Modular airhandling unit
Type KU-M
Air handling units designed in 25 different sizes
cover the airflow volumes range from 800 to
190,000 m3/h. The combination of sizes and
executions provides a maximum adaptability to
ventilated space.
Required cleanness, temperature and air
humidity are ensured by filtration, heating,
cooling, humidifying or drying the air. In most
cases the air treatment process in air handling
units is completely automatic.
DAMPERS
Dampers consist of a number of aluminium
blades bordered with a rubber seal and built into
a common aluminium frame. Manual blades
activation is possible by a crank handle or by an
electric-motor drive. It is also possible to build in a
lever for simultaneous activation of blades of two
dampers for the purpose of mutual airflow control
or closing/opening of dampers.
SOUND ATTENUATORS
The unit is available in six different lengths,
depending on the airhandling unit size.
Buffles made of a special paper lined mineral
wool are highly absorbing, moisture-proof and
non-combustible according to DIN 4102 class A1.
HONEYCOMB HUMIDIFIERS
Humidification of air is provided by a contact
between air and a large wet surface (honeycomb)
which results in evaporation of water. The
honeycomb is made of specially formed PVC fins
with gaps which enables the flow of air. Water pours
from the vessel on the top of the honeycomb down
the walls to the receiver from which it is pumped
back into the vessel on the top of the honeycomb.
Whole range of air washers, water atomisers, steam
generator humidifiers are also available (upon
request).
FILTERS
Filter insert classes EU 1 to EU 9 are suitable for all
systems and adjusted to unit size. Special filters
such as active carbon filters, degreasing filters,
compact filters, absolute filters class EU 10 – EU 14,
etc. can be supplied on request.
FRAME
The casing structure consists of profiles and corner
elements made of die cast aluminium alloy, powder
coated to standard RAL colour or colour according to
the customer’s request.

Motor speed regulation with a frequency converter.
FANS
Various types of radial double inlet centrifugal
fans with forward or backward curved blades and
plug-in fans are installed. Centrifugal fans with
powder-coated wheel or fans and motors with an
adequate protection (ATEX design) are used for air
discharge with a high content of fatty vapours or
explosive gases. A great number of types and sizes
make it possible to select the most suitable fan for
all specific requirements.
HEAT RECOVERY UNITS
By using the return air heat recovery, considerable
energy savings of heating and cooling power
may be achieved. The most often used types of
recuperators are plate, rotating and multi-plate
type. Plate recuperator is made of specially formed
interconnected aluminium fins. The plate exchanger
design completely separates the airflow, thus
preventing the transfer of any impurity, smell,
moisture, bacteria, etc. from the return to the fresh air.
Ceiling air handling units
Type KU-P
Air handling units in 3 different sizes
cover the air volume flow ranging
from 500 to 4 000 m3/h. The devices
are manufactured as single units on
common baseframe. Due to very low
installation height of 350 mm, units
are suitable for installation under the
ceiling or into the ceiling structure.
The design and quality of units and
built-in materials allow a carefree
and quiet operation that meets the
noise level requirements prescribed.
Combinations of functional units
that are frequently delivered are
offered as standard configurations.
SUSPENSION
Unit is suspended on a ceiling with hangers and
suspension elements (corners, profiles and hooks).
FAN SPEED CONTROL
Variable air volume flow control units.
MAINTENANCE
Access doors for fans and filters are installed on
the bottom of the unit, and coil connections are
installed on unit side, which enables easy access to
installed components, as well as their mainteinance
and replacement.

Swimming pool airhandling units
Type KU-B
Climatic conditions within the area
of indoor swimming pools are highly
demanding. Pursuant to VDI 2089
the condition of air maintained
within the swimming pool area must
be suitable for both the visitors
and the building structure. This
is possible by means of standard
units for saturated warm air exhaust
and fresh dry air supply, which is
accompanied by a considerable
energy consumption despite the use
of a recuperator.
The air handling units of the KU-B
series, equipped with a plate
recuperator with an exhaust air
heat utilization exceeding 60% and
a heat pump complete with the
accessories and controls, guarantee
the achievement of microclimatic
conditions suitable for both the
people and the building structure.
Due to various conditions resulting
from a varying intensity of using the
swimming pool, a varying condition
of the outdoor air during the day, as
well as during various seasons of the
year, the design of the air handling
unit enables five different modes of
operation at minimum operating
costs.
Control switchboxes are delivered
with all necessary elements of
DDC controller and components
of electrical installation (bimetals,
relays, control switches).
DAMPERS
The system of dampers allows the change of the
operation mode. They are made of counterflowconnected aluminium blades equipped with
rubber seals. The automatic operation of dampers is
servomotor-controlled.
For the additional protection the
external and internal sides of the
unit are powder coated.
Unit design allows a simple handling
and maintenance, including the
replacement of components.
HEAT PUMP
Heat pump system consists of a condenser,
evaporator, compressor and of the accessories
connected, tested and ready for automatic
operation. Environmental friendly refrigerants are
used.
Modes of operation
The DDC automatic controls used
for the unit operation and control
provide all air handling unit
functions:
[1] Initial operation for rapid heating of space in winter (100% recirculation)
■ ambient temperature and air
humidity control;
■ supply and exhaust fan operation
management;
■ heat pump operation control;
■ pressure drop monitoring due to
filter impurities;
[2] Operation in the standstill mode (no swimmers)
■ damper operation management;
■ water heater operation control
and antifreeze protection;
■ possibility of connecting to
the central control or building
management system (BAS);
■ modem connection for the
purpose of remote control.
[3] Operation at winter use of swimming pools
[4] Operation when using swimming pools in transitional periods
[5] In the summer period the heat pump is out of operation and the 100% fresh
air is used.
Air heaters
Type TR
Air heaters are used for quick and
efficient heating of large spaces.
Advantage of these device is direct
heating of air with burn gases
through the heat exchanger, by
which the heat loss for heating up
intermediate medium – water is
avoided. Efficiency of fuel energy
is more than 90 %, which complies
with standards and regulations
of EU.
Such benefits are result of intensive
research of air flow, burner gases and
apply of new compounds. Quality
of device and installed components
(fans, electric switches, burner, etc.)
guarantee long lasting and fault-free
operation.

Control switchboxes are delivered
with all necessary elements of
DDC regulation and electrical
components (bimetals, relays,
control switches).
Construction of control switchboxes, selection
of appropriate components and preparation of
technical documentation are done with usage of
modern technologies and up-to-date computer
applications.
Measured and adjustable values,
status and alarms are possible to read
on digital screen on front side of DDC
controller.
Control switchboxes are completely wired and tested,
with all necessary certificates.
