Existing Kentucky State Park – Facilities are in place Parking Bathrooms Camping 167 sites with electric and water hookups Field for Overflow / Paddling Festivals Boat Ramp for boat launch Existing Lock and Dam # 10 has an Elevation Change These Ingredients = White Water Park Fort Boonesborough White Water Park The White Water Park would be gravity feed from the upper river pool. No expensive electric pumps needed. What is a white water park? Place of recreation Whitewater slalom is a competitive sport where the aim is to navigate a decked canoe or kayak through a course of hanging gates on river rapids in the fastest time possible. Since its opening Reno has hosted a three day River Festival each year which brings in over 23k visitors and in the past ten years has had a $30 million dollar economic impact on Reno and its businesses. Since its construction is has already hosted the National Whitewater Freestyle championships two years in a row bringing in over 5,000 visitors for each competition Why: Kayakers will Travel for whitewater! And participation within our surrounding region and the south east was 12.5% of the population.
