The next few photos are of Bill & Laurie O’Connor’s Ipe deck and porch. Their address is 8111 Chars Landing Ct., Springfield, VA 22153. They have been kind enough to become references for us. They wanted low maintenance… but they also loved the rich, warm look of real wood. They chose Ipe flooring and an Ipe kneewall around the porch. Copyright by Mike French 2005 Virginia Decking & Remodeling All right reserved But not wanting what their neighbors have, they opted for a custom Fairway Vinyl Railing with an Ipe cap and spindle balusters. They had us install lighting on all the railing 4x4s for a beautiful look at night. We encased almost everything in white vinyl including the stair risers, stair carriages, beams and 6x6 support posts below. Ipe (or Massaranduba) does take annual maintenance… but nothing like pressure treated. Ask your Designer for more information.
