap: The „sunshine‟ of our House. We will remember her laughter echoing all around the
House. She always made everyone happy around the House and outside it. Not only is she a good
sportsperson but she is also an excellent dancer. We will miss her presence a lot. We wish her the very
best for her future.
Radhika Jalan: The girl who has always been good at managing events at the School level. The
webpage designer, Radhika, better known as „Jalan‟ does not lose any battle. Bring any argument and
she will fight through it all and emerge victorious. Jalan, you shall be missed. All the best for your
future.
Barkhaa Goswami: How can we forget the girl who captured all our hearts by her graceful steps and
the beautiful expression of her eyes? Apart from the cultural bit, she is a carefree and an extremely
sweet girl. The sound from her „ghungroos‟ will keep echoing in our ears forever. All the best for your
future.
Akanksha Jain: The busy-bee without whom the AVE team would have been incomplete. Always
determined to give a great result in everything she does. She is Akanksha, the aspired one, always
riding swiftly, the horse of life. We shall miss her and we wish her the best of luck for her future.
Srishty Dutta: All hail the suzeknight queen. When determined, no one can dare to stop her. She is
scary sometimes, but at the same time, kind. Our inspiring House Captain, she will continue to motivate
us and be in our hearts forever. Your absence will make us incomplete. Best of luck for your future.
Anauska Dutta: The scholar of our School, the tennis player and the perfect public school girl. As a
person she is always ready to help each one of us be it a class 6 girl or a class 11 girl, she would leave no
problems unsolved. Her kindness will always be remembered. Wishing her all the best for her future.
Harsha Pareek: The Michael Angelo of our house. Harsha is a very sweet girl and a person who can
never see anybody in distress. She is a high achiever in academics and also a beautiful dancer. Her
positive energy around the House will be greatly missed. May she have a bright future.
Vani Chettri: The nightingale of our house, she captures our attention with her melodious voice. The
webpage designer, a beautiful artist and an excellent composer, she has got it all. We are all going to
miss that jolly smile of hers and we wish her a bright future ahead.
Prarthana Baruah: The stern commander who has got everything under control. A simple and sweet
girl but don‟t you go messing around with her! Apart from being a good mentor, she is someone who can
discover worlds by the stroke of her pen. Her scoldings, her infuriatingly sweet smile and her kindness
will be missed. We wish her luck for the future.
169
Jennifer Paul: An excellent designer, Jennifer is always coming up with something creative and new.
Never out of new hairstyles, she turns up looking as pretty as ever. She will always be missed by the
suzeknights yet we wish her all the best for her future.
Mahasweta Das: The intelligent soul of Subansiri, Maha is an extremely friendly girl. She is always
ahead in the cultural front with her beautiful dancing and her mesmerizing voice that echoes in the
House corridors. This kind girl will always be remembered and may luck always be with her.
Sakshi Saraf: How can we begin to describe Sakshi, the girl who is always laughing, eating and making
fun of people (you know who). We will really miss you and we hope that you bring happiness in other
people‟s life as you did in ours.
Demita Nambam: How can we forget the K-Pop fan always watching a Korean movie whenever and
wherever she gets a chance, smiling away to glory. How can we not miss the motherly love she emitted
out to people who needed help, always rendering her shoulder to people to lean on. To the cheerful and
kind Demi, we hope you have a very good future ahead.
NAMDANG
Murongpang Imsong: A leader, a natural at sport and a contributor to the House as well as the School
throughout his years. Maybe owing to his vast experience, he developed an aura of „the perfect
gentleman‟ which has earned him our admiration and awe as well.
Irwin Daimari: A young leader of great caliber with vast knowledge, and a load of experience. He is
looked up to by all his peers and held in great regard both in the House as well as in School. Not a man
of many words but of actions although the few he speaks are sure to have an impact. The air of dignity
in and about him commands respect.
Keshav Agarwal: Continuing to prove his critics wrong, he went on to accomplish his goals; be it in
leadership, academics or photography. His love for humor is such that he actually went to the extent of
getting a pair of boxers which say, „beta tumse na ho payega‟!!
170
Abhishek Daimari: A leader of some distinction, the holder of all three ties, he felled records like
dominoes in swimming. There has been many a twist in his school life (perhaps too many) but his
potential and determination has always found him back on track. Though these were hurdles, they are
what make Abhishek Daimari: Abhishek Daimari
Abhinav Khaitan: A humble, down to earth lad with a good sense of humour. In his short stay of two
years in school, he has endeared the juniors and made himself known to his peers. A boy with exemplary
knowledge, incredible wit and academic excellence, he is certainly set for higher things in life.
Dhruv Dutta: Nearly a decade has passed since Dhruv has appeared in school. He is at home on stage,
either acting rather expressively or showcasing his oratory skills. Apart from the spotlight, the
basketball court and the House will certainly feel the absence of Dhruv Dutta and his smile.
Avni Joshi: Omnipresent in all events, his absence is rarely felt in any situation. A keen swimmer and
a passionate web page designer, he will leave a void in the House.
Boris Borgohain: A soccer fanatic though he hasn‟t really hit the field yet, there isn‟t a thing that he
wouldn‟t know when it comes to the Gunners. Passionate about his academics he has that jovial nature
and hearty laugh, ready for all occasions.
Ashu Sharma: His contribution to music in school cannot be forgotten. Apart from being a keen
cricketer and gardener, the effort he put in academics will be an example for the aeon to come. His
absence will mean a stop to the supply of sweets from PAYASH!
Aditya Agarwal: Although he has been here only for two years, he has found himself to be an integral
part of the tabulation team. An equestrian and mathematician of some repute, he has surprised us all by
choosing to take up western dance. We address him as „big brother‟ with love.
Pejom Ete: Irreplaceable to the AVS soccer squad, his FIFA skills are also at par with his real life ones.
Though mostly he kept to himself, apart from housemates the ghosts of F1 will certainly feel his
absence.
Snehanshu Raj Baruah: The „Prince of Darkness‟ would have been best suited to a world of fiction
such as Hogwarts. He has attached himself to various activities over the years and has taken keen
pleasure in contributing to AVE in whichever way possible.
