Introduction
The increasing demands for higher quality and performance and the complexities at the workplace due
to the constant upgrades in technology and global initiatives have affected and taxed the relationship
between leaders and their team. The team leader of today has to have exceptional skill-sets to be ‘one
up’ on their team as education no longer gives one an edge. And as the demographics changes
constantly, the leader has to know how to develop himself to be ahead of the team.
This Certified Team Leader (CTL) professional certification focuses on the primary principles and skill-sets
that will enable a leader to keep up and be ahead of transformation. They must have competencies that
foster collaboration, involvement, initiative and passion – not only downwards, but upward and across
the organisation as well.
Objective
A team leader’s role is the most important position in the daily operations of any particular job. The
Team Leader (TL) has to supervise, guide, motivate and develop working strategies to ensure the team
achieves the goals and targets set by the organisation.
To ensure success, the TL must have knowledge of how to plan, organise, motivate, direct and control the
performance of the team members and the products and services. That is why it is extremely important
for the TL to communicate clear instructions in a manner that can influence the attitude and actions of
the team members.
Target Group
Supervisors, executives, assistant managers and project leaders looking to build a solid foundation and
better understanding of what is needed to succeed as Team Leader.
