kurs Extraction Socket Management – How to simplify augmentations and avoid esthetic failures. FORELESNING & HANDS-ON Foreleser: Dr. Dietmar Weng – Tyskland kursdatoer: OSLO 3. The knowledge of wound healing sequences after tooth extraction has triggered a series of biological and surgical ideas to deal appropriately with the consequences of natural socket healing since implant placement in healed sites is often impossible, unless simultaneous or even preimplantological bone augmentation are performed. However, implant insertion with simultaneous bone augmentation requires high surgical skills and can sometimes cause problems in postoperative healing. Foreleser: Dr. Dietmar Weng, Tyskland Priv.-Doz. Dr. Dietmar Weng graduated from the University of Marburg, Germany, in 1993, and spent the subsequent 3 years as Assistant Professor at the University of Freiburg, Germany, Department of Prosthodontics. Furthermore, for a predictable esthetic result hard and soft tissue alterations after tooth extraction and after implant insertion have to be foreseen and to be compensated for accordingly. The more these changes of hard and soft tissue levels can be controlled, the less invasive procedures have to be performed to counteract them. Systematic over-augmentation of hard and soft tissues should be the very last option in esthetically challenging cases. This presentation will focus on the prerequisites for predictability in such cases by analyzing the biologic and technical factors contributing to the final result. Clinical scenarios which ease surgical demands, avoid excessive augmentation procedures and maximize the esthetic and functional long term success are presented and trained during the hands-on part. Simplify your augmentation! From 1996 to 1998 he worked as Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Houston, USA, Department of Periodontics, and did extensive research on dental implants and regenerative materials. oslo – 3. mars 2015 Radisson Blu Hotell Scandinavia Kl. 16.30-20.30 Enkel servering. From 1999 to 2004 he was Associate Professor at the University of Würzburg, Germany, Department of Prosthodontics. Currently he is a Visiting Scholar at the University of Kiel, Germany, Department of Prosthodontics, where he finished his Ph.D. thesis in 2011. Apart from conventional fixed prosthodontics and esthetic rehabilitations, his main focus lies on surgical and prosthetic aspects of prosthetically driven implantology and soft tissue management upon which he has lectured and published nationally and internationally. Dr. Weng is a member of several scientific societies and serves on the editorial board of the Quintessence journal ”Implantologie”. Since 2004 he has practiced in a private office in Starnberg, Germany, with a special focus on implant dentistry and periodontics. He has become Vice President of the German Society of Dental, Oral and Craniomandibular Sciences (DGZMK) in 2013. kursavgift: Forelesning + Hands-On på grisekjever kr. 2.900,(Max 25 deltakere på Hands-On).
